  1. There's a very active forum for the product with a "Free Version User Support" section where you can get a lot of help. I don't believe there is anything else available that comes close to the capabilities of Hauptwerk. I was amazed how capable the free version of the engine and various instrument emulations, like the Wurlitzer, are. The paid versions are quite expensive. I play with it now and then and am always amazed by the sounds and amount of MIDI control points exposed (for simulated stop and other controls - luckily you can also control them from the computer screen with a click). Many users assemble multiple MID keyboards, pedals & controllers and use multi-channel sound cards to build pipe organ simulations for churches.
  2. I bought an SK-1 about 20 years ago, intending to "circuit bend" it but never did. Still have it.
  3. I wrote a CZ patch edttor/librian for DOS (yes D O S !) many years ago. Learned a lot about MIDI SYSEX from that experience. Some years back, a guy from France contacted me at the email address I listed in the doc distributed with the program (offered free). He asked (and I permitted him) to use my code that communicated with the CZ in his Windows version. Still have my CZ101 but I haven't powered it up in years.
  4. If you are willing to learn a bit about MIDI, connect your keyboard to a computer, there a wonderful free 310 WURLITZER THEATRE ORGAN emulation available that will run on the free version of Hauptwerk. Getting everything installed and configured is a bit of a task but sound-wise, it's well worth the effort.
  5. I have a CDP-120 that I bought for home studio use and never really intended to use the on-board sounds much. Now I find I will likely use it live soon. The manual mentions "This Piano conforms to General MIDI Level 1(GM)" which suggests that it contain a GM sound set but even from a connected computer I am only able to access the same 5 tones that can be selected from the panel. I assume the manual is incorrect. Can anyone verify that fact, i.e. that the CDP-12- does NOT contain a GM sound set as the manual seems to suggest?
