  1. It has 64 polyphony voices and 790 new sounds. The sound engine is based on PCM and has been supplemented with modern sounds. It is a keyboard, so it is equipped with 270 styles. Each Style has 4 variations of 2 Intro and the same number of Endings. The instrument will be compatible with MP3 and Wave files, and the most interesting thing is that it will be quite a budget keyboard with a 16 track sequencer. This means that we will be able to record tracks from A to Z on it.

Naturally, it will read SMF files.  Weight - 4 kg and battery operation

    Approximate price 600 Euro.

I have a request to Casio MZ-x500/300 owners. Can you upload a pack of Gospel Latin styles and then save them as single styles and share them on a free server or send them to petersohn@wp.pl.

    http://www.casioteclados.com.br/mundomzx/m/img/downloads/GOSP_Latam_500.zip

There are great pop and ballad styles here.

I will try to rewrite these styles and adapt them to the new Ct-X 5000/3000 series, and will of course make them available in the downloads section of the forum.

    DISPLAY 7” touch screen

    MAX POLYPHONY 256

    VOICE 1100 + 256 GM2 + 512 users

    STYLE 280 + 512 users

    Internal storage (256MB sample expansion)

It looks great. I'm waiting for the price and demos of sounds. We'll see if Casio shows the successor to MZ-X. The new Ct-x series sounds great but the display and operation is one big tragedy. The touchscreen is the basis of our times - if Casio doesn't understand it, I'm switching to another brand of keys.

  4. Today while doing style I noticed a problem with the sound of the guitar in Intro.

The problem is presented in the recording: https://picosong.com/wJE2W/

In both cases I used the factory sound WAHDISTGT3. If on Chord 4 I use Choir Aahs the guitar plays correctly with its sound - if I use Elec.Organ the guitar sounds completely different. It seems to me that on Elec.Organ sound a different effect is used and it influences guitar sound. In Mixer Edit the guitar plays correctly - after saving it, it changes the sound.  Has anyone had a similar situation? How to solve such a problem?

  5. Hey Silvano - it sounds great.
Say if this Guitar Loop can be used in different styles. How does changing the tempo of style affect the sound? Will other Guitars Loop be available?  Do you think Drums Loop can be used in Mz and used in styles?
I know that even in Genos, using loop audio is a lot of problems and needs to be processed in a few programs, it's fun for the persistent - is it the same in MZ-X?
Will this guitar loop be available for purchase? I know you are one of the most experienced MZ-X users and the sounds you create are great. It's great that you're constantly exploring its possibilities and creating something new. Thanks to users like you, I like this keyboard more and more.

  6. For many years I have been on many music forums - dedicated to keyboard instruments - Roland, Korg, Yamaha and several musical instruments related to various brands. The styles converted and adapted to a different instrument have been made available there many times, and no one ever did any problems.
If, for example, Casio in his new instrument Ct-X5000 used styles from Genos and placed in factory styles, it would have problems with copyright. If someone used Yamaha Genos styles to release a song without an agreement with Yamaha, that would also have problems with copyrights. Styles converted and adapted to Casio instruments will sound different and no producer will be able to claim copyright because they sound different than on the key on which they were created. The same law applies to styles for specific works - if they are available free of charge, there is no problem, if we sell them, we have to pay a fee for the given creator of the work - in Poland Zaiks is charged. But if we change the intro and ending a bit and it is different from the original song, we do not have to pay the fee anymore.

  7. EMC Style Works is the most versatile program for converting styles.

I used it many times when I had keyboards from Technics and I lacked styles. Ketron SD1/SD5 styles played best because Ketron uses only GM system. Converted styles from Roland E80/G70 also played well. The worst sounded Yamaha styles, so I didn't use them at all. I miss the styles in Casio from Ketron and Roland. I now have Ketron SD5 and there almost every style is suitable for playing - the styles are great, at Casio I don't use the factory ones at all, because they are weak. I used to buy a Technics Giga Styles Collection package and most of the styles were converted from other keys. Probably in older versions of EMC Style Works there was also a converter to Casio MZ 2000.

