Thanks for the reply. Hard to imagine this being the case but I'll test it.

Thanks for the reply. All sounds are treated exactly the same in my MIDI work -- in one track. 

Besides the piano sound of course, the brasses are what I love most about my PX-310. But trying them with Cakewalk Sonar 7, a shock: the instrument's all important trumpet sound is suddenly about 1/6 its normal volume! Going back to playing it manually, that sound works fine again. It simply won't sound forth normally with the MIDI. Sorry, I can't afford to replace the 310 with a later model. 

Yes, the other sounds work fine on and off MIDI. And yes the MIDI works fine with all my other keyboards -- been doing so for over 10 years.

Help! Please advise! Don't give me the silent treatment! I have a wonderful Windows 7 Toshiba laptop and use the incredible Roland UM1 MIDI interface, which has always worked flawlessly.

Thank you -- am having a great deal of trouble zeroing in on specifics of tone setting and selection, including poring over manuals. Once you've set all your registrations on a 700 or PX360, can you jump from one of them to another using only the bank button and registration buttons 1 through 4, as on my PX310? Can the wheel be use for bank selection here too -- as simple as move wheel to bank, press a button within it and start playing?

I sure miss the 12 "touch tone phone" buttons -- those 3-digit codes got right to the point.

Thanks for your info, Scott. Would you say that any power pack that plugs into a Privia's AC jack should be fine -- e.g. the Ravpower?

This brand gets great Amazon reviews....... Also, there's no provision for flashlight-type batteries  on my PX-310, correct?  

I think I read somewhere that you can adjust most any aspect of a given sound on it, but can't lay hands on how to. For instance:

---The harpsichord sound is beautiful but the built-in effect of slightly flattening of the pitch while you hold it (no doubt in imitation of the real thing) is too pronounced. Can this be changed? If it's a choice between that or a totally straight sound, I'd take the latter. 

---The string vibrato (heterodyne, whatever you want to call it) begins after you've held a note or chord briefly. Can I doctor fix it so the vibrato starts right away? 

---The harp sound is lovely in a low range, but laughable above about middle E. Would this take replacing it with a patch from somewhere else, would this even be possible -- etc?  

As a rank amateur, I'd advise you to take it to a professional for a look. I managed to fix my PX-100 (120?), but couldn't get it properly back together to save my life. Things (prolly nuts/bolts) rattled around inside when it was moved thereafter. Admittedly, getting a fix can be tricky. The Casio dealer in my town, a long-established independent music store, had hired a great tech but he ran the other way from my request. On a later Casio I've just been able to get a great fix in a nearby bigger city. Long-established two-store chain with Christian aura has an old duffer that's been fixing for them for 38 years. 

It's good to see a thread on a relatively low-numbered Privia. I believe in 'em..... as long as they have dedicated buttons for sounds 😉
