My favorite Halloween costume is Frankenstein. Way back when I was a kid, I wore it every year.
What about Bosen, he was into dorf erotica...

I too am curious as to what pianos were used for the samples. I asked sometime ago, but never got an answer (proprietary secret?). Part of my understanding of the quality of the sounds is due to the 6x over-sampling, where many top brands are only 4x. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable can explain this...

Do you take aspirin? It is a known cause of tinnitus in some folks.

I have all three updates. They are the original zip files so there aren't any changes to the software. They are 1.10, 1.11, and 1.12. These files are rather large so the only way I can get them to you would be as an attachment to a regular e-mail. The Casio Support site does not appear to offer the pre-1.12 files. Also, there was this note:

I have also noticed something like that with G above middle C with the VelOffHarpsi . The upper partials sound rather harsh.

Again, many thanks Scott. You are one busy dude! ()

Many thanks, Scott. I'm not sure of how to access the sites you set up, though I'll figure it out. Blood-Pudding, I'd like to hear your performance of Gabriel Faure's Op.78 “Sicilienne”. I'm very fond of his Requiem. This is another great thing about the PX-5S, it's ability to record wav files.
I've also been working with the concert grand piano tone using the “piano effect” for a fully opened lid, sympathetic resonance, and damper noise. I'm especially pleased with the interplay of harmonics between the “strings” when the “dampers” are raised. For me, this is the soul of the piano sound, the "shimmer", if you will. I'll also apply these effects to the harpsichords and clavichords as well. I love this piano!

I would like to use both approaches to see where it takes me. For example, the OffVelHarpsichord with the Hex WindsBrassStrg sounds pretty good without any editing with some of the Bach pieces I was experimenting with yesterday. The PX-5S, it seems, lends itself very well to both solo and ensemble combinations. Hey, thanks for your interest Scott!

I would be greatly interested in a sub-forum dealing primarily with the production of Classical music using the PX-5S. So far, in the genera I have found it to be a powerful tool for the production of Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms, not to mention Chopin etc. etc. etc. Classics anyone?

Hey, I ordered mine through Guitar Center and it took a week for me to get it, via UPS, but it was well worth the wait! What an instrument!

Hi. I just got my PX-5S a week ago, and I'm totally impressed with it. I bought a Hamilton floor-type music stand for $40 (US) and it works beautifully with the PX-5S. It's fully adjustable and can easily support music books etc. as it has a large, solid music rack. By-the-way, this is a great forum for the PX-5S and I plan to use it as my main source for practical information. Thanks to all for the help!

In a case like this, the drummer would need to follow the PX-5S using either a dedicated keyboard monitor, or keyboards mixed in the drummer's monitor.
