  1. Beautiful photos to accompany the "zen"... I have a special affinity for Japan, for some very strange reason (I don't know what it is), but I love their aesthetics... A couple of years ago I went on a two-week intensive tour of Japan, and I hope I can return some day. It's just so far away...
  2. After my trip to Cuba it looks like I had to "unload" a few songs that reside deep in my Cuban soul... I'm glad I'm returning to composing, which is what I like to do. I hope you enjoy this latest one. www.sergiosongs.com
  3. Awesome! I'm so glad you like it. Thanks for listening. Sergio
  4. I grew up with many of these songs all around me… “Una Rosa de Francia” has been interpreted numerous times and was made popular in the US by the Buena Vista Social Club a few years back. This is my interpretation, I hope you like it. For more music, visit my page www.sergiosongs.com https://youtu.be/cH4OjHiAGag
  5. I should add some narrative to the video sometimes... With my own songs, I just try to pick images that fit well with the melody, but when I'm arranging a song or medley of known melodies, I really try to make the images relevant. It's so great that you give me some feedback because I'm really operating in a vacuum her... I really appreciate your comments! BTW, the dog photo just looked too perfect for me to ignore... 😀
  6. Thanks! I guess you had to live it to understand the inside jokes. I highlighted three songs that were very popular in the 50s. The first one is about the Cuban "bodegas" and the "bodegueros", and I found a vintage image of what they were (like a supermarket). The second one is about a corner in Old Havana that was famous for flirting and pick ups. "La Enganadora" is about a woman who uses padding to improve her "image". The final one is about an April Fool's prank in Havana in the 50s that the radio announced that Martians had landed, and they had a fake flying saucer somewhere. The song is about the Martians landing, all of them dancing the cha cha. I'm glad you liked it. Brought back a lot of memories.
  7. This is a trip to the past... with a bit of humor 😉. Remember "cha cha cha"? Here's my interpretation of those times: https://youtu.be/BSSre86G34g Visit my page www.sergiosongs.com for more standard songs and my own compositions.
  8. This is a mashup of two very popular Cuban songs, my interpretation: For more music, some standards and some original songs, you're invited to visit my page www.sergiosongs.com
  9. "La Comparsa" is one of many songs by the greatest Cuban composer, Ernesto Lecuona. This is my interpretation of the gorgeous melody. Visit my page www.sergiosongs.com for more music, including my own compositions. I hope you enjoy!
  10. This is my new song, "Souvenir". I hope you enjoy... For more original and standard songs, visit my page www.sergiosongs.com
  11. I'm still learning about the various rhythms available in the PX780, but frankly that's one area that I find somewhat limiting... I would like more rhythms and ability to create my own. I'm surprised as to how similar are many of the rhythms available. I've been meaning to research into the "next step" in terms of equipment I may need, but I just don't feel that I know enough with what I got... I'm not professionally trained; self-taught and I play by ear. There are many tones I can use and I've been experimenting, but I prefer the sound of the regular piano. I do have used overlay of strings (subtle), but like I said, I'm still learning. Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate to hear how others hear my music.

  15. Thanks! That's my mom at the end of the video. The composer dedicated the song to his mother, and I did the same.
  16. This is a Paraguayan song that I heard recently after many years and could not get it out of my head. The composer dedicated the music to his mother and I dedicate my interpretation to mine. If you enjoy it, visit my page for my original songs and some standards. www.sergiosongs.com
