  1. hi everybody

i am perfectioning my playing using reaper with many vst, triggered from mzx500 rithms.

Is it there a way to pre-set a rithm or a music preset so that when i select it , it comes out with:

1 - midi accomp out  ON

2 - midi keybord channel (out) n. 13 for example

    3 - controller: pedal2 edit: Expression; type: exp.pedal     ?

Does all this depend from PREload set??? and how?

    Thank you in advance, igor

  2. wow Brad! thank you a lot! i'll try as soon as possible! ....... I'm trying: i Turned on accomp out in MIDI settings , and opened REAPER DAW with a vst on one track. I see the reaper track that receives midi signals but i dont hear anything... maybe is some thing to set in reaper... i'll see   what do you think?

    1. Pedal settings are not saved in tones.  They are saved in registrations.

    2.  The pedal can control two parameters of one DSP effect.  Use pedal target 1 and target 2 to do that.

    3. Yes, the keyboard can work as a MIDI controller.

how can i play blue monster using other vst instruments instead of the built in sounds of mzx500?(in  drums, bass, chord1, 2, 3  parts...)

    1.  I don't think it's possible to put a DSP effect on tone 2 if you're using one on tone 1.

    2.  I don't think it's possible to put two DSP effects on the same tone.

    3. I think it can only transmit on up to 4 channels at once. (The four parts are usually on channels 1-4.)

How can you transmit these midi signals?

thank you for answers, i had problems with internet and could not see them before... i' m particularly interested in playing my own rythms  using a vst bass as TRYLOGY, a jazz set drum as SUPERIOR DRUMMER or EZ drummer, and other vst like kontakt, instead of the built in instruments of the blue monster. Is it possible? How?

  6. 1 - After traying a lot , if i have understood well, if i set the pedal2 (expression) to control wah effect in upper 1 for ex. , i cannot use it to control also distorsion in another tone(upper 2, for ex.) , (becouse it remain set as "manual control" ( of wah) , and it does not turn automatically to "Distortion gain" control as i set it for the other tone... Can i  avoid this problem with REGISTRATION function?

2 - is it possible to use expression pedal to control 2 different effects in the same tone? (DSP 1,2)?

3 - is it possible to use MZX 500 to control other midi sound fonts on 16 different channels?

A couple of details I didn't mention when using LFO Wah, on the tone edit DSP effect page, you'll need to set LFO Depth to 000.  Now when you set the pedal target to manual (should be on page 16/18), the cutoff frequency will be manually controlled by the pedal.

If that still doesn't work, confirm that your expression pedal is working for other things.

WOW! now all ok , thank you very much Brad!!!

ciao Brad! excuse me...  i tried to day to apply wah to an electric piano with the following actions, from your advices(i think):

1 - tone- effect menu - DSP 1 select -  LFO wah (but i tried also with auto wah)

2 - controller menu- pedal 2 type- exp pedal - pedal2 edit -enter - target- wah manual

but nothing happen . i think to have followed your instructions... Do you know what i did wrong?

  9. HI FROM ITALY

    1) is it possible to control wawa effect of a single tone by an expression pedal? if yes, how?

    2) is it possible to transpose of 1,2 octaves a single instrument in a recorded rihtm?  how, without changing every note in the event edit?  thank you

ZAL is an all data container file. It can only be extracted by loading it into the keyboard.  That will overwrite all of the existing user data with new data.  From there, individual user items can be saved to USB using the media save function.

in any case, it is impossible to hear any item, to decide if one likes it or not, before loading it into mz500- Isnt it?

Did you load a ZAL file or ZPK file?  If so, you will need to use the media function to save each tone from the keyboard individually, then load each one into the location you want.

ooooh, thank you! and if they are ZAL file?

  12. hi, as i very often touch the EXIT botton when i dont want, becouse of my big climber fingers, with loose of time and lot of nervous, i made this modify with scotch and transparent film... It works as a STOP towards right, and you can press it only when you really want. I'll check it.

  13. hy,

when i found new tones pack to download, i did it, without specify in which slot to send them- So now i have synt sounds in the user bank of piano and i dont know how to move them to their right category- any help?  thank you

  14. ciao, as  my previous question fell down into nothing  - as many other questions i pose on this forum - (i don't know if i'm so stupid or my questions are so stupid not to gain an answer) so now i 'd like to start from the beginning and i ask:

on the user guide is written that registration function helps you when you want to change timbre (and rithm). I need only to change tone, NOT rithm. But when i do it, ALL the effects tied up to that new tone make the rithm effect change, with ugly results. Is it possible to avoid it and chenge tone mantaining the original effects of the rithm i'm using?

    thanks
