Casiokid Posted Saturday at 01:26 PM Posted Saturday at 01:26 PM (edited) What would be the best option, to record just a left hand piano part only? If I record the left hand (say an alberto bossi style piano part) as a Rhythm will I then be able to just play the chords in performance with my left hand whilst the Rhythm plays all the moving notes recorded for the chord automatically? I' m not interested in recording drum, percusion, bass parts but perhaps I will need to set a rhythm? Edited Saturday at 02:05 PM by Casiokid Quote
Mclandy Posted Saturday at 02:46 PM Posted Saturday at 02:46 PM I'd say the most important consideration whether to record something as a "Rhythm", is not so much which parts you want (drum, percussion, bass, etc.), as it is whether you have a repeating pattern (or patterns) that you want to play back in free-flowing chord sequences as you play. So if you only want to play one particular song in one particular way, especially if the left hand play is very dynamic, then just record it in the Song Recorder and add additional tracks for leads. But if you want it to be part of a reusable repetitive "style" that you can apply to a variety of similar songs, then record it as a Rhythm. But yes, with a Rhythm you would play basic chords with the left hand, generating all the "moving notes" in your accompaniment pattern, while playing lead with the right. Quote
Casiokid Posted Monday at 09:06 AM Author Posted Monday at 09:06 AM (edited) Thanks Mclandy....you've re-confirmed my two options. However I've now come across an X3000 tutorial video where the guy creates left hand guitar patterns using a Rhythm which I could use to produce left hand piano Rhythm pattern(s). Anyway thanks again for your response. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Apzz_rtlRSE Edited Monday at 09:06 AM by Casiokid Quote
