Looks like NAMM 2025 is going forward, despite the devastating California fires throughout the area. Looking through some preliminary news, all I can find so far is a report detailing 2 new Casio console digital pianos. This article, towards the bottom if you scroll down, describes 2 new AP digital budget Casio console pianos. Maybe we'll see a few more surprises.

Just my opinion-

It might be helpful in the areas that can, to try to go forward with whatever they can. Might boost some people's "morale". On the surface, it may seem possibly heartless and selfish to proceed with this. But...with people coming from all over the world to NAMM-they will see what has happened there, and it might bring more people forward to help restore the destroyed homes, lives, and natural habitats if they see it first-hand. Anything that can help restore the devastated local economies, homes and natural areas. large and small-let it go forward. Sometimes positive change can happen in unexpected ways. Maybe that will be what happens as a result of this very large NAMM gathering-maybe some of the major music companies will be willing to donate to restorations there once they see it-since so much of the music and film industry function as a result of what many people in those industries have to do for a living, right there-whether it is a small business owner and their workers, workers that have lost their homes or even many of the larger industry people who I'm sure are feeling the effects of the surrounding devastation, as well as many of the the musicians, actors, stage crews and hundreds of support people. This is the "capital" of one of the largest industries in our country, and there is a big history there as well. I would guess thousands have lost not only their homes, but their livelihoods. I was surprised that NAMM was even going to be possible-so more power to them if it can benefit anybody in that area.

AFAICT, the fires were/are mostly north of LA proper, and NAMM is in Orange County, which locals will tell you is not LA and is south of it. As a person who lives in an area where natural disasters sometimes occur, I can confirm that news reporting tends to blur regions for convenience. It's hard to describe to people unfamiliar where places are relative to each other. "Southern California" gets thrown around a lot, and I had a friend in San Diego who would always get called by his mother on the East Coast when she heard that on the news, and most times what they were talking about was up in LA or somewhere like that.

I don't think anything related to the fires is anywhere near NAMM. What NAMM had to deal with are probably two main things. Are displaced people in those hotels? And how much of the industry is affected and unable or not wanting to come because they live and/or are based in LA? Yes, there probably will be people who have been affected or have stories who will be at NAMM and spread the word and get outsiders to help more. Also, many times people will visit famous places in the LA area while they're in town. Depending upon where, they may be able to see some of the damage, and see what's happened to famous places that were damaged or destroyed.

Did Casio stop production of the PX-560? I didn't think so, but you could be right. With inflation so high everywhere for everything, I'd be very surprised if Casio released anything near the top of their PX-5s and 560 models.

Yes it is discontinued. PX-5S however is still trotting along. From what I understand, PX-S7000 and PX-S6000 are doing very well. In fact PX-S7000 just won MMA dealers choice award for the 4th year in a row. They definitely struck a chord with those.

I'll add this regarding NAMM.  They're showing new models that were released in mid 2024. This is their first time out at NAMM.

In other news, Casio has updated the Lyric Creator app for the CT-S1000V.  It adds some very welcome new lyric tone editing tools, including the ability to preview the lyric tones in the app before transferring to the keyboard.  This is a huge benefit that will help streamline the lyric tone creation process!

Thanks for the heads up! And good to hear that the S1000V app is still being updated and improved. I'll have to dust down my S1000V and check it out 👍

Hmm.  I'm only seeing Chas.   Perhaps your browser is automatically translating your display name because some of this page is not in English, although I have no clue how Chas translates to Hour.  🤷🏻‍♂️

The PX-6000/7000 series are not selling well. At least not in Europe. The price is ridiculously high. For +2000 euros there are many better and more professional options.

I can't speak for Europe, but the MMR award is voted on by retailers across the US.  This is the 4th straight win for the PX-S7000 as best home digital piano of the year.

This is very nice, but they don't talk about the amount of sales of the product.

Only about how beautifull they are. And they are beautifull pianos. No doubt about this. I own a PX-S6000.
