  1. Auto Resume is ON - must have been having a senior moment. Just turned it (PX) off and on and High Res stayed set to off...Dunno why it was on...thanks
  2. In another thread I was told the system settings stay in memory even when the unit is turned off...viz Touch settings etc, however the Hi-Res midi on/off seems to always default to on every time unit is turned on. Does this mean it (even though a System setting) seeds to be set in every Stage Setting? Thanks
  3. That is great news Dave, thanks - sounds like two good shows to be involved with!
  4. Yeah now that you mention it, that too is something I find a bit annoying. Not sure how you fix it though...Maybe Casio will release an updated editor at Namm with the PX-6S
  5. Hi Luigi For me the operations are okay, just sloooowwwww. For example press write on the PX itself and the data is stored almost immediately. However when using the editor it takes far longer (relatively). Same goes for loading data into the editor, it takes "forever" to get a Stage Setting loaded into the editor. I suspect this has to do with the software only utilising USB 1.1 speeds, but not being a programmer I could not say this for sure. Or maybe it is jsut the way the app code is written?? One handy thing would be the ability to do a "snapshot" save of all the PX settings and data on your PC, via the editor. Overall though it seems to cover most operations one would need. What thoughts do you have on improvements? Dennis
  6. Just my view, but I think it's about time the editor was updated a bit...especially with a view to using USB 2 (or 3??) speeds. Can Casio improve the speed of it's operation? What do others think?
  7. that is terrific Dave thanks! The thanks btw is for you just trying...not in anticipation if there is not much that can be done with the sample base available, totally understandable!
  8. haha okay thanks Brad. Yeah I get it. Just have to live with changing the patch back to 0-0 when it turns on...easier than menu diving for the touch control cheers
  9. Auto Resume is set to off...touch is set to light, however when the PX is turned off and then on again, the touch keeps getting set back to normal. Can anyone advise on this please? Thanks
  10. okay I will try that now......okay that fixed it. Thanks Brad
  11. No it is not working Brad...it keeps loading a SS that is at slot 2.3 NOT 0.0 and auto resume was set back to on when I restarted it as well
  12. Nope that did not do it! Started the PX this morning and it is still starting on the alternate Stage Setting. Do you need to somehow "save" this when you change Auto Resume to off? If so I did try pressing the WRITE button but it gave no options?
  13. Can someone please remind me where the setting for the default startup SS is located?
  14. Yes we can hope. IF he can do something then, and going by his previous works - and this latest package - then it would be pretty damn good!
  15. NIce, but I am still awaiting a Bass pack (and guitars for that matter) although I seriously doubt whether even Dave could do much with the samples available on the PX. Not criticising it as such, it is just an observation, It can't do everything!!
  16. plug it in with the PX turned off and then turn on the PX it should auto set it for the correct polarity.
  17. My bad...it was a bump on an input -10/+4db pad on the mixer...I must have accidentally pushed it in! Thanks for your call out though Brad Dennis
  18. Thanks Brad - I will check that. Oh, 0-0 Grand Piano EDIT: yes it is at 53. Okay if it is not normal - I will re-check the entire audio line...perhaps something has gotten bumped or a knob is set too high...
  19. It seems that if the volume knob is higher than about halfway, when one plays the keys a little harder, it is quite easy to drive the output into distortion...can anyone suggest what is happening here and what can be done to fix it? It is the stock factory setup I am using with no Stage Settings or tones edited. Thanks
  20. I did post this in another thread, but I think it is a great little (cheap!!) tool that I thought I would make its own thread. hahaha no I don't have shares, I just bought one So, yeah, another possible solution (cheap) to the expression pedal issue for those using a PC/Laptop or Mac....and using the USB midi out to the PX : http://www.audiofron...IExpression.php
  21. You really need to decide if you want sampled (Ravenscroft Ivory etc) or Modelled (Pianoteq, True Pianos etc) then go from there.
  22. Thanks, so if I want to import tones (ztn) into the PX, and save them over existing USER tone slots, they will have no effect on existing stage settings yes? So ergo the same applies if I import hex file tones to any already used hex tone slot, yes?
  23. I have found files with the suffix .ztn which are tone files..if I load these into user tone slots on the PX will the overwriting of said slots affect existing stage settings, or do the stage settings rely on fixed factory data? Does the same apply to Hex tones? Thanks
