Thanks for the clarification

Sorry to be thick headed. Perhaps I don't understand Stage Settings after all. I light up the "bank" button, then double-press "Zero" to get 0-0, which is the first stage setting in bank 1 for acoustic pianos (Concert Grand). The "bank" light goes out. Now, if I want to go to the next setting in the acoustic piano bank, which is 1-0 (Ballad Piano Layer), I'm supposed to press the number "1" ? However, if I do that, the setting changes to "0-1", which is the first setting in the EP bank, not the second setting in the acoustic piano bank. So what am I doing wrong here? I hope my posting doesn't sound as confused as I am!

I have set list maker. That's definitely something I will be setting up.

hmm. It didn't seem to work that way, but I'll have another go at it tonight when I get home. What about my second question- saving over Stage setups vs. blank slots?

OK, the PX5 is in my living room, been reading through the manual, playing with Tones and Stage Settings. It's a very different board from my Px3, so prior experience doesn't count for much in this case. I have a couple of very basic questions. First, I understand the logic of Tones and Stage Settings. However, I'm finding switching between Stage settings awkward. The manual says that to select a bank, press the bank button. When it lights up, hold the bank button while pressing the number for the bank you want to access. So far so good. This is where it gets awkward. It seems that the only way to navigate within a bank is to again press bank, then press the number of the bank item followed by the bank number. For example, if I'm in the Piano bank, the default Set-up is 0-0. If I want to go to 2-0, I have to press the bank button again then press "2", then "0". Is that right? Seems very awkward and not quick access at all. There must be a better way to do it. Another question- any time I want to save a new stage setting, I have to replace an existing stage setting slot. Is that right? In other words, there aren't any blank slot available, which don't already have a stage setting stored in them. Thanks ahead of time for helping me sort through basic operations stuff! I've been using Applied Acoustics Lounge Lizard 2 EP VST with my Px3. I'm hoping that I'll like the EPs on the PX5 (getting mine on Tuesday) enough that I can rely on them as my primary go-to. On board sounds are easier to manage and switch between during gigs. Once you're part of the band mix, subtle differences between sources don't really stand out.

I don't know if anyone else is experiencing my frustrations. My PX 3 is rapidly becoming unplayable because certain notes (particularly black keys in the middle section of the keyboard) or exhibiting what I call "breakthrough"- play the key a couple of times with normal pressure and suddenly you get a huge and uncontrolled volume spike. unforgivable when playing solo and still very noticeable and distracting when playing with the band. my local authorized Casio repair guy checked on it and all the keys need replacement "key contact rubbers". The parts were ordered in early March and are still on backorder as of today. The repair guy has been in touch with Casio and Casio can't seem to get the parts either. Very frustrating! This apparently is not a common problem with the PX 3, but it's not rare either. Really want to get some resolution on this!!

has anyone used the Boss rt-20 for rotary sim with the Px5?

Can the 9 sliders (drawbars) on the P1 be mapped as midi controllers for external VSTs? For example, if I wanted to use the P1 as a midi controller for GSI Vb3, could I map the VB3 virtual drawbars to the sliders on the P1?

I think I know the answer to this question already ("no"), but are download files for the xw synths and Px5 compatible?

this may be beyond the scope of the Px5, but is it possible to layer internal and external sounds within a zone? Probably not something I would need to do with the Privia, but I do use this configuration sometimes with my Kurzweil PC3.

I'd like to hear from any PX5 owners who are using the px5 for both internal sounds, and as a midi controller for external VSTs for live gigging. How easy is it to set up and access external sounds during live gigs? How easy is it to switch back and forth between internal sounds and external VSTs? I'm just about ready to upgrade from my Px3 to the Px5 but I'd like to hear from users on this topic before I pull the trigger. Lee

I bought a Px3 in October 2012. Which means I have about 1 1/2 years left on the 3 year warranty. Now I'm planning to sell it. Is the warranty transferable to the new owner?
