Upper 1, Upper 2 and the Lower part each of their own selectable DSP. In regards to Rhythms, those created on the CT-X series should load in fine.

@Executor I'm not sure where in the world you are. In the USA the CT-S400 is $249. For $130 more the CT-S500 adds: 1/4" outputs Bluetooth Audio and MIDI ($79 option on other models) Expression Pedal Input 3 assignable Real-time control knobs Programmable DSP Effects for 3 parts - Correction it is available on any two parts at once. 200 additional tones including those that were previously only available in the CT-S1 Sampling 64 note polyphony (vs 48). The PSR-E473, I'm sure is a great keyboard but.. It is significantly larger and heavier and doesn't have any Bluetooth MIDI or near the DSP capabilities of the CT-S500. In the USA the prices aren't out but it is expected to be the same near price as the CT-S500. If the larger speaker system or some of the feature of the PSR-E473 is compelling to you, go buy it. You have options, no one is forcing you to buy a Casio.

The CT-X700 display is not backlit.

People commonly connect the IN/OUT ports from their MIDI interface to the wrong connections on the keyboard. OUT from the keyboard should be connected to the INPUT port on the MIDI interface.

The PMP-400 does not have a USB MIDI port. You'd need a USB to MIDI interface of some kind.

If you were to attend a NAMM show yes the music instrument industry does have a higher percentage of men. Walk into your local music store it is likely the same. I can't explain it but I do believe this has been changing in a positive direction especially in the last several years. Laura Clapp Davidson and I met 15 years ago or so when we worked at TC Electronic. She's one of the best and I was so happy she was involved in this launch.

Hi Vinciane (and everyone), Just so everyone here is clear - Brad isn't an employee. He's one of several co-founders of this forum and Casio America helps to contribute to keep the lights on. We all spend time here because we love Casio products. The whole point is users helping other users. So anyone could post the manuals or demos in a new thread. @Executor I understand exactly what you're saying and we're always looking to improve in that regard.

It depends on what part of the world you're in. PX-5S, PX-560 and MZ-X product are still available in the USA. One of products that is the topic of this thread will definitely be added to the synthesizer section.

All the time I spend on Facebook groups and answering questions on this forum are outside of my job. I can also say my opinion for free and as I've already done throughout this thread. You're hung up on the name of a product rather than what it does as an instrument - an instrument haven't even heard it yet.

O'Neil. No one is forcing anyone to buy anything. Your objection to the product seems to be the name. These new models take some of the features of CT-X and improves them. If that doesn't interest you then don't buy one. Like CT-X these are not beginner instruments.

There is nothing about the upcoming instruments that is a downgrade. As you've seen from the pictures there real-time controls and much more that has yet to be unveiled. These also aren't replacements for CTX instruments. The Casiotone line provides a different solution.

It's not the wand, it's the wizard. How many examples of hit songs that were written and recorded on Casio / Casiotone keyboards does it take for you to understand? I'll try another analogy. "The Best camera is the one you have with you" and for many people these days that is their phone. The latest iPhone and Samsung "phones" are incredible cameras. Can they do what a modern Canon / Sony / Nikon mirrorless can do? No, but does that make them toys? Absolutely not. Casio / Casiotone keyboards represent a solution for so much musicians, of every skill and budget level. Larry Goldings - pianist for James Taylor was on tour last year and bought himself a used Casiotone for working songs in the hotel room at night. Later he got himself a new Casiotone CT-S1. These aren't toys to him, they're instruments. There are countless other professional musicians that use Casiotone keyboards in similar situations. Jordan Rudess, Steve Weingart, Larry Dunn, John Mayer, Steve Lukather to name a few. (Money) Mark Nishita has over 70 Casio keyboards! Casio instruments are often designed to fit a very specific price and market. Sometimes that means the instruments don't do "everything" perhaps they way all customers wants. What some people call limitations, others will call opportunities which inspire creativity. In the process of working on the release of these products one of the artists working with one of the new instruments texted me this: "Seriously , this is the most fun I’ve had making / discovering music in a very long time". In my career, I've worked for Kurzweil, Yamaha and several music software and music hardware companies. I can say without hesitation that my job at Casio has been the most rewarding. I've seen these instruments change peoples lives. If you think these instruments are toys, the problem isn't with the Casio it's with the user.

The CTX-5000 is not an audio interface. It isn't possible so send Audio over USB to this instrument.

I'm not exactly sure what you're saying. It is as simple as this. Casio makes instruments for musicians at a variety of skill levels. Some may suit your needs, some may not. Luckily you have choices of many brands. With products Casio introduced earlier this year like the CT-S1 they've managed hit a magical spot where both beginners and professionals are buying it - it is a fun, affordable and inspiring instrument. These upcoming products will meet and exceed the requests of many users since the CT-S1 and other Casiotone products were released. It has MIDI clock capabilities and much more you won't expect. Since you don't have the product obviously you don't know what you're talking about.

1. Not currently possible 2. To add songs, they would need to be MIDI files (.MID format). There are many sites with free MIDI files or files to purchase. 3. Not sure what you're asking here. There will be some Casio App updates soon. I'll post info here as soon as I am able.

I can't speak for Casio Europe specifically but the CDP-S360 won't be available here in the USA until late February, early March. I would guess that Casio Europe is on a similar schedule.

Have you contacted the dealer where you purchased it?

Get a third party wireless MIDI adapter from CME or other company. For around $50 you can add BT MIDI. For even less you can add BT Audio to the Aux input.

Windows 10 or 11 by default does not support Bluetooth MIDI. There are some third party utilities LoopMIDI and MIDIBerry that some people use. I'm mostly on Mac these days so I haven't had an opportunity to diagnose it myself.
