  1. I've been editing tones this way , accidently discovered the effects it has on the sound when the arp /phrase is on or not used.

The phrase/arp are quiet dynamic on how the tone filter or amp is shaped . I've posted a song called Solar and it has this edm stab sound made of VA synth 10.

VA synth 10 I've edited with initial level 105 , attack time 5 and attack level high ,  amp - decay 1 and 2 and a little release tail.

it sounds pretty thin and boring with little or no sharp hit when I press a key, but with the arp / Phrase it sounds bigger then i've

set it up. I've manage to make it sound as it sounds with the arp on but it isn't just as dynamic at the velocity level , I have this if it ain't broke don't fix it attitude towards that.

Its not suppose to be my work flow cause of given false tuning for all sounds it works for me but I rather not do it like this. Because it sound unexpected nice but different as well without arp/phrase. This way I keep tuning listening to the same thing over and over.

While its not how it has to be.

The arp I can adjust for velocity and with the phrase a midi editor works fine or recording phrase at different velocity.

I know its velocity that builds this dynamic with the phrase/arp opening and closing filter and amp,

I just can't figure out how to make it work with Amp and Pitch together editing the tone alone.

I also forgot most of the tones have resonance in them and since they more useful for pads, having them sound shorter might leave a clicking sound after worth either at start of a tone or on the end. Especially with building leads resonance adds a lot

with the created sound, Tones with resonant are easily forgotten there are tones with same name and different numbers added

that one indication.  For example Pulselead 11, Pulselead 12, Pulselead 21 etc.

  2. I'm constantly in a creative flux  on the PX5S but when you're listening to long on the same thing while editing.

you get stuck in a loop and need to take a brake cause it may sound good but really isn't.

I made this also another work-in-progress sound creation this the next day it sounds big but after a while I feel

something missing or to crowded and not done right yet, Less is more.

  3. Ok not everything CZ is preserved very well. But some of the info like that its an eight stage synth

is helpful. A few audio examples would suffice and figure out some hex versions with the wave

forms at hand. My XW isn't doing anything yet so that out of the picture.

Could the CZ retrigger envelopes , I actually know less about it's internals.

But there also the CZ app I suddenly remember :) and looking at so that manual can be handy.

  4. Is there a time limit doing that , Its not easy I like it. The CZ although legendary its old we have these other synthesis engine to do cool stuff with and somehow the CZ is in there as well.

    A car engine revving

    brake screeeching

    car crash

    ambulance

    seagulls

    dog bark.

those at least should be synthesized with the latest keyboards synthesis engine.

  5. Was eating my lunch just fine was skeptical until taking a look myself look at it , Finding myself murmuring the difference between "Discontinued" and "End of production".

Yes, it really would be nice if Casio had a synthesizer not lower than the MZ X500 level and with a large touch screen, at least 7 inches. Because we play, we grow and we want something more, but now Casio cannot offer anything in this regard and we have to look in the direction of Yamaha, Korg, Roland ...

Hold on with the "We". I believe there is well enough room with the CTX there still synthesis in there, It is a pity  MZ X500 and 300 aren't available. But there still is the PX5S and PX560 to look for I wouldn't write them off so quickly.

And the PX1000 and PX3000 are top notch, Do also not forget CDP S100 and such sleek slim design with a punch.

The design alone of the latest Casiotones and PX1000/3000 especially CDP S100 is beautiful and fantastic.  Realize what Casio has done here.  Me I can only fantasize the synth engine of the PX5S in a CDP form factor with 61 key's I would go crazy with joy.

Ahhh, I see ... so I have to like everything Casio does to be here. The 5 casios I have are not important? Criticism without insults and politely is not well received, right?.Honestly, there are times that fanatic users are the ones that sometimes take away your desire to belong to a group or buy from a specific manufacturer.

Nah got the same sentiment would get feisty as well with excitement. But the silly part is its all about seeing a glimpse of Casiotone 😂🤣😂🤣 there nothing there yet to get railed up about  😂. It is exciting that at least that is coming.

I guess if VST's are copying older music machines, and even Behringer is cloning many of the early analog machines for purchase-I guess uploading a few CZ "tones" here would be OK, even as someone else's samples? whew!

If Bheringer did that well I'm a sucker for vintage in a new coat. Sorry C. 😁

  9. All fired up for casio-tone come on guys , really.

I know I know but that's not how the market works

Every casio series has its own realm to provide musical

    instrument for.

Casio-tone steps in entry level no way it will act as an high level

product, Noooo. However these CTS rocks looks and sound with

a good headphone or speaker. I love the guesses though I really do.

Hahaha, the same has happened to me, I have looked at the web 40 times, backwards and forwards and I don't see anything new or any clue ... I don't know what Mike is referring to.

Same here hahaha even translated the pages for any hint to PX or anything with X in it.

As always, look to the Japanese site first if you want to hear about new models. Teasers and press releases will almost always go up there first. Sometimes even months beforehand, depending on production and release schedules.

Looks like we've got two new LK's, but that's about it. Unless something was kept completely under wraps for NAMM, which I wouldn't rule out, but I feel like we would have gotten a teaser to build hype if there was something big about to drop.

