Scott Rogers Posted April 22 Posted April 22 I am embarking on a Summer Tour beginning in July 2025. Love my 560, but need a second board on stage and ready to go if there were a tech issue. With the 560 no longer made and a replacement not on the horizon, I think I’ll add a CK88 to the road gear. Any comments about that choice or insights as to another 560 type instrument coming before July? Quote
Brad Saucier Posted April 22 Posted April 22 Are there any must-have features from the PX-560 you would want to have in your next piano? Quote
Scott Rogers Posted April 22 Author Posted April 22 I love the 560! Improvements for me would be a damper pedal connection, a assignable connection PLUS a cv connection. XLR output options would be nice, but not mandatory. Would love to eliminate the transformer and be able to use a standard (hex?) cord for power. 1 Quote
Jokeyman123 Posted April 23 Posted April 23 Correct me if I'm wrong-but there is a damper pedal connection-I use it all the time. and the other jack can be assigned a huge variety of parameters, the same as the 3 control knobs. CV-you mean control voltage-as in analog synths used for various functions-pitch, timing sync/trigger and which many newer analog/digital controllers have-I have a Keystep mini controller with this, my Behringer Poly D also has a CV connection as did my old Pro-One Sequential which I used way back. I know of nothing equivalent to the PX-560 such as another workstation/88 key controller/digital piano that has one. There may be midi adapters that create a CV function through midi, I've never looked. Look for a keyboard meant to be incorporated into a modular system, this seems to be the throwback many musicians seem to be interested in. Quote
Scott Rogers Posted April 24 Author Posted April 24 I tested out the CK88 today. Keybed is awful. Geared more toward organ I think. When I mentioned CV, I was looking for ONE damper pedal connection, ONE aux (assignable) connection and ONE control volume connection. Three total independent connections. I may take my px-s 3100 on tour as a backup. I don’t love it like the 560, but it’s going to suffice. Quote
Choppin Posted April 29 Posted April 29 (edited) What about the PX-5S? Looks like it's still being made - at least it is still able to be bought directly from CASIO - which makes me think it is still being made. ...and isn't the PX-560 a parallel - sorta fewer function version of the PX-5s ? I'm not sure it's still being made, maybe they have a warehouse filled with them somewhere and are selling the stock. PX 560 has different hardware like the touch screen and I think also the microcontroller, so it's possible that the production of the PX-5S ended after the one of the PX-560. Quote
Choppin Posted May 3 Posted May 3 I meant, the PX-5s could be the replacement keyboard the OP is looking for as it has similarities and it seems to still be available. Quote
