  1. I have good news to report. The replacement's menu buttons work! Problem solved. Thought the readers would like to hear that. Now it's time to begin enjoying this beauty!
  2. Yeah.... I would feel uneasy about receiving an opened box and whether or not it was a returned/used item. If the keyboard came with some type of certification letter, either from Guitar Center or Casio, stating that the piano's controls and features had been thoroughly inspected by a quality control specialist to ensure that everything worked like it was meant to, I would feel a lot better with an opened box. I would also like to know that the warranty was still intact. Even so, I'd like to know that it was a new keyboard and not a used item, since I am paying full price for new equipment. Guitar Center finally shipped out my replacement PX-560M, and I will be receiving it later this week. I'll update my post to let you know if checks out okay...especially the menu buttons. I sure hope they work this time!
  3. Thanks AlenK. I agree...that would be a smart thing to do. If I should somehow get another defective PX-560, I will definitely think twice about ordering another one until I have been given some assurance by Casio that they have a handle on their quality control issues. I will update this post when the new keyboard arrives.
  4. Well, the defective keyboard is now on its way back to Guitar Center, and once they receive it they will ship me out another one that hopefully works like it is meant to. I asked the representative that processed my return if Guitar Center will report this mechanical defect to their Casio rep, and he said that they certainly would. He told me that they would want Casio to know that a problem exists and would want the matter resolved quickly so that they don’t have other disappointed customers reporting the same issue with this keyboard. That’s why I bothered to post my experience on this forum in the first place, hoping that a representative from Casio will see this and will get the message out to Casio’s quality control division to get this matter looked into and fixed, especially given that the LCD screen and menu buttons are the primary way to navigate through and access the PX-560’s many features. Keeping my fingers crossed that my next PX-560 won’t come from the same lot!
  5. Hello. I just received the PX-560M digital piano that I ordered from Guitarcenter.com. After I had taken the keyboard out of the box and set it up to start playing it and exploring its features, I immediately noticed a defect in the LCD menu buttons. They don't work. I have to turn the keyboard off and on again in order to gain access to the MENU that you see when you first turn the piano on. I have recorded a short video and uploaded it to YouTube, so that you can see what I am talking about. It appears that the buttons are not doing what they are supposed to do. They seem to be activating whatever is on the screen to the left of the buttons, which is obviously incorrect. I am certainly disappointed, as this was my gift to myself this holiday season. Now, I will have to box the piano back up and send it back to Guitar Center for a refund, and then order another one. I just hope that Casio is aware of this serious issue with this model and is taking steps to resolve it. This does not appear to be a one-time thing, as I searched online and found that another customer is experiencing the same exact issue with his new Privia PX-560M. So, there is a quality control issue that needs to be addressed wherever these are being manufactured. Directly below is my video that I filmed and uploaded today. Further down is the other video that was uploaded by a different customer back in November.
  6. I just received my Privia 560M from Guitar Center, and right out of the box the touchscreen buttons just to the right of the screen do not respond when I press them. It appears that Casio has either a smattering of LCD screens with touch sensors that are misaligned or they are completely unresponsive. This issue is being experienced by other consumers and is not a one-time incident. One gentleman uploaded a video recently on YouTube to show the same problem I am having. Hopefully, Casio will address this soon. Looks like it’s back into the box and then shipping back to Guitar Center. Disappointing. I’m sort of hesitant to order a replacement now, as I can’t help but wonder how many other 560’s snuck past Casio’s quality control measures undetected.
