How is your hand?
Much better, Sergey, thanks for asking! I'd say I'm about 80-85% strength in my hands. I can shake hands and do most things, but the body tells you when you're going too far.
You can hardly see the scars, really, and I think the surgeon was terrific.
I haven't checked the forum for a while, so I have to see how you're advancing... I'm still learning myself and getting a LOT of enjoyment out of my PX-780..
Best regards,

Thanks a lot, standstiladdie!!! The rhythm is from my PX-780 Casio, and I thought it was unusual. It took me a while to get into it... Prior to this one I used it in one of my covers, but I wanted to explore it a bit more. I've been posting my stuff in YouTube and Facebook, because I sense that there's a large tech part of the discussion, and I'm not so much focused in that area. My latest video is I hope you like it.

Beautiful, Tsquare! I can't imagine how different piano playing is to a left-handed person! Congratulations!

Welcome, Many! Bienvenue! I think it's awesome that you're learning the piano... Very nice playing, and you're learning reading also. Best of luck! Bon chance!

Thanks so much, Sergey! I'm still lost in the "Modes" discussion (I'm trying to learn)... I need sounds to put things in context. I heard Jokeyman's suggestion, and it sounded oriental to me OK, but so what??? They're just notes on a keyboard (our Western version I guess)... I still fail to get the significance of understanding what modes are operating, or even more importantly, HOW to use them, are they tools to use in creating melodies? Anyway... I still like m10538's suggestion of a collaborative video! 👍

Thanks a lot, m10538. It's funny you mentioned the TV... I've watched some of them on my large TV also (USB memory stick) and they look awesome! I specially like the Kayama works that I used in "Flight". Google is amazing in getting these graphics. I like the fantasy-type pictures...
Regarding the length, when I'm working on a song I aim to make it at least 1.5 mins, but it depends on the song; some melody lines are longer than others, and it also depends on how I structure the song itself. This one has a fairly short, simple melody line; I repeat it 3 times with a diversion in the middle (which is also short), and adding more would be too much. I like simple. But I agree that often they are short as a result. I'm sure one can stretch the song with proper arrangements, but that's outside my league...
Also, this is a hobby for me, and I like creating these songs really for my own pleasure. I don't have commercial ambitions, but it gives me enormous satisfaction to see the songs come to life. I listen to them all the time, and that is my purpose. So I try to present them the best I am able to produce them, so that the song can be appreciated clearly.
The rhythm is weird, and it took me a while to get in its "groove"... I hope it works. I'm trying to explore some of the strange rhythms that the keyboard offers... I just can't wait for next Monday to be over!

I was playing with the rhythms in the "World" category and I found this particular one (Mus) interesting. Never heard it before but it sounds exotic to me... Anyway, the melody evolved, it's a very simple one, but I like the minor chords. I added some "synth-strings" as a layer on the piano, and I'm learning to adjust the levels, both of the layer and the accompaniment. I hope it doesn't sound too intrusive.

BTW, I didn't hear the pops, and I thought it was a very relaxing music...

I actually miss the snow... as long as I don't have to shovel it. Those were great photos! The first snow I ever saw (no snow in Cuba) was a 17 inch blizzard in NYC (1960). I'll never forget it, and I did all the things you showed on the photos. But I miss the Fall the most.

Wow, thanks a lot, m10538! That was sooooooo relaxing I might insist they play it for me while I'm getting cut up... BTW, my operation was postponed a week until Jan 14, long story short they forgot to tell me about the pre-op tests I needed to get done.
That was a very nice video. I loved the photos and videos, and the ending was super!!! Congratulations! 👍 👍 👍
I'm working on a new song, believe it or not... I feel like I'm in limbo, not wanting to get into anything too deep until I get the operation behind me, but It's coming out nice (I think), and I just have to polish it off.

Probably not (I do not see any extra benefits)
I have subscribed for your channel on YouTube.
Thanks, Sergey. I also joined an outfit called MusicXray, which promises to submit your songs to "industry people" and get ratings for them, etc. I guess it's aimed at people trying to get into the business. I tried it but cancelled because I don't think their system works. I had a song rated very highly and never heard from anybody... Anyway, some people reviewed it negatively if you Google them. I'll stay with YT for now.

If you decide to register there let me know I will be your fun :)
So much has happened to me since you mentioned Reverbnation back in September, and it turns out that I tried to register, and they sent me an email to confirm the registration. For some reason, the email comes out in a weird format and I could never complete the registration. I tried again today, even with a different browser, and the same thing happens.
I have my "channel" in YouTube, and perhaps Reverb works the same way. Is there any benefit? I have my own web page using YouTube to manage the videos, so I'm not sure it's worth it, specially with all the registration problems...

I had forgotten about the discussion we had before, went back to Reverbnation and listened to "Saturday"... Beautiful.
I have to see what Reverbnation has to offer. Do you like it and is it worth it?

That was awesome, sslyutov! I like the different moods in the piece and some interesting chord changes. The last segment is my favorite. Congrats!!! 👍 Have you written other stuff?

Jeff Lynne made some good melody tunes Serg. When you have time check out Can't Get It Out Of My Head and One Summer Dream. I just know you'll love the Summer Dream!
Not bad... Never heard of Lynne.... I'm trying to remember what I listened to back in the 80s and even earlier, but I was not into a lot of stuff that was popular, like I never got into disco.
Anyway, I'll post a couple of sounds that I followed back then.

m10538, I heard a little Beatles in some parts... OK, but mind blowing? No, for me. Try Rachmaninoff's Second Concerto and THAT blows my mind!

I intentionally lowered the volume on the melody via the keyboard mixer. I wanted the arpeggios to stand out since I worked so hard on them, Ha.
And it was very well executed... I'm just partial to melody, and it's a very nice melody. 👍

I always have a point at which I have to decide what rhythm to choose and the tempo, and I like to experiment until I settle into something. My keyboard has a lot of rhythms, but many sound alike, although I've learned to "edit" them a bit... too much to learn!
I think you write more along the classical path, and I'm more into the popular songs, but I guess you also experiment the same way...
