  1. I finally was able to use the Pro61 successfully at the mic input with a a CP8201 In-Line Transformer from Audio Techica. This is what you need if your mic is low impedance (300 ohm in my case). I do not know what the threshold is ohms wise but this inline adapter solves the impedance and converts from XLR to 1/4". Kudos to Jokeyman123 who originally suggested this.
  2. Ok I got the Mic to work by running it through an Avid Fast track solo and into the 3.5mm stereo input on the keyboard (the avid will take an iPod so I didn't lose that capability and will take a guitar too and adjust levels on the Mic and guitar separately) so now what Mic will work with the Mic input on the keyboard and not need a preamp?
  3. Bump. I'm still curious. With a blue million sounds on this thing and only the Hammond identified wouldn't it be a good idea to make a list of "this setting sounds similar to this popular keyboard from this era of music"? I know this isn't a modeling amp but guitar modeling amp forums (Vox Valvetronix for example) go to great lengths to describe what amp that they think "preset A" sounds like. I am a real novice and think that this kind of thing would be helpful.
  4. I just got back to this. I haven't tried any adapters other than an XLR to 1/4 that I bought with the mic. I read up when I bought the mic and thought I had the impedance figured out but I guess not. Good thing is I got the mic new and pretty cheap so if I have to get a different one I am ok with that. Any suggestions? Anybody using a mic that they would vouch for with the Casio?
  5. The mic is a dynamic and it plays fine on a guitar amp. I thought dynamics didn't need pre-amps.
  6. Yes both the main and the mic. I even turned the keyboard speakers back on (using powered monitors and a sub) and nothing. An ipod plays through fine so I don't know what gives?
  7. Ok so I got a dynamic mic (Audio Technica Pro 61) confirmed that it worked with a guitar amp and plugged it in to the mic input on the Casio and I get nothing. What am I doing wrong?
  8. Hi, I am new to the forum and had a question. Has anyone made a list of what Casio CTK/WK sounds come close to other famous keyboard sounds besides the Hammond B3 reference in the drawbar organ sounds. If someone has done this I think it would be helpful as it is a lot of work going through 800 sounds to find one! Is there a sound close to the Vox Continental? The Farfisa etc? Are any of the synth sounds based on the Casio CZ series? Thanks in advance for the help.
  9. First post! I had a CZ 101 bought when they were pretty new to go with my Atari 520 ST (so it had to be 1985 or near 1985) and at some point later I also had an SK1 Sampler that I used to be annoying!
