i wonder if the samples of the PX5S are compressed , 128MB of space is not so much but the Px5S Sound are damn good...so is this the A.I.R and the Effect Section the Raw Samples can´t held a piano like this,,, of course you could say who cares ..but if i pay 1000 Euro i like to know bit more about my Stage Piano ...all the other brands informs about rom / ram size and more..

not shure but have you setup all the sysex info for midi ? Device ID and Basic MIDI chanel and then trasmitting to the chanel of the Keyboard.. and viceversa ... also selecting midi / On -Off for the USB & DIN Midi Ports...so many settings..to take care...

looking the data sheet shows the Line input of the PX5S passing a Filter then an ADC and it goes into the A.I.R Chip well could it be possible to trigger with exernal sounds ? ....

what could be an alternative for the PX5S with loading sample ram ?

thank you krullebolle very good point of view,,,and yes maybe PX5S will remain like it is and so my next Synthesizer will be with an optional upgrading slot or download of samples and waves...there are some out there loading the stuff on the fly,,,or like NORD i really like the PX5S but it was made very fast and how MIKE told us there was minimal improvements in the 1.11 update they changed so much why not another update bringing this to a higher level....in 4 years i will buy a new synth because i need a 2nd one and then a 3rd one and .....

shure,,,,the piano sample can be big inside the PX5S on the other side if there´s a NAND Flash / EEPROM with 1 GIG it could store the samples and the software? for why the second Gigabyte of Ram ? maybe for the Arpeggios the SongPlayer and so on.. i am not an expert so maybe some "leaks!" could be nice,,,

one is the W97 1GG5JB-25 from windbond a flashram with 1 GB and the other is a EEPROM from Toshiba a TC58NVG0S3ET A00 also 1gb i wonder if the EEprom is used to be loaded into the flash ram on power on ... the toshiba is a Nand Flash so it can be programmed by a very heavy programm.... i dont think we already use the full 1GB of space ,,,,hope really we have some additional tricks inside this power Synth Stage Piano..

we have 1GB of Ram/Rom space inside the PX5S i wonder if this is completely used by Waveforms... MOTIF / KORG / KURWEIL have sometimes less of space ( 128 -500MB ) and the have 1000-2000 Waves inside. Maybe MIKE can solve the question a bit...also i wonder if connector C1 is used or opeen for Future Updates... Kindly MauVan sorry my error not 1 GByte but 1Gbit ( 128 MB )

well i think Noise is the most hardest Waveform to crack normaly generated by a noisegate ....anyway there are so many harmonics inside .....i think that´s why there is no changing of the Pitch if you use a Pulse and you screw up the cutoff you have a self oszilation with a high resonance now if you go down to 30% in the szi cutoff the sound get nearly 0 in my PX5S... i have made some test yesterday with an Oszilloskope and the sinus is more then perfect also the other waveform are what they should be .......

so this is cool ....Triton 64 MB sample ROM ....Motif XF6 761 MB sample ROM ....KORG Kronos 30 GB on FlashDisk inside of samples PX5S ? who knows we have 1 GB sdram flash inside from Winbond and also 1GB EEPROM ( programable rom) . 1.11 update was some around 107 MB and there was added some new samples ,,,in theory we could have a lot of samples inside using the 1GB. I think the software by iteself can´t be so big so maybe we have around 700MB of samples in the PX5S if the flash is fully used ... What makes me wonder windbond flash cost about 2 $ why is it so difficult to add 4 or 16 GB of sample ram in the synths ? we play around with sample pianos on the PC/ MAC using 2 -4 -6 -32 GB of samples... and in the Syntesizers we still play with nuts..... Anyway there is also a JTAG insinde on the MainBoard so the System is open for software updates. ,,,and i am not shure if the Connector N1 is used or free for future updates..... I hope MIKE will inform us how much of the 1GB sample RAM & ROM is actually used ....