The LK-515 is a slightly updated LK-512. These are both Japanese-only LK models built on the same platform as the CT-X800, and they are advertised as specifically using the AiX sound source. The main differences are the lighted key lesson system, the dynamic microphone port, and the lack of custom User Rhythm slots (you have 10 on the CT-X800). The only difference between the 515 and the 512 is an updated selection of built-in songs; these iterative releases with new preset songs make more sense for the Japanese market, where the LK keyboards are also often used for karaoke (hence the little built in mic holder on the front panel).

There's also the LK-315, which, again, is a slightly updated LK-312 with some new built-in songs to play/sing along with. These are basically just regional variants of the LK-S250, with a cuter white/pink color scheme and preset songs that are more familiar to Japanese buyers.

Of course, these are Japan exclusives, and NAMM is a show primarily aimed at the North American market, so you won't be hearing about these LKs this week. Possibly ever, as there's no indication that the LK-515/512 will be localized for the western markets and the 315/312 already has a localized variant in the LK-S250.

Good to see that Casio is still confident in the AiX chipset, as that gives me some hope that we could soon see the AiX platform brought to other product lines that need an upgrade (the WKs are my first thought), or (in the best possible timeline), an MZ-X successor.

Those look like decent addition, I've noticed that the PX-S serie are showing what they really capable of.

Casio confident in AiX is certainly a relieve , The rate that some keyboards stick and others don't was quiet

rapid in exchange for the ctx and PX-S. With those I'm purely looking at how to shape you're sound and the surface control to build upon that for the fully professional and semi professional. On one sound to sculpture to your need  if it must sounding quiet powerful and focus fully on the music as intended like Tom Brislin does.

You now I can relate with the theme they went with Namm now , Music makes you think either you go with what in your head and play it , or shape the tones as imagined and play all of it.

  12. This stage performance I've kept it simple but the ambiance was something that took a while I'm happy with the result

after so many renditions , I've did not edit anything its as recorded on the PX5S listen with headphones  Thought it was a good vibe to start the year off musically. I've could do more on this stage but this one I have like 14-20 variants of it. (Oh this soundcloud account I kept around its quiet old, the rest of px5s bliss is yet to come)

  13. Can someone explain to me  how to use and apply musically non harmonious notes like ,

B / C and E and F. They don't go well together and I do not know cases in music theory about all four of them. So far they do nicely with other notes or when they not closely together. Any music or tune where they are commonly used  would be nice to know for study.

  14. Once a week or month I'll go to youtube and type in the search engine a specific keyboard and look what that week or months brought out.

And that on itself is ....pretty interesting to watch what comes out of that list there so many people doing music on their instrument every month

its huge, I mostly look for PX5S and XW-G1 and MC101 have that one also mostly various instrument programming sounds or sequences.

Youtube is a big resource for idea's.

  15. This video made me buy the PX5S its from 2013 it seemed so slick I instantly believe it was capable of remarkable things.

And now years later, Let me ad  first  I'm not a pro level musician , I cant play seriously good  but I love making music and keep on learning.

Its been a month and a half since I've came with some new stuff. And the latest casio  Analog style programming fired me even more up

Go at it and finish some of the stages and boy I'm happy with the result of some of them.

This video defines the theme I went with everything inside the PX5S any of the keyboards with hexlayers and some kind of tone editing

    that can deliver massive sounds.

  16. In the beginning I had the synth and it sounded great because someone else made wonderful sounds on it,

I could play with those sound, tweak them combine some of them call it a patch and was content for the day.

I couldn't fully understand programming synth sounds let alone piano sounds (still) I'm no pianist.

What was sound what was a tone what are all these waves.

What was an Filter , Amp , Envelope or LFO show it me I do it to  but

still nothing. Practice makes perfect. Then it happen.

Sounds my sounds every wave became the sound I wanted

every wave became a new sound a different sound.

I knew for sure getting close to the power of this stage keyboard

it had everything I didn't know how to use then and now it just

spitting it out and now I know where to look for these sound spectrum.

I got into electronic music tried to convince it to give pumping sounds...

it didn't my mediocre style had no pizzas to life up to that instead I had

stumbling cacophony of wishy washy rhythms and patches.

The idea to create electronic music fired me to master this keyboard.

Force it to show me the way of the sonic I where inexperience with.

Saddened to be it showed me to the standard preset where there were

none for me to go for, But still it pointed me out that way I reluctantly

abide to it and..... Again ive worked hard to get these pumping sounds

with the presets of tones , arpeggio , phrases , hexlayers and what not.

    Until one day.

To make sure I've repeated my steps stopped where I gotten and studied

the course that had been fulfilled here by enthusiasm then by knowledge.

Yes I started to see the things pointed out to me by this keyboard , Have I

been blind all the time. No I was inexperienced it knew and happily teach.

Falling on my knee's raising my hands to the sky .. EUREKAAAAAAAAAA.

My new still frail found skill and knowledge found fruition as I listen to

the pumping of the first a hexlayer drumkit a bass, pluck and gated pad blasted

out of the headphones all in one stage.

Look here I said while pointing a finger at the keyboard, For I can do also these

wonderful sounds given by the creators as I also am becoming one of them.

Now lifting the keyboard towards heaven as if it where like a heavy boulder ,

lightning surrounded and bewildering sounds like sines , noise and pulses  became

the thunder of coronation I laughed and laughed as if one reached a certain pinnacle.

                                                               THE END.

This weekend I'll release some of the narly electronic music patches and weekend jam

    from those. *(bows thank you)*
