m8, you have TOTALLY misunderstood this conversation - I suspect English is not your first language - It was about whether the sustain pedal jack could use half-pedaling devices. I already advised that I was using the Exp Jack FOR AN EXPRESSION PEDAL!!! I acknowledged the SP-34 but also wrote it was too expensive here (well over $120). Brad actually answered it way way back and i was fine with that. I have a standard Casio sustain pedal already! So before getting into a "huff" about your advice not being listened to, or feel you have been slighted, READ the thread and stop being so enamoured with your own responses. Sorry to be blunt, but sometimes it seems, it is necessary!!

There is apparently a list of the 310 music presets somewhere....does anyone have a link? I have the Built In Music Data list - but it just lists tones and drumkits. No preset performances or so-called presets anywhere. Checked the link at the top of the forum to see if the one there is different to the one I downloaded and it is...it DOES have the listing. The one I did, did not! Must have been corrupted some way.

Before I start setting up in iOS, can someone advise if the S3000, when in split or layer mode, actually transmits on two channels or just one? I looked at the manuals and the MIDI spec sheet and to me, it did not seem clear cut. So if anyone knows for sure I'd appreciate some advice that way. Thanks

Thanks but I don't have a CTX5000 and I actually need the expression pedal jack for, well, an expression pedal I appreciate what you were trying to show though nonetheless! It's fine I'll either just stick with the old Casio "switch" type I have or see if I can find a cheap SP-34 - they are near $100 down here.

Trying to find the 3000 midi in my DAW, but it is not listed as such. There is something called just simply USBMidi...I've tried connecting that in the DAW but I am getting no data coming in. Is there a setting in the 3000 to turn MIDI Tx on or off? Oh and on the subject of MIDI, when in split mode does it transmit on two channels or just one?

I've just tried both a Yamaha and Roland sustain pedal (both do half-pedaling) and I tried both polarity settings on both pedals and neither work with it? These two formats usually work on pretty much everything, not seemingly the S3000 though? What half-pedaling pedal DOES work with it? Thanks

In duet mode the sound is split to the left and right speakers. Does it also get split on the main audio out jacks?

Thanks Choppin. It is interesting to note that controllers/keyboards that have the CV jack, - and that data is coming IN to the device- send that data out the MIDI and/or USB ports. I had thought of the method you described, but wasn't sure it would work...nice to get it confirmed it will, thanks! But, I WAS trying to avoid having a convoluted iPad interface going on haha! I'd need a USB hub then a MIDI to USB adaptor (to connect the PX midi out to the iPad) and also to connect the PX USB out. Totally do-able but it just starts to get a bit messy. Still, cheaper than one of those devices I linked to as I have those components already. Thanks again to you, Brad and Jokeyman, it really helped to clarify it.

MIDI Merge/spilt does not work either as there is no way to get what is coming in to midi in to USB out...and afaik, not even anyway to get midi in to get sent to midi out (no midi thru unless I am mistaken) I have two merge boxes of different types. No solution there. I am using the MIDI Expression box to get expression pedal and half-pedalling into the PX. And this works fine, it's just I need these to go to my iPad (from a PX exclusive iPad Stage Setting (no Gen out on all zones) .

Sorry to resurrect this Brad, but I had cause to try this again, and when setting the USB to midi, NO notes are transmitted? Seems the only way to transmit is with it set to KEY, same goes for the MIDI port. It's certainly not the best controller going around hey ;) Do you know of any other tricks so I can get notes AND what is coming in MIDI in out to the USB port? Thanks

Well , got it all sorted - got bass out left keys/synths out right separate channels on the mixer, very cool. Much more control now. I might now even set zone 4 to run exclusively to the iPad for synths and organs and have even more live control.

thanks Jokeyman - after some experimentation I have found it seems just reverb that is only stereo, the others (at the system) level seem to be able to run with the panning, but not a lot of response....Insert in the DSP seems to be ok, but as we all know, you've only got ONE slot so very judicious use needs to be applied...

Reason I am asking is I am setting up using a mixer with on board efx, and I have the zones set hard left and hard right to control from the mixer separately. I have also turned off all the efx on the PX-5s, however I noticed, accidentally, that EQ effects seem to just go with the sound setting, IE they are not sent to left and right...Is it possible that some efx are mono and only get sent according to the pan of the zone? I mean, I understand efx like rev and delay, chorusing etc etc are stereo, but tone control ones maybe not? Anyone have any knowledge or thoughts on this? Thanks

I am setting it to on in System Settings, but at every reboot it keeps resetting back to off as does the touch setting and filter (which is why I need Auto Resume ON - to hold those settings) Is there some way to "hard save" it somewhere to ensure I do not need to go through resetting at every keyboard boot?

ZOMBIE ALERT... Sorry guys but for some reason my settings completed under the System button on the PX-5S refuse to "stick" every boot it changes back to something, maybe factory default? All I know is the settings I change are not getting saved. If I have read the manual correctly it is not necessary to save a stage setting to save system settings???

Ok, so I have the Rotary effect in place in the DSP for an organ, and have set the mod wheel to spin up and spin it down, and when I launch it as a stage setting (SS) it works as programmed up and down no issue, BUT when I placed that (saved as a usersound) same sound into another SS (ensuring all the controls are set exactly the same way) the mod wheel spins it up ok, but then does not spin it back down again?? IE it simply stays on. I cannot find any reason why this would be so. Surely the sound should work whether in a stand-alone SS, or imported as a sound into another SS (with the controls and DSP's all the same), yes? No?

Brad, is it possible then to send out USB instead, what is coming in to the MIDI port?
