  1. I'm reading this with great interest it's a sizzling hot topic , there no side to this as the topic is about upgrade ,Jose makes some good points but , but something are just not possible with an upgrade as the hardware is fixed like that. I do agree some design decisions that were good in previous keyboard are not standard in newer ones and should have been , there is nothing to do about that then just hoping someone will make good design decisions. Could make a  new topic listing these good design from all keyboards past untill now I know a few. 😉 Jose.

Good dance track for dancing around the house!

Thank you me myself I'm not dancing that much due to a bad knee 😅

Electronic music kinda my thing 🙂

Later this night I'll upload another one I didn't found good

that is until two stages overdubbed together made a hell of a sound

I got so many stages build but not all of them get through the selection

or got iterated so much with editing that they lost the sound as not

worth while to post or bothered with , but lately I've listen to all of the wave files

recorded on the px5s and found some really worth it guess

    I"m my own critic 😂🤣

  3. A little sunday cool electronic PX5S jam this is done with one stage.

(I've iterated a stage so much and this is what it became)

    Visceral.mp3

I just call this one Visceral X its played also with an custom patch from the XW-G1 CrunkyBass

should rename it to CrunkyBrass,  8bit Arcade is more like athmosphere type background music

for video editing something like this.  🤔 turn the sound of and play 8bit Arcade while the video plays.

    VisceralXbrass.mp3 8bit Arcade.mp3

  4.  I can't wait (well I can☺️) Have a ton off question if certain things can be pulled of on PX5S , about lfo and if midi 2.0 can be possible or not or if compatibility between hexlayers can be done with bank change or mapping selection and such.

  5. I saw this March Casio Q&A for the PX5S.

It left me still aware not doing it right with the hex layers to get a creamy sound , although I've manage an not so muddy stage with pleasant movement.

Knowing we have good preset as examples for Dynamics , filtering , movements towards a balanced mix.

Still I'm happy that the PX5S massive synth capability fills a need for synthesis even if it has two hexlayers less and fixed drums in one zone.

  6. I wish temp changes by controller could be select to reset after use the case

Its more desirable to use arpeggio with a specified note duration rather then tempo though.

For  the timpani I'll suggest giving more release for some room and choosing

arpeggio thrill and edit it to U2 with two steps and different velocity so it can be

triggered with two notes an octave apart.

    Good catch!

@XW-Addict  Did you mistype the address in your original post?  Or is it really missing the "s" at the end?

Those two mails are removed can't check them anymore the last mail from casio sent was from 2017 and its says casioforums@gmail.com

I guess Google mail a.i sees casioforums@gmail.com and casiomusicforums@gmail.com as a discrepancy. Either way the differences of the

address and the question of PX5S (official) all files. Gave the red flags away, I also know the forum software upgraded a while back maybe

something didn't go as it supposed. Double checking to make sure though, hackers try anything nowadays.

  8. The reason I'm keeping email security high , Google took measure preventing it from opening any attachments. I had one email that gotten compromised last summer took hard measure against these spammers. They not going to zombify my computer. 😤

  9. I was scrolling in my email and found two mails that seemed to be from casiomusicforum@gmail one from 5 Jan and one from 1 Feb both make reference on px5s all files one rating it the other asking question about it both emails have Mike picture which was really strange and suspicious for such email contend  that can't be, Google said it isn't sure it's from casiomusicforum and that it was probably spam.

That I didn't noticed this before unbelievable.

  10. Combined two stages with this here song, So to say.

Was building a stage where zone one had two separate voices hex plus drumkit.

And yes it succeeded with looping midi but and I'm still figuring this one out

I need two rhythms on zone one to play a drumkit and a hex-analog-ish-drumkit

There a stage with drumkit on zone one and the hex-drumkit on two both with

seperate phrase to play with in this case ive used Phrase drumloop 1 with

brush set and on zone two hex-drumkit with phrase drumloop 6. playing both

    gives a butt kicking groove.

I wanted both on one zone as I said that a success but now how to play a drumloop

for both with a single phrase with two loops in it I was thinking about using velocity

to see if that a go.

Ive recorded how the complete stage has to sound but even if it succeed it's with looping midi.

Here how its sounds like recorded and overdubbed. I've call it Drumulator cause the emphasis

was an layered Drumkit with Hex-analog-ish drumkit stage.

