  1. Ted, the connector and adapter look good as far as I can tell. Haven't tried batteries yet. We had a couple of gigs during which I isolated the 3800 and had no problems. Since the freeze problem has been very intermittent, this small sample size is probably inconclusive. But I'm going to continue with the isolation theme and will report if the problem rears its ugly head again. Thanks. Billy
  2. Ted, thanks for the info and suggestions. I'll check them out. FYI - I use the 3800 for live gigs and, back on the power blips theme, I'm wondering if a cause of the freezing could be that I have too many devices plugged into the power strip. I'm going to attempt to isolate the 3800 from the rest of my stuff and see what happens. I'll post findings as appropriate. Thanks. Billy
  3. Ted, thanks again for your quick response. I probably used the wrong name when I mentioned the Casio Europe site. Unfortunately, it's the same as the International site in your response and I've used a lot of these rhythms. Is there actually a Casio Europe site which contains different rhythms? Billy
  4. Every now and then my WK-3800 freezes. By that I mean that it keeps on playing the same tempo, rhythm, tone, etc., and is unresponsive to pressing any of the keys or buttons, including the Power button. The only way to get it to function properly again is to unplug the power cord and re-plug it. I suspect that it occurs due to some very short power change (surge or drop). I've tried using a power conditioner, albeit a cheap one, but the problem still occurs once in a while. Has anyone else experienced this? Any thoughts on other possible causes? Solutions? Thanks.
  5. I've been using the rhythms shipped with the WK-3800 and have supplemented them with the rhythms from the Casio Europe site. I've looked around for additional rhythms, but no luck. Any ideas? Thanks. Billy
  6. Ted, you're my hero !! I was already running as an Admin, so I took your advice and created the path and directory listed in the error message. Worked first time - thanks a bunch. Billy
  7. I downloaded the IDES4 package for my WK-3800 and it installed fine. I then changed the Directory in the File/Preference tab to point to a different file location which didn't start with the default folder ( ProgramData ). When I next executed MDMS, I got a message "Can't create data folder" and it pointed to the folder/file I had just edited and saved in the File/Preference tab. I couldn't get back into the app to fix my bad edit. So I uninstalled and reinstalled the IDES4 package. Still got the same error message pointing to the same bad folder/file. I uninstalled IDES4 again and also checked for any other possible files which might contain my bad edit. It was a pretty easy search since it's a new laptop and I had only loaded a few other files. Same result: same error message pointing to my original bad edit. The bad folder/file obviously still exists somewhere on my laptop, but I can't find it. Any ideas? Thanks for the help.
