Robert D Posted January 8 Posted January 8 I am importing a MIDI file using the CASIO Data Manager for CT-X from Cakewalk onto the Song Bank of my CASIO CT-X700. The problem is, when I play the song on the CASIO, it seems to have chosen a random tone for the song. I would like to be able to import tracks onto my CASIO and then change the tone of the song to use one of the keyboards many insrument tones. Is there any way to change the tone of a song in the song bank? Quote
Solution Brad Saucier Posted January 8 Solution Posted January 8 The tone selections you would like to use can be recorded in the MIDI file itself with Cakewalk. Perhaps the easiest way is to allow a 1 measure gap at the beginning of the song to record these selections for each track. Using your CTX connected to Cakewalk via MIDI, press record on a track to begin recording. During the first measure, select an upper 1 tone on the CTX that reflects the tone you want to use on that track. You can use the number buttons or a registration recall. The CTX will send the tone message (patch select data) to be recorded. Once completed, press play in Cakewalk to confirm the tones are playing back as recorded. There are other ways to input this data into Cakewalk, but this is probably the easiest or quickest way to get started. Another option is a patch script. If your version of Cakewalk/Sonar allows it, a patch script for the CT-X700 can be installed to select tones. Quote