  8. Just listen to the new CT-X series and you'll see that the factory styles sound much better. The styles have been fine-tuned and use the sound of the new Aix sound engine. The MZ series can sound good, but it requires your own style work.  Casio Mz-x is sold out in many stores in Poland and can be bought at a good price. A few buyers have already written to me and cursed this key. They are surprised that the key of the Premium series (MZ-x 500) sounds so poorly. Casio MZ has cool sounds, great service but tragic sounding styles. Why didn't Casio update the styles, why didn't it bring the Global Rhythm styles to your memory? Everyone who bought this key and wrote to me quickly gets rid of it even at a much lower price, losing a lot. Unfortunately, comparing MZ-X styles to the Yamaha, Korg, Rolad Casio sounds like a cheap toy.  The Ct-X series is the right direction in Casio's development. I hope that a new model of the Aix series will come out with a colour display, sampleer and refined styles and will be a strong player on the market. I hope that Casio will listen to the voice of the users and will from time to time release new styles from different genres as the competition does. For now I have the impression that the company only cares about selling its products and then disregards us - you bought the Casio key, you have the Style Creator to do it for yourself.  Or maybe the company has not yet grown up to the service offered by the competition. May this change in the new year. Greetings and best wishes for 2019.

  9. In one of the topics you wrote a few months back that there will be one more update to the MZ-X series and the sounds from the Aix series will be added. Update 1.60 appeared but there were no new sounds.  I understand that this key will not be developed anymore because its production is over.

  10. Casio in the 90s presented keys at a similar level as Yamaha. Yamaha developed strongly and went ahead - Casio was left behind. Now he is trying to chase the competition, but unfortunately it is not so easy. The Aix series sounds very good, it has been professionally introduced to the market, there are many great presentations. Let's hope that based on this sound engine will also be created many new models from the higher shelf.

On the market of the educational model is growing competition, in addition to Yamaha and Roland recently entered the market also Korg with his model Ek-50. There are also many new companies that are chasing Casio - Medeli, Ringway, Dexibell. Casio should fight for a budget ledge from the Yamaha S775, Korg pa 700 and Roland Ea-7. A successor of the MZ-X series must be created with refined styles, good sounds, new percussion sets, a full-value sampler, great service and a good look like the mz-x500. Casio also has to look after customers who have bought their keys. Yamaha and Korg offer a rich collection of styles for their clients. Observing the forum, I come to the conclusion that the company's policy boils down to the conclusion: you have Style Creator and videos on Youtube - you will do it yourself. Is not it better to learn from the best, does Casio want to tie customers to your brand?

And what about the customers of the Mz-x series. A few months ago Brad Saucier wrote that an update with the Aix series would be released. Is something known about it? Is MZ-X already intended for withdrawal?

Recently I thought about buying a new key for my collection, I was thinking about the new Ct-x 5000 but looking at the display and user interface I decided to stay with the MZ-X series. At the moment I preferred to buy a used Ketron SD5 keyboard. When it comes to acoustic sounds, percussive sounds and styles for playing, the MZ -x series sounds like a toy at Ketron. I am waiting for the successor of the Mz series, if I do not leave, I will say goodbye to this brand.

It all depends where you look.  MZ-X Indonesia Facebook Users Group has over 2,800 members and is quite active with a nice file sharing section.

This is another reason why the successor to the MZ-x series should be created.

MZ-x has a lot of possibilities, but it's in the first place the aranżer / keyboard so it should contain:

    1. Good on-board styles - you run the keys and want to play - that's what Yamaha gives you, most styles are weak and sound bad at Casio. We managed to create a nice Global Rythms package - why isn't there such a style in the instrument?
To match the competition of Yamaha and Korg there should be at least 400 of them.

    2. The new sounds of the Aix module - mainly acoustic sounds and new multilayer samples of acoustic drums.

    3. A new set of effects - (available in the new Ct-X Series) will significantly improve the sound of the MZ-X Series

    4. The ability to use the entire memory of the sampler without limitations - now uploading more samples causes the sounds to disappear from the instrument and choke while playing.

