  1. Um, do you reiterate much? What do you think that "new", "reborn", and "reimagined" mean?
  2. NOW, it doesn't take ten years. But, from the MZ2000 to the CT-X series, it has taken 16 years and five sound engines to GET to "now".
  3. Wow! I feel like I've read a post which I wrote myself, particularly with emphasis on the ellipses and capital letters! Right on!
  4. I strongly suspect that the CTX Series will set a new bar though......
  5. And then there's those of us who rely on our instruments, whether they carry the title of "Pro" or "Arranger." I don't know about anyone else, but I just LOVE getting a "Pro Sound" at an "Arranger Price." I mean, does it make any of you feel better to want to plunk down a few grand on a keyboard, just so that it reinforces your status as a "professional?"
  6. I'm just gonna go ahead and get the CT-X5000. All this nickel and diming between the models gets confusing AND exhausting in a hurry. Or put this way. $500 for a board that has an excellent sound engine, to BEGIN with, is a much better deal than I've ever seen in the past. And THAT means from EVERYONE!
  7. Speaking of appearance, do you think that Casio is doing a "wink, wink" at the Korg PA700, by including red in its color scheme?
  8. There's bells and whistles, but I have always lived for a better sound engine in any keyboard. So, there's no sliders on the face-not the end of the world, but I was NONE impressed with the CTKs-WKs with the AHL sound source and the underwhelming 7 watt speaker system. Both rigs were colorless, lifeless affairs with only "panty hose" to protect the speakers from possible disaster.
  9. I would be inclined to think that a keyboard with "just" a 6 track recorder would also allow you to control track levels and pan positions. If not, it would be very useless.....
  10. "Manufacturers suggested retail price." Emphasis on "SUGGESTED" which means "not written in stone." Try this: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/CTX5000--casio-ct-x5000-61-key-portable-keyboard https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/CTX3000--casio-ct-x3000-61-key-portable-keyboard
  11. You don't "think"? https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/CTX5000--casio-ct-x5000-61-key-portable-keyboard
  12. Over the last 20 years of music technology being winnowed down and vastly improved, in order to offer the consumer an outstanding product, at an outrageous price, it is no longer necessary to offer "new technology" FIRST on the "nosebleed" models and THEN trickle it down to the rest of us "peasants" afterwards. Casio is doing something different then the competition, for once in a row, by offering a prime rib at hamburger prices, because the technology is now inexpensive enough to do that! Casio just broke an "old mold" into pieces and remade it, in their image. 20 years ago, "usually" was the norm. Welcome to 2018!
  13. Agreed! Get your sequence recorded and mixed like you want on the instrument and do the detailed editing for your computer.
  14. Speaking of polyphony, is 64 going to be enough for a keyboard like the CT-X5000, with the latest sound engine, over 16 recordable MIDI tracks? I mean, it just seemed to me that the 5k SHOULD have 128 poly.
  15. Putting a touchscreen on there doubtless would add at least another 100 bucks and most Casio's without a touchscreen did just fine.
  16. Don't mistake money for quality. At first blush, the E-Series *seems* like a good deal, but then you dig deeper and find out the truth, such as the fact the the E-Series 6 track sequencer gobbles up one track for drums only, leaving you with only 5 to do your music, from scratch, on. The preceding paragraph is what I reckon caused the price drop on the two E-Series keyboards. I wouldn't stop at the CT-X700 because you would probably be way better off with the CT-X5000, depending on what purposes you use it for. Yes it is a fantastic deal for the 700, but only up to the point where you outgrow it in 6 months.
  17. For fans of the X-MEN!!!!! Done on the CLASSIC CT-670 and the Alesis SR-16 Drum Machine. The beginning "rumble" is not an accident, nor a product of distortion. It is one of the string presets played at it's lowest register, octave-wise. Enjoy!
  18. Wow! Very nice work! Fanboy music and interpretations thereof, are ALWAYS my favorite kind to listen to. Maybe YOU should have scored BR 2049! Oh one little note. Mike Martin did the BLADE RUNNER titles on a XW-P1 ONLY, at least to MY knowledge. If I'm wrong or mis-informed, please let me know!
  19. Dude, don't play the "hold out game". You will NEVER decide and you will NEVER get anything done. THAT is the truth....
