  1. Hi everyone.
We love that people use this forum to share music made with Casio instruments. Unfortunately we can not continue to host the large video files that have been posted here. Please utilize Youtube or other video service and share the link here. If you wish to keep you videos private on Youtube and only share them here, simply make the videos Unlisted on Youtube and we can all still enjoy them here.

The size of the video files has been a major strain on the servers and caused issues with our backup systems.

  2. The first solution is to make certain that it is a DATA cable. It is extremely common that micro USB cables are for charging only.

Secondly, if there are other USB MIDI devices in your system note that Windows has a USB MIDI device limit.  Each time you plug a USB MIDI Device into a USB port you're using one of available 10 locations. So even if devices are not plugged in, they're still using those slots. Commonly people use up those slots by accident and no additional USB MIDI Devices can be used. This requires that "un-connected USB devices" are removed manually from the Windows device manager.

  3. There are no lithium batteries in the WK7600 no need to worry about that.

In terms of protection the keyboard, there are companies such as GATOR that make flight approved (ATA) cases for a variety of keyboards. So if it will be checked luggage this will be the safest bet.  Personally I've also flown Casio keyboards in their original boxes without issue.

  4. To clarify, they're both using recordings of the same instrument. The CDP-S360 actually has a LOT more memory and additional velocity layers dedicated towards the piano sound over the CDP-S100. I suggest you might experiment with some of the other tone variations, as the default "Stage Piano" tone is a bright version.

  5. I would also suggest trying to turn OFF or turn down "Hammer Response".  I was not aware that this would make a difference via MIDI but what you're describing is a piano specific nuance that truly makes the touch to sound connection better with the built-in piano tones.  An acoustic piano does have "latency" - the keys don't function like on/off buttons there is momentum and time involved with the mechanism leading up the hammer strike.

  6. Thanks for the share @Chas

The XW is so wonderful. I do believe that exactly patch was recreated in a PX-5S factory preset, but it does NOT sound the same as it does on the XW. There is a character to the XW's sound that just works, especially in context with other instruments.

switch the Leslie effect from slow to fast the same way. Simplicity is sometimes best. Trying to cut back on music equipment, every time I re-visit the XW it stays.

I don't have it any more but the GSi Burn effects pedal was MIDI controllable. That was always my go-to Leslie simulation because of the ease of integration.

despite what others may say the acoustic and electric pianos are a pleasant surprise

Electric pianos specifically, just take one of the factory presets, reduce the release time to make it snappy.  Really, nice sound!

  7. The memory capacity of the CT-X700 is 40,000 notes per song, and it will hold 6 songs. You're exceeding this?

In regards to the keyboard action and white / black keys - this also seems very unusual. This keyboard action has been used on countless models for about the last 10 years and I don't recall anyone having such an issue with it.  I don't have access to a CT-X700 right now, but I could could get access to one after Thanksgiving to help you troubleshoot both items. Feel free to send me a PM.
