  1. Hello.. I want to midi a module to the px5...I dont want to control any tones, change any sounds or do any type of complicated performance setup.. I simply want to midi the box and play it thru the 5..I will control each entity seperate. In other words, I dont want to hit a button on the 5 and change the tone of the module. I want to keep piano sound on the module and CHANGE tones on the 5 while Im playing switching between whatever tone I want to use. I simply want to play the sounds of the module w/out the 5 controlling in in any way. Im going to try this today, will go into stage settings midi, global and look around. Also, if I can figure this, will it need reset at every power on? Thx, I appt your kindness.
  2. Got them together. Thank you, I appt u taking the time. It was a great help. Have a good one!
  3. Im dloading them on my sons PC, put them on a flashdrive. Take them to my studio where the 5 is located. I dont use PC's, my studio runs all Macs. I imagine I could load them into a Mac, unzip, then go flash drive to the 5. Hey, Thx for the the reply.
  4. Thx, found that, appt youre feedback. By the way, if I dload a sound and its zipped, how does that work? Im not using a computer, simply the usb drive..does the keyboard auto unzip? I think Dave weisers bank is zipped, but I also dloaded a nice Rhodes Mk11, that one is zipped also. Im pretty new to this board, so your help is greatly apptd.
  5. Does the usb drive have to be formated in any way before the process of downloading a new sound to it, then placing it in the 5 to load?
  6. Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed and to the point direction on the split procedure. Sir, you are a gentleman, a scholar, and a nice guy. Have a great day. PS: I owe u a beer, or whatever beverage u may partake.
  7. The thing about the vids on splits, yes they r good, but all I want to do is simply change the sounds in the splits. The vids talk a lot about changing split points, ok, fine..they r fine where theyre at..I simply want to replace say, zone 1 has ac bass, replace that w/an electric bass, zone 2 has E Piano, I want to replace that w/an AP, adjust the vol, then save. I have a better understanding of it with an idea how to do this, so I will give it a try. No where that I can find says, "on splits, 1st we will put the sounds u want in their respective spots, then we will adjust the split points".. The vids show Casio's splits...How about a simple section called "How to create your own splits....from scratch"? No split button? Fine, 1st u do this then 2nd do this. Sounds simple to me. With my hectic schedule, it certainly would help.
  8. I will check this out, Thank you.
  9. Hello, I recently picked up a 5. Ive been using it simply as a practice piano in my studio using an AP on many gigs or a different setup. Im thinking of using it on some things coming up where I need to create splits and save them. Bank 6 has a few but none usable for my needs, so Im thinking any splits I create I can simply store them in bank 6, once I get the hang of it. Is there any way I could get simple step by step instruction on how to create a few splits, save them for easy recall on a gig? Im also interested in dloading the sound HerbieRhodes Ive seen somewhere, but 1st things 1st. This would be extremly helpful, plus it would help me to understand the board a bit better. Thank you, It is hugely apptd.

    PX3 Midi question

Ok, easiest way to do what Im looking for..internternal/external button..toggle ext off to change sounds on the 3. Seems to work much better than setting up zones. Quite a few of my fellow jazz/pianists from up north use the 3, im surprised there arent more users here. Am also thinking of trying the new roland module. Integra..but at 2grand, I should be able to drive it to the gig. The sounds of the 3 arent great, Ive found EP Pure to be a nice flat roads, alau eq it. Brass is ok, strgs suk, but these are all eq editable, so..

    PX3 Midi question

Mike, Its a Musebox. Thx 4 the info, I will try that idea. Are there any downloads availble still for the 3? i will spend some time w/the tones..right now it looks like piano3 is the stock sound I find myself using, so I may tweak that a bit. There r gigs where I dont use the module. Thx for your help.

    PX3 Midi question

Basically, all I want to do is play a sound on my module, and not have the px3 change the module sound everytime I switch a tone/sound on the 3. I call that turning off midi transmit. Every gig I do is different, so Im doing a different set of circumstances all the time. I have no need to set up zones, this keyboard doing this n that module doing something else. I play piano w/the module and ice other sounds from the keyboard, if any, to fit the gig Im doing. Guess that comes from the "old" days when I used a Rhodes suitcase w/a clav on top and an arp string ensemble with a minimoog and an arp odyssey on top of that. There was no such thing as changing all the sounds at once. U did everything on the fly. If I get into another tour type thing, I would be interested in setting up the 3 as a controller to do the things its capable of. Thanks Mike Martin. Appt your help, especially since youre busy with the 5.

    PX3 Midi question

Hello..so the idea of this product isnt an on/off button, but a setting up of zones for what you want in regards to my question? The manual states also, that all settings need to be reset after each on/off procedure as they are lost? So if Im layering..I use 1 sound on the module, but am switching Casio sounds from say strings to brass etc, I can set up a zone on the 3 and switch sounds easily w/out changing sounds on the module? Thanks for your time. Appt it greatly.

    PX3 Midi question

I recently purchased a PX3. Is there a simple way to turn off midi transmit on this box? I use modules and simply like to control them myself, so if there is an easy way to do this, Id appt it. Thanks.
