  1. So I have resonance set to slider 2 (0-127 and it is checked as active) in a stage setting for a piano. However no matter what the slider position it does not change resonance at all...is there some system wide "block" setting for CC controls?
  2. Does the alldata.zal save all system settings and midi preferences etc etc thanks
  3. Just go the the voice tab (at the top) when this opens you will see a DSP tab for the voice This assumes you are using the Editor program - HIGHLY recommended if you don't
  4. How would I set a single slider so it raises the volume of one part, but lowers the volume of another? Thanks
  5. Cool, thanks Brad. That would explain it when it cannot be saved hahaha! I will use the volume instead. I guess in "real-world" situations the audible jump for 0 to sound on will not matter
  6. Yep that fixed it thanks - supplementary Q please? I have the volume of the part set to 45, but the expression (which is what the slider is for) is set to 0, however when I load the SS, this part comes on at the preset volume level...seems the expression setting is not recognised when the SS is loaded. It works after loading the SS, but only when I activate the slider manually? I tried using volume (CC7) instead but there is no smooth level transition from 0. IE instead of a gradual level increase you can actually hear the "jump" from off to on...how can I get expression pedal slider setting to actually be active when the SS is loaded?
  7. Thanks Brad - can you expand on this please m8 - Check that only 1 target of the slider is assigned to something afaics there is only one target available in the editor screen? Yeah I have the slider , in this case, off for everything other than this specific control on this part. Dennis
  8. I have a slider assigned to control delay, BUT even though in the editor I have set slider one to the delay setting (CC94) whe I action the slider on the PX it also controls the amount of distortion that I actually want to stay constant. Any ideas please? Thanks
  9. Yeah, that works Brad - just wondering why I cannot get the editor to save the same thing via USB - I will keep working on it, bound to be something simple hahaha!
  10. Okay so I have a SS using a piano(part 3) that has a DSP set to delay...save the SS to the PX-5s but the piano part still shows the DSP as Enhancer...I thought a SS over-rode voice components? But even then, the actual voice has the DSP saved as delay. So why won't the PX-5 accept the DSP change? thanks PS: this also ties in with another issue I have noticed with the editor when trying to change the DSP for other SS's and parts - when I change it there is no response from the PX I have tried to use delay in several sounds but it just does not respond...is there some master DSP on/off switch somewhere that I am missing?
  11. Great article by Mike, thanks for the link Scott, although now that we are so close, I think many will wait for NAMM in about 10 days to see what Casio is releasing then Dennis
  12. thanks Ray - I did find a good one created by Better Music here in Oz, but they covered none of the basses and guitars...might wait until NAMM and see if Casio release/announce the PX5 successor!
  13. yes I am aware of that...I am asking if anyone knows of high quality and not ones recorded with a camera microphone!!
  14. I am seriously considering changing to the 560, but I am having trouble finding high quality demos (I have heard the piano demos at Casio) but Im looking for the guitar, strings, bass, organ and other instruments. Can anyone suggest websites for these please? Thanks
  15. Hi Scott, I have edited the hex tone, and am using it in two different SS's - in this example I am modifying the release time and then re-saving the hex tone itself, then saving it to the first SS. When I open the second SS even though it has the same Hex tone loaded it keeps reverting to the previous release time. Dennis
  16. It seems that when I load a Stage setting, it over-rides settings previously made in a hex tone - is there any way to stop this?
  17. Version 1.00

    128 downloads

There is an Octave Piano in the iGrand Piano from IK Multimedia, and I always liked it. So I thought I would try one on the PX5s - version 1.00 so I will probably make changes but if you do download and try I would appreciate comments - criticisms are fine too
  18. Yep owned an s90es and apart from the arps, PX is a better beast in pretty much every other way
  19. Further to Scott and Choppin - also make sure the USB cable does not either cross or run close to a power cable.
  20. On the PX are you using the mini-jack or the Line-Out jacks L/r ? and the USB on the PX is not plugged in? If this is so then again I say the noise is being caused by the USB soundcard and your PC's USB bus, NOT the PX. Until you sort the USB noise issue on your PC it will stay the same. What sound card are you using?
  21. hmmm...I use the PX 5 MIDI in/outs (no USB) and have no probs with noise at all...I also sometimes use an old A-70 with the same MIDI in to the PC and again no noise....your problem certainly seem atypical for sure.
