The group in Tokyo is aware of the issue and is working on a software update.

Check the preferences page of the Editor. This will show you the path where the files you've downloaded should be put. Then you can move them over to the P1.

It will be available here in a few minutes:

I'm trying to transfer this over to our YouTube page now.

pfontain2, Very sorry, I deleted your post by accident. I put it back. Then I banned a whole bunch of IP address from Russia. -
Hey guys, I'll be away from the forum for the next week or so. Our friend Chaos who helped us get the forums up and running will be trying to get to the bottom of the spammer/hacker issues while I'm away. In the meantime, make some music.

I'm having someone look into it. This is not a "Casio" site. This is a site that user set up for us. -
Yed, The XW series by itself can not reproduce a vocoder effect.

My first not so good impression

I never said anything like that. The distortion or low level is highly unusual. Which input are you using? -
Hmmmm. Works for me.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to give everyone a heads up that I'll be traveling a lot starting tomorrow. Luckily there is some vacation time included in the middle but I've got travel scheduled for the next month that may mean that I'm not visiting the forum here as much as I have recently. Hang in there, I'll visit when I can. Make some music while I'm gone.

If any of you are in the Austin Texas area next week, Casio will be exhibiting at the Music Gear Expo. It is free and open to the public. For more info - http://sxsw.com/music/expos/gear I hope to see you there

Yes, absolutely. Edit your Solo Synth tone. Scroll down and you'll find a section called VIRTUAL CONTROLLERS. This is where you can setup a modulation source for the LFO rate. Here you choose your source such as modwheel, then choose a depth and destination. You destination can be LFO rate. Note that if you want to use a knob to modulate the LFO rate there is an extra step. The only way you can change the a knob assignment is from Performance mode. So edit a Performance and choose Controllers. Change the knob assignment to a unused CC like #35. The in the virtual controllers section of the Solo Synth tone make the same CC#35 the modulation source.

Don't forget that the PX-5S does something extremely unique. Regular footswitch pedal inputs can be used like expression pedals. Casio calls it an Envelope Response Pedal. So as the name suggests, you can assign an envelope to the footswitch. This can be use for swells, filter sweeps and more. So if you're playing piano and strings you can have the strings swell in and out at a predetermined rate...up to around 16 seconds. This rate can also be adjusted on the fly using the sliders or knobs. This is how the wah-wah effects are done on the clav sounds on the PX-5S, it is incredibly musical and a great feature.

After the reaction from the PX-5S version, I re-created sequence part of this using the XW-P1. I'll also convert it for the XW-G1 tomorrow. In the file which is attached you'll find that there are three files. There are some things you'll have to do. 1. Load the three files into your XW-P1. On the Run.ZPF - This is the Performance Square+Hihat.ZSY - This is the Solo Synth patch On the Run.ZAR - This is the custom arpeggio The tricky thing about sharing Performances on the XW series is that the Performance doesn't know which objects specifically are associated with it. It just references the location where something was. If you don't load it into the same location as I created it in, then the Performance won't work. So after you've loaded in the Performance and the other 2 files, you're going to need to edit the Performance. Press EDIT Scroll down and select Sequencers Choose Arpeggio Mark sure that the Arpeggio you see on this screen is "On the Run". On my XW, this was User 0-0 Exit Back to the main Performance Edit screen. Select ZONE Edit Make sure that Zone 1 has the Square+HiHat program selected. Save your performance It should now work. The song was in the key of E. Press and hold E3 (the one below middle C) and move knobs 1 and 2, and also check out the modwheel. Only two oscillators are in use in this version. #1 and #4. I ended up just using a hi-hat sample because I couldn't get the noise oscillator at quite the right pitch. On The Run XW-P1.zip