    5. Using the registration without any limitations - is it not possible to save the registration on the usb memory as in Rolands?

    6. separate Upper1/2 , Lower1/2 buttons would be useful - but this is a secondary matter.

    7. Use the sliders to actually control the volume of the individual parts of the instrument.

    8. a larger touchscreen display - but of course it's a dream.

Better promotion of the new Mz-x series - although the keyboard will sound good, the new owners will advertise it the best.

Unfortunately, the current Mz-x series on most demos sounds poor - just like the old Ctk series, it sounds much worse than the competition of Yamaha, Korg, Roland and this is the main reason for poor sales.  When mz-x appeared it was underdeveloped and cost over 1000 Euro. - this could not be a success of the sale.  Casio should give you a lot more at a better price when introducing a new product.  I hope that Casio engineers and managers will learn from this.

  12. I can assure you that both Yamaha and Korg have forums dedicated to their keys - they are much more developed and have many more users. You can not only get professional help there, but also find turtorials, manuals, styles and sounds. Only in Poland I can find several thousand Yamaha and Korga forum members on the instrumentyklawiszowe.com forum - as the owner of Casio MZ I am the only one.  The MZ-X series is very popular for its simple operation, touch screen display, great look and good sound of the right hand. As an additional key it works perfectly. Casio has made the greatest progress of all companies. Yamaha introduced a new model s775/975 but the changes compared to the predecessor are practically minimal, Korg pa 700/900 introduced some innovations in relation to the predecessor but still the greatest progress in my opinion was made by Casio. Roland has a very strange policy and has stood still for the past few years.  The Ketron Sd9 sounds great but it is very expensive and there is still a problem with the instability of the system.  I support Casio very much. Even a paid update of the MZ-X series would be enough to introduce the new Aix tones, styles and features mentioned in the forum. I am the first customer to buy. It's hard to beat Casio among the experienced yamaha and Korga players, you can't give up a given segment after a single failure, especially as it was the Casio manufacturer who made many mistakes when releasing the Mz series. I really like the changes made to the Ct-X Series, especially the new effects system - which greatly improves the sound at the output. I think Casio should think about its customers and, like yamaha, create a page with additional styles and sounds.
I look forward to the successor to the mz-x series - please don't give up - the mz-x series is a really valuable and valuable instrument.

  13. When the MZ-X series came out on the market it was underdeveloped and had a lot of errors. Only numerous updates made these keys attractive for their recipients. There is still no solution to the problems of the sampler, another disadvantage is a limited number of registrations - which makes the key suitable only for amateurs, who treat playing as their hobby. This key is not comparable to the competition - Casio lags behind Yamaha, Korg and Roland, but has made huge progress. If they continued to work on the Aix sound module and introduced new sounds and updates, they could also become a serious player in the market for their successor to the MZ-X series. The appearance of new models would also make more and more companies interested in producing Casio keyboard software - which also affects the popularity of a given brand on the market. I am very disappointed that Casio has forgotten the MZ-X series market - but unfortunately they are to blame themselves: an underdeveloped instrument, poorly arranged styles, lack of promotion - all this has had an impact on sales results.

  14. The styles are very cool.
One of the advantages of the entire MZ series is that it is very easy and intuitive to use. Unfortunately, the sound as a whole is very weak and far from the competition (Yamaha /Korg/Roland). Casio Mz sounds artificial and without the use of samples nothing can be done. Only the new CT-X series introduces new sounds and a new effect system that completely transforms these instruments. Can I ask you to submit my FEEL FUNK style to petersohn@wp.pl ? I will throw in my version recorded on MZ-x500.

  15. Another novelty in Casio instruments is a new system of effects. Casio has introduced something that its competitors have been using for a long time. For me, this is a very big step forward.

The high-speed digital signal processor is also applied for each sound type, such as melody, backing drum and bass, or organ. Even the standard ensemble for a keyboard delivers distinct sound for each instrument for an expressive performance.
