  1. You know what I'm missing the bass synthesizer inside the MZ X500.

It occurs to me that none have shared experience from that unique synth.

I vaguely remember its also a hexlayer type of synth but monophonic different

unlike the solo-synth of the XW.

The PX5S  hexlayer synth (Very proud having this), Isn't able to do monophonic although

there are tricks to do it its not quiet it.

PX5S  has enough waveforms to make a narly synthesize bass. Like Dave Weiser Bass

pack also demonstrate and still up get.

I hope there is still interest doing bass sound on the keyboard like the MZ X500 or PX5S

I'm interested to hear techniques or experience how one go's at it to create a bass sound

    on their keyboard.

Only the dance boxes have arpeggiators, phrase composition-I have both an RM1X and MC-505, but for good piano and organ sounds for gigs-not so hot-passable for multi-track accompaniments and have full programability for sounds, phrases and multi-tracks. I don't have one, but the Yamaha RS-7000 older (and rather large) desktop device is very powerful, like the MPC Akai's but used are less money from what I see. Similar to the RM1X but even more programming and recording capabilities.

I don't have any newer modules that can do what these are capable of. Most rack or desktop modules I've seen-are clones of the keyboards in that series and do not usually have any additional automation functions.  I have been suggesting that Casio come up with such a module but except for the XW-PD's I know of no other Casios that have the features of the PX-S3000/560/MZ-X/XW/CTX series.

Stop saying things that make me drool dreaming about those 🤣😂

  3. Synthesizers synthesizers piano's. That what I do, PX-5S is my go-to for long time now.

What I learn on and want from the PX5S to find sounds I like or a soundscape to set a mood musically, Is

the thing to look for I also love to bather it to see what an adaptive synth can do like classic

sounds , electronic sounds, electro , experimental I'm on a totally different plane there. That why I like

to find new sounds for the PX-5S here on the forum some are fresh and nicely programmed.

This the only synthesizer within the range of Casio keyboards to use multiple arpeggio, phrase and DSP.

Only two hexlayers to stack sound though true , but I also discover hexlayer is another engine on itself ,

it might sound strange but there a difference editing a single tone and whats available there and edit a

hexlayer with range of sounds it has. four hexlayer would be better why for One , a massive orchestra can

be build , Two four different tones in total can be synthesized for a massive tone triggered at multiple levels.

Shet got enthusiastic and started a monologue sorry :www.MessenTools.com-Frutas-pianodance:

  4. I've been pondering about this for a moment but the PX5S has sliders and knobs and a hexlayer menu system.

On the XW-G1 which is the only keyboard from both G1 and P1 that can use its control surface to program solosynth.

It could have been for the PX5S as well for the hexlayer its a bit of epiphany when you're scrolling through them ,

Its quiet effective on the G1, hey why not page through each menu like Pitch, Filter, Amp and use the sliders to

    adjust value's for decay 1 , 2 , 3 and Release 1 , 2  and what not.

  5. Nope there no sync LFO , on tones there is velocity sense with Hexlayer there is also key follow but you have five filter types to play with both sound source.

The only sync that is available is with Delay in fact I posted something about it a long while back.

One of the best effects I've found on the PX560-is the "reflections" DSP. I wouldn't think so-as this effect i thought would be more towards ambience or reverb-but surprisingly it clarifies and enhances, especially the piano tones in th ePX560, even more so than the "enhancer" effect.

Yes same here I"ve started to use it a while ago cause I didn't understand how one of the sound Mike did was doing it  when I discovered it was early reflection.

It can even be used to give space among a few sounds I've tried it on all zones but that was getting to much but I love the way it gives space to a sound.

  7. Sounds cool actually, I've watched a few GEM SK video's certainly inspiring to recreate something of those sound on the PX5S as well.

Its not similar probably what i'm going to ask if you've used that on the PX560  but those keyboard had parametric  EQ and bass boost as MFX for that bottom

sound does the PX560 also have that as the PX5S does with EQ , Chorus and Compressor.

I've recently moderately using it and it improves lots of the stages created.

Was surprised these keyboard supported a variety of sample format guess i've stepped way to late in the game another thing ive missed.

  8. That I Like [PX5S]

    View File

Didn't even try hard here to adjust stuff.

An C2 triggered arpeggio drum pattern.

    A hexlayer piano (didn't edit it )

Some  bass dangling should done more to it.

    A modular-ish arpeggio sound

Did an MFX-EQ on the whole thing that the trick

    of maximus awesomeness.

Just wanted the feel to Rock like a rocker

MZ-2000 was the first with system effects (reverb, chorus), master effects, and DSP insert effects.  It could also stack 2 DSP effects.  :)

I see 🤔, With comparison to the PX-S and CTX DSP,  interesting development.
I remember that cool organ sound you did on the mz-2000 with the DSP Brad.

I also seen how the DSP on the ctx 900 sound with the ZPI engine its narly awesome.

Specially love the sound at 4:07

  10. I do forget that the PX5S also has MFX, It mostly gets untouched.

I needed compression once and I thought there is distortion but no

compression why didn't they put it in like master FX.

Behold I was to focused on dsp per zone I've totally missed each stage

can have its own MFX parameter assigned to. Could be wrong here but think the

PX5S is the first Casio keyboard that can stack two effects together these are no send fx.

But stacks like lego way .  MFX are Compression , Reverb , Chorus and Delay.

it doesn't work with all DSP together I've noticed , early reflection can't be stack

with Chorus MFX either that or I did something not right.

Funny thing to do with delay one could build a triple stack  using the arpeggio, Dsp delay and

MFX delay with different timing. or a Massive chorus if tuned correctly. Except reverb there can

    be only one.

How was this song created? It is very complex and satisfying.

I love the Casio XW-G1. But I still have a long way to go to create a song like Darkhouse Night Screech with just the XW-G1.

All was from XW-G1 using performance mode  , step-sequence pattern, solo-synth  and sample looper.

And some overdub recording on portable four track recorder.

I forgot about this one if I have time I'll do a repost from all sounds I didn't save the sounds right

doing this song some are on my download page still probably. The whole song is on soundcloud.

Thank you Brad, the Breath Noise certainly is part of a barrel organ.

what I'm specifically looking for is the sound you can find in the attached song at 1'40 min.

can you do a suggestion how to edit GM 073 to obtain a similar sound?

    thanks for thinking along.

I know this band love their music have fond memory's of them never been to a concert thought.

But I think you're looking for an convincing accordion sound that  in need for some hexlayer magic.

Hexreed layer 035 is a good start, program the first 3 layers loudest part with higher velocity and

the last layers with increasing amp sustained parts with lower velocity.
