Mal Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 Does any one know how to set phrase pads to play back in time with the speed of the accompaniment? I have tried several settings in the quantise section but am not fully understanding them or whether quantise is what I need to alter. Quote
Brad Saucier Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 Turning on timing sync might be what you're looking for. Page EN-56 of the manual "configuring phrase playback setups" shows how. Quote
Mclandy Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 In addition to Brad's helpful pointer to the Phrase Playback settings, which help sync phrases with your accompaniment, you might also be running into a known problem in the manual regarding the description of the Quantize settings, which can be a bit misleading. Please see the following thread for more information on how to properly set the Quantize value: Quote
Mal Posted November 28, 2024 Author Posted November 28, 2024 Thanks Brad & Mclandy, I thought that timing sync should do the trick so I set it to “2” “ Beats” but that did not do it. However I had also played with the quantise setting prior to that so I will try again with the quantise setting”off”. Thanks again to both. Quote
Mal Posted December 13, 2024 Author Posted December 13, 2024 Morning all, I have set up the timing sync for the phrase pad and it does enable you to vary the timing of the phrase with the tempo but it still does not match it to the speed of the accompaniment. I still think I may be missing something and have been back to the shop I bought the keyboard from and they are also looking into it but no word yet. Thanks for the interest. Quote
Brad Saucier Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 Can you post a YouTube video of the issue? Is this a phrase you are recording yourself? Quote
Mclandy Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 Just out of interest, are you trying to use the phrase with an accompaniment that is in something other than 4/4 time? If I remember correctly, phrases only record and play back in 4/4 time, so they get out of sync when playing with an accompaniment in a different time signature. If your accompaniment is in 3/4 time, sometimes you can "trick" the keyboard by creating a 3-measure phrase (3 measures x 4 beats = 12 total beats), so it lines up with 4 accompaniment measures (4 measures x 3 beats = 12 total beats).
