Hello forum, I have been watching a lot of casio synth video's lately. Those old cz synth's are awesome and the new big wk's are good too. but still for me the best synth's casio ever produced are the XW-P1, XW-G1, and PX5S. This is just my opinion.There is a subtle harmonic or something in the mid and lower sound's, cant put my finger on it, it isn't in the raw sample's themselve's, but the latter mentioned synth's have something analogish and special when you start to tap into them.

Beam me up Scotty!!! Those two fantasy synth's are awesome!!! I cant help but think if some of the creative people on this forum got together and formed their own synth company The result would be synthesizer's that are decade's ahead of what big manufacturer's are currently producing.

 I guess a few off the top of my head would be, Pink Floyd, John Lennon, Jeff Lynne, 70's 80's, Boston,Bee Gees, Genesis,Prince,

Wow!!! happyrat1, I am stoked now. performance mode did the trick. Now im triggering sample's from xw-p1 sequencer.This little mpx8 sample player is fricken awesome.(early Christmas present)       Thank's for alway's being there with solution's to problem's.            Have a merry Christmas.

Hi happyrat1,Thank's,it is hardware to hardware. I am  triying to trigger  akai mpx8 sample player from xw. I have midi in on sample player going to mid out on xw. They told me at akai, the mpx8 sample player work's on midi channel 10.  

Hi forum, this might sound like a newbie question, but im a little rusty on certain aspect's of midi. does any one know how to set xw-p1 for global midi channel 10? thank's a million to any one who can answer this question.

when in doubt a good ole factory reset is good trouble shooting.

 Hi David,  sorry to see that paint rub on your xw, After every time I get done playing, I clean my xw, with a soft micro fiber cloth, and a water solution with just a little windex in it.  Acid in the human finger's can wreck havoc on paint used in synth's. So far, the paint on my xw is holding up, but I suppose at some point paint rub's will start to show.

After saving everything as you described, try this,      go to SETTING, general, hit ENTER, scroll down to START UP, jog wheel to performance,then EXIT. This should save everything as a performance.Every time you start up,(turn on keyboard) performance mode save's it all, as far as the state of the synth. 

Hi steviedisco, are you saving everything to an all file? so far that's the only way I have found to save the intire state of the xw.   Are you talking about saving the phrase seq setting's? If so, you should be able to save everything exept chain's, as a performance file.

As goofy as the cat video was, I cant help but think, that little bugger was really trying to play that piano.    lol

With all the cool video's and other cool stuff, this forum is more entertaining than what's on tv.

That's one of the many thing's I love about my XW-P1, sometime's I take it outside, sometime's in the day, sometime's at night. I live way out in the country, and I just get lost in the phrase sequencer. I look up at the star's and start recording, or look at the tree's and blue sky. At night the xw light's up the darkness.

I love the retro of lava lamp's,  I also have a round blue plasma light to.  For me personally, I like lava lamp's cause they are like a fish tank, very calming and soothing. BTW DAVID your setup is similar to mine, in that there isn't a lot of gear. but you can do alot with it.

Wanted a good deal on a casio board on black friday, but I got thinking about it, it just wasn't worth the black Friday mess.  Stayed home  instead.

Hi Scott,   from your harry potter reference, I saw no disrespect at all, that's just me covering my own butt,   that way when I say I laughed my a** off ,  ( and I really, really laughed)  people on the forum might not think im being disrespectfull. I alway's have the fear people might take my sense of humor the wrong way.

I do not mean to be disrespectfull, I think Shawn Lee is a great artist, but  when I saw the harry potter reference I laughed my a** off.
