Choppin
Since the PX-5x is the master, why would you loop the Audio interface back to the PX-5s? But if you want to send separate midi data (not the original thru data) back, then the origin must start at the Audio interface with it's own midi data - but it will not transmit to the Korg because you are sending the KEYBOARD midi to the Korg from the Px-5s - not the receiving midi from the Audio interface. You would need 2 outs for the Korg: Setup Px-5s [sys settings] USB Out [Midi] ; MIDI out [Keyboard] Px-5s(MIDI Out/Thru) --> (Midi In) Korg (USB Thru) --> Computer (USB out) --> (USB IN) Korg (Midi Out) --> (MIDI In) Px-5s Because of the looping back you want, the behavior may be unpredictable. If you can send to 2 USB outs from the computer, one can go to the PX-5s and one can go to the Korg with the intention that the MIDI is originating from the computer. Choppin
It seems complicated but it's not all that bad. Just remember, the PX-5s can either send midi information from it's own keyboard, or it can pass along midi that comes into it. It can only do both if you use MIDI out and USB - one port set for keyboard and the other set to pass along received MIDI data. You can't have both on 1 port. For example, you can't mix what you are playing with your hands with information coming in and send it all to one port on the PX-5s.
User 29303
OK ..i found a posting sying the PX5S does only midi true in one direction ? ......so using both USB & MIDI this can be bypassed ? My Intention is playing the PX5S while tracks from my DAW are coming into my Korg & PX5 playing the midi tracks from 5-16...so maybe having drums on the Korg and some other stuff on thePX5 while i play along and i record all to my DAW...Software
