DIGILOG

This is a set of analog style experiments for the PX-5S. Essentially the goal was to make is sound as alive as possible, by creating an enormous amount of randomization.
These Stage Settings consist of two zones. Zone 1 = Oscillator 1 and Zone 2 = Oscillator 2. Each zone uses 6 layers, each with different sawtooth waveforms spread across the keyboard, so even when playing notes an octave apart, it is unlikely you'll hear the same sawtooth sample. Each layer has its own slight pitch, envelope and filter randomization. This concept is duplicated on the second zone and with each of the parameters slightly altered from the first zone. This means when the filter is adjusted or the envelope is rising, nothing is happening at exactly the same time or the same way.
These are 4 templates and offer a significant amount of real-time control to explore and create your own sound.

Holiday Sounds

A few Holiday inspired Hex Layer sounds that can be used in any Stage Setting (on Zone 1 or 2).
The Xmas Cheer1 and 2 are the same sound except on version 1 the bells can only be heard when you play harder.
The Mannheim Keys: Synthy / Harpsichord combination with Timpani when you play harder in the lower octaves.

Sliders 1-2 control filter for the pad. Knobs 1-4 control the sound of the arpeggiated part.

Carried Away

An animated sound utilizing 3 arpeggios at once. You can say I can "Carried Away" with the arpeggiators tonight. Some special elements used in this 4 Zone Stage Setting. One arpeggiated part has the LFO Wah (very slow) which gives the part some nice tonal change while its played. A second part is using the "controller track" in the arpeggiator to pan it from side to side.

I took the sound I programmed yesterday, slowed the tempo a bit and added piano to a third zone
A Stage Setting using two zones which explores more into synth side of the PX-5S. This is a Trance Gate sound which makes use of the arpeggiator to repeat notes within a pattern. Stereo crossed delay is added for some additional spice. Now layered with the Modern Grand on Zone 3.
When playing this make use of Slider 1 for filter and Slider 2 for resonance.
Knob 2 will add portamento to the pad sound behind the gated pattern.
Slider 3 changes the octave of two components within the Trancegate sound.

After playing a dedicated virtual analog product from another company that shall remain nameless (you can guess by the title of this Stage Setting), I made this. This uses 4 zones. 3 Arpeggiators and 1 Phrase.
1. Drums: Using a custom phrase (just a simple 1 bar drum pattern)
2. A Hex Layer Synth with a Polyphonic Arpeggio - with filter movements in the steps of the arpeggio pattern.
3. Bass: Arpeggiated line
4. Synth: Another arpeggio
Pretty fun if you ask me.
