  1. Whoa whoa Brad what? 50 samples on a drum set up???!!! Omg yet another thing i didn't know... I was like 'nah im not big on drums', but if i can use my 50 samples on a user drum, that would mean i can do what i also do with my MF-keys with a single tone, and save my MF-keys for other actions WOW!
  2. Thanks Brad i will deff give this a shot
  3. I got the P1, G1, Kaossilator pro +, but still need my KP3 to have my light show ready to go
  4. Yeah! Im loving the multi function key tool. Its so awesome for live play . I should have explored it earlier...
  5. Arrrgg replace channels with Part. I meant PARTS as my synth states. Also if you plan on sequencing becareful with parts 8-16 since its those are sequencing parts, and changing the tones also changes the tones for your sequences unless your sequence was meant to play with those sounds you selected.
  6. Hello everyone I just wanted to share this info for those of you who didnt know. On the G1 on a performance you can use channels 5-16 as zones (kinda) when using your multi function key!!! You can use your zones 1-4 to make a very phat sound of your choice, then go to mixer while on performance and assign other tones to channels 5-16. While this isnt anything new, however in the G1 you can use your multi-function keys to play those channels as a zone using the 'Note' tool to select the channel (for example channel 6) and the key you wanna play on that key stroke. Yes i know nothing out of the ordinary yet, but let me finish . You can assign those channels to play sampled wave files from the User banks U:200-209 of your choice (Even chords modified in audacity). The possibilities for this tool are so many... All I did was mess with my factory Performance U:0-1 and i noticed those crazy sounds from my samples coming out of those channels i never used before on my keys, then reverse engineered it Enjoy playing with this tool. Im sharing this cuz i had no clue about this and i've owned my G1 for a year . It saved me from spending lots of money getting another tool to do this kind of thing, and i hope it can do the same for some of you. Lesson learned: Explore my G1 before buying another product. It probably can do it
  7. I like the wabbliness on that bass at 2:14. Sounds thick
  8. David maybe you should write a new user manual. That was very informative. MIDI manual plz
  9. Oh wait actually i forgot to mention that you can do this sound on a P1 as well. I think your P1 also got the MelowSawLead tone. The only thing you wont have is the multi-function key for effects or sample play. You have the hex layer at your disposal tho so you can save 1 zone for it and make something even more amazing like a real time morph into something else. Oh boy actually im gonna go now do that on my P1.
  10. The G1 is an amazing machine and you really can do almost anything wow. I keep finding new ways to do stuff every day with its sampler. Just amazing. Do you know what a launchpad is? You can turn the right side of the keys on a G1 into a mini launchpad and play samples like you would on a pad. Im actually working on that right now. And i thought i needed to buy a launchpad silly me! The multi-function key is the best thing that has happened to me as a musician. Also i recently sampled my Alesis QS 8.2 sounds into my G1 and it sounds just as amazing, and i can manipulate them in a way i never could in my Alesis cuz the G1 is that much easier to use
  11. Hello everyone. I've learned a lot more than i ever thought i could from a forum and im glad i've found it. I know i've been making a lot of posts lately lol, but i was such a noobie. I think its safe to say im no longer a noobie and im finally a beginner level XW-G1 and P1 player. Ok now back to topic. Im trying to make a perfect loop so that when i sample my sounds for my G1 it sounds perfect! Sadly im terrible at looping so it really hurts my sound quality when i hold my keys for long periods of time. I get 2 major problems when im trying to loop something in audacity. The waves are not aligned at first and i get a 'pop' every time my section loops. If you snap your index fingernail and your thumbs, you get a similar popping sound like i do every time my loop loops. My second issue is when i try to fix the pops. I fade in and fade out the endings and align the waves on zero, however instead of a pop i now get a small moment of silence and you can tell something just looped. Im trying to make it seem as if the sound is constantly coming and not looping when you hear that short silence and starts over. Is there a software that will help me make loops and do that stuff for me so its perfect? Im trying to sample my Alesis QS 8.2 sounds which are amazing, but it weights like a truck so I've dropped it and its damaged. Thank God i can still play the sounds for now... Any help will be greatly appreciated. These sounds+my G1=game over
  12. Im trying to modify solo synth sounds and samples but i keep bumping into this 'Rel Time' Rel Lvl' and i tried playing with them in the data editor, but they do absolutely nothing nothing. What are those for? Also I noticed in my little graph in the editor the Rel Time and Rel Lvl changes always come after a line like this one - - - - - and this line i havent been able to change at all. What parameters are these? I noticed anything after this - - - - - line has absolutely no effect on my sounds. Thanks
  13. I gotta admit the Xw synths look badass. I also got a Kaossilator pro plus and plan on getting a Kaoss Pad 3 Pro, and i tell you its gonna be a light show here. Lights blinking everywhere
  14. Lol thx for the tips. Truth is i spent most of my life terrified of MIDI cuz i couldnt make it work in the past lol. I just tried to do everything by hand with 2 keyboards for live performances which greatly limited cuz they werent MIDIed and i only got 2 hands. When im done with all this its gonna be an all new me
  15. Ohhh thats good to know as well. I was planning on getting my KP3 as well lol. Thx for the heads up SmoovJazzy55. Im gonna go get me a router
  16. Ahhh thats good to know! I was so far just using the 2 sequencers individually, but synced. I will deff try and learn to MIDI them aswell.
  17. I learned to control my Kaossilator from my G1's multi function keys using MIDI and its amazing. I need to buy 1 more MIDI cable so i was wondering if my prediction will actually come true. -Internal Clock- My P1 is the master sharing its Internal clock with my G1. Now lets say i get that other MIDI cable, is it possible to MIDI my Kaossilator from my G1 giving it its internal clock being shared from my P1? I tried it with my G1 being the master and giving its Int Clock to my Kaossilater and it works, but what im trying to find out is if i can MIDI 3 devices sharing the same INT-CLOCK from the same source like this: P1-MIDI-G1-MIDI-KAOSSILATOR, P1 being the master clock. Has anyone attempted this set up? I dont know if this is what people refer to as Daisy chain...
  18. Im in wonderland with my synths I've been learning my MIDI lately. Im amazed at all the things that i can do when my P1 & G1 are linked together. The most obvious thing that i've noticed is that i can do more complex stuff without overwhelming my synths since i have them split the load 50/50, reducing the chances for lag or them going out of sync (If you have actually taken it that far like i have) I shall call my set up from now on XW-PG1, cuz thats really what it is
  19. Lol Thanks both of you. i dont know how i came up with Out to Out MIDI haha...
  20. Oh and by the way im doing Line out to out. Is is out to in?