You could loop MIDI OUT to IN and control any one of the remaining parts, 5 through 16.  Each zone has its own configurable MIDI out channel.  I'm not sure if this will give you what you're looking for, but it's an option.

Looped the midi out to in and set it all up inside the mixer and the zone part of the stage,

And yes the PX5S allow zone 1 to point to channel 10 while maintaining a tone , drum  or hexlayer

it will play what is setup on channel 10 in this case the drums. Its a good idea to look at. I've also

would need two separate arpeggio's to do what I wanted though that the only hurdle left.

(So if u got another idea how to do that I'm all ears 😎)

Had an idea to record a phrase with two distinct arpeggio

at different velocity one for the midi at low velocity and one

for the hexlayer at higher velocity or vice versa still figuring out this one.

The polyphonic of the hexlayers is excellent to create what I want it to layer with.

If the drums where on zone 4 it would be a different story aah so many idea's. ☺️

  12. So I was wondering if the possibility of the current zones can be expanded it's a an idea but would it be possible for the engineers to implement zone one hexlayer and drum function simultaneously like a dual oscillator thing. Or hexlayer and tone but with tone limited to be monophonic all of this for the synth part it sounds weird in an interesting way.

  13. I saw a recent post Sound design with LOVE from Kurt_ader instagram for the following artist and keyboards,

and I saw Casio XW in the list was like aah yes that right there are somewhat Kapro sounds in the XW knowing

that is like its cool and Its still a mystery how they collaborated but still nice to know one of the  top sound designer

    sounds are in there.

MIDI 2.0......after studying the specs, how will this updated functionality be at all feasible with old equipment? So it can "handshake", higher resolution-Casio already incorporates high-resolution midi protocol in many of their keyboards-and players already say they see no audible or  performance benefit to it.  If it 'sees" a device that is based on midi 1.0, and simply reverts to communicating that way, it seems pointless to me at this stage of development.

I guess it's just that 2.0 consist of five modules on of those is handling 1.0 devices without getting unease to figure out what went different. If keyboard manufacturer see a need with all modules it go's in the board thus avoiding questions can I do this or that if it isn't supported. On the other hand if it means seamles connecting all 1.0 with 2.0 board without a hassle of midi box and such I'm totally for that. For example how novation mkIII 49/61 handle sequencing with multiple keyboards from one controller.

  15. I've listen to the MP3 its sounds like it has tremolo added is this one module only or are there any others in bypass.

Cause I've understand module send to one another crank up the wet level lower the dry set fine to double zero. I would have used feedback in pitch shift on the px5s to be sure I got the wanted effect right adjusting this value the pitch value is either left alone or adjusted for a particular song sound. The beauty with px5s pitch shift on strings it gives this separated bottom ooh sound.

  16. So recently I've delved deeper in the PX5S and love it. The only thing I regret is it take so long to learn the good stuff about this stage keyboard with synthesizer which is on my part but learning is good to get a step further with synths .

I've applied pulse width modulation with like every sound lately to discover thick modulating sounds. And here a video to remind how to do some PWM (for the hardcore of it).

and here something I'm busy with cause hey I need a project once a while its no finish (as usual and a bit sloppy its a Groove but demonstrate the nice sounds the PX5S can do i've used song mode as backing track and a stage  )  😄.

Einstein said-never stop asking questions. And he also said "Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution." This why I love creating music-one is only limited by imagination, not strictly by logic.  There still is no IC chip as complex and capable as one human being. the only reason computers can seem intelligent-is that we are capable of creating them that way. Our imaginations have always been the key to new understandings-that and mistakes! My limitations can pull me forward, if I can see myself beyond myself! Just prattling on.....its early AM here maybe too early!

Potato , patato but I feel you on that imagination is a crucial part, But also technique and how to apply that solid knowledge is built up through the years and honestly you're knowledge also like that and heck for some reason people like this seem to flock over here at casiomusicforum sharing their accumulated insight.  Oh boy i feel like that song rambling man right now 🤣🤣🤣

  18. The XW keyboards had an additional arpeggio accessible with multi-key I would love it if that concept came back in a similar way

but programmable through midi and at any channel like the mixer and is to be triggered through a pad controller as well. Also no fixed assignable's

sounds on one zone for drums and hexlayers good performance idea suffer from that if its two zone's only.
