  1. Expression pedals have a polarity and some allow the setting to be reversed. I'd guess the Moog operates in the reverse of the intended polarity. The workaround would be to use the opposite MIN/MAX settings to counter the loud = soft and soft = loud behavior: MIN = 127 and MAX = 0. I bought the inexpensive M Audio expression pedal and it works without any polarity issues *AND* it has a reverse polarity switch on the bottom which might be handy on other future product purchases I make. 2. Manderson, Look for the parameter "SPEED" on page 15 of 16. Controller, Modulation Edit - SPEED Tweak the min and max values to produce suitable start and end rates. It's also useful in the DSP -> Rotary setting to tweak the rsie and fall accelarations. I also thing pointing the MOD wheel at the "LFO Rate" for the "Fooled Organ" HEX-LAYER Tone produces a swirly Rotary speaker effect. I just got my expression pedal and configuring the pedal to control these DSP's gives me an extra hand to fill out the organ parts. McDTracy.
  3. Thank you for the authoritative closure... I thought I read it but couldn't find it in writing via search. I wonder if it's possible in a future firmware update to enable this capability since it appears someone thought it could be a product feature. It sure seems like there's been enough time to correct the manual or at least create an ERRATA page. Until then I'll just put my typical guitar effects pedals in-line before the LINE-IN port(s) for quick recordings. I wonder if my little VOX headphone amp will make condenser and dynamic mic input useable as well on this port. McDTracy
  4. I plugged my guitar into the audio input and could see the signal was too weak at the highest setting. So, I added a VOX headphone amp. I learned by trial and error that I can't record the audio in channel to the USB media. So, I learned about the LINE-IN mono port and could make a recording playing along with a Music Preset song I made. The manual implied I could add effects but it appears that's NOT true but the VOX headhpne Amp has reverb, chorus, delay, gain (for distortion) and 3 Amp models. My only question is a confirmation of the LINE-IN effects capability: is the manual in error or can they be applied? McDTracy
  5. Can I download an install a PX-5X file as a starting point? or are the file types exclusive to the Privia model? McDTracy

    effects

There are 2 ways effects can be modified. 1. The "global" effects menu sets parameters for the available effects. Changes here are only demonstrated when that effect is currently be used by a tone. 2. Every tone has effects added. Edit a tone and you will see a submenu 1: to choose a specific DSP (digital signal processing algorythm) like Phaser, compressor, etc 2-4: set how much signal to send to the 3 major global effects: reverb, chorus, delay If you currently have a tone selected that doesn't send a lot of signal to reverb, chorus or delay and you change the global setting for one of those effects you won't be able to hear the changes. So, start by editing a tone to see how much "send" is going there and then modify the global parameters for that effect category. As confusing as this is, the capability to give the user so much control is pretty mind boggling after using other products that required add-on PC editors to do anything useful for customization and tweaking sounds. Of course, I'll probably spend too much time tweaking and less time making music as a result. McDTracy

    Modwheel

My MOD wheel action seems smooth across the range of motion. I did notice mine was shifted to the right edge and rubbing slightly so I gently pushed it towards the left and it shifted to the middle of the opening.
  8. I followed the instructions to program the MOD wheel to the "speed" of a rotary effect and have a couple organ tone'd registrations working. Linking the MOD wheel to the LFO effect of the "Fooled Organ" hex-layer tone seems pretty convincing. I'll look into uploading my efforts for feedback from anyone that has experience with a real B3 and Leslie combo for advice on slow and fast speed settings and the up and down acceleration details. tuning

Under the "Systems Settings* menu you'll find the "tuning" setting. Just touch the "440" field and use the down arrows to drop 80 tenth's to 432.0.
  10. Forum: I'm new to the PX-560 community and would love to see an example that targets the MOD wheel to the Rotary Effect. NOTE: I have seen the thread that explains how to do this but I'd like to see one someone has crafted to fully understand the implementation. I'm slowly learning to use the menus and have mastered downloading and installing files so that seems like a benefit to all: let a *super-user* show us the way by example. The Mod wheel's default behavior is jarring and out of character with your standard B3 expectations. Programming the expression pedal to control the rotary speed would be nirvana. Is that possible? I'd order one today if that's possible. McDTracy