on the Analog synthesizers the Filters are the bread and butter for creating sounds,,,,only think about the legendary MOOG filters or the Emu Filters.....on the PX5S the filter should be Digital and software based ? am i wrong ? So the last days playing with different waves from Sinus to Noise i found the filters does not really change the Sound of the Waves like i a was thinking...also on most of the Waves the Filter is also subtracting the volume eg amplitude of the wave i dont think this is good because trying to soften a wave end up with and really low amplitunde of itself...why ? is this a problem in the filter programm ? i never found on other Synths the amplitude is changing so hard... we also have PulseWith waveforms using this mosty needs to add a PWModulator to chance the sound of it is there space in the PX5S to add some filters ? like a PWM Moludator and a nocht filter or maybe a switch to select 2 filters in raw or paralell..i know this is not a synthesizer but a stage piano but ....so minimal changes can give so much more sound possibility´s... P.S today playing with a sinus wave some strange is happen: there was a changing of the waves sound only on the C3 - F3 this can´t be because a sinus wave should not have any changes using a filter, it does not have any overtones .. So how good are the filters on the PX5S ?

using an OTG Cable some of the Midi programms are working out of the Box..xpou can give it a try using midi monitor and you will see android is recognizing Midi messages,,,,the problem is the driver....IOS is burn from Mac´s OSX Software and there is the core driver inside...of course the mac´s was always first choice for musicians...and Google does not care about musicians....they are selling informations and and all your datas theycan get with Android....so why making a MIidi Audio Driver they can´t sell your music it is under your property.......

HI Mike and Japan Is it possible to have some technical info about our PX5S ? ....sample Rom size ,,,,conectors inside ? samples 16 bit ? 24 bit ? i am not willing to open my px5s for now thx... ah and a technical sheet * hhahaha

i just ask myself how cool would it be having an 50POL Adapter inside the Battery Place and having the Topcover fof it beeing different Modules to plug in yeah.....analog synth.....expansion for sliders, Ribbon controller, Piano Extension Module and so on ....Rompler....... Immagine

i am actually trying to programm a sinus Organ ,,not using the Organ waves but setting up a Hex with all layers playing a Sinus Wave,,,for now it sounds cool i will post my patch soon but i wonder how to setup the register i mean the pitch from one hex layer to another..... example: Layer 1 tunded 0 layer 2 up 2 semitones layer 3 up 4 semitones layer 4 up 8 semitones layer 5 up 16 semit.. layer 5 up 32 semit... or is there a fixed difference between the registers of an Organ ? ....

Yesterday my PX5 lost some settings and all my sound was like a mickeymouse under the shower without bass and deepness,,,so i recalled the initial settings by reseting the PX5. If wonder if reloading now my last Backup ( Full one) will overwrite the Compressor and EQ settings again or will this stay like the basic settings,,, Is there a way to recall only the System Settings,,without pushin reset on every entry of the EQ & Compr? ...

the only way i know is putting you Cat on the Keyboard und pushing record...... well nope you have to do it by yourself....or using Phrases you can convert by the Editor Software...

Do you like making Music oder showing the Brand on Stage there are Bands outside using a black tape to dont showing the Keyboard Brand...i think it is so abnormal thinking about a new name....Casio is Casio and they are on the Market since the early years of synthesizers who believe in them will buy a PX5S and others who not...wil get a Korg or Kurzweil.....i have made my choice and i am very happy with it and proud for the name ; CASIO on it.....

well i have my PX5 for a while now and i am impressed more and more, the possiblity´s are amazing and we are still scratching on the surface of the PX.... there are just little things i miss now first of all i can not get in love with the Song Recorder an sometime i really ,miss a simple Drum Seqencer to have some fast tracks to play with it....like in the PX350. The Programming is good and there should be only a deeper modulation possibility for the Wave..like wave shaping or a delayed start point immagine having 2 Hex Layers with 12 tones starting delayed....and modulated with LFO and the Arp:) Dream Sounds will come out.....
