  1. FINALLY...EVERYTHING IS PERFECT!!!!!! Dc2k....Assuming you are male (just a guess), I have to say "U R da man!" Thankyou for your guidance and patience...and your expertise on the subject matter! You went way above and beyond to give me hope and confidence in learning to program this beautiful beast for the purpose I needed... and you even gave step-by-step instructions with your sample stage setting... wow! This forum rocks! It's kind people like you who make this workd a tolerable place. Thankyou again...and all other contributors! Would anyone like to have this stage setting? If I can figure out how to post it, I will. Darin McNabb Bad Axe, MI (And let me tell you, this Privia 5S is a "Bad Axe"!!! Lol)
  2. That was the ticket! It worked!!!!!! EXCEPT.... the sustained note is an E and it should be a C.... I tried messing with the start note...still an E. So, do I have to record a New phrase?????
  3. What I don't understand: 1) #3 slider doesn't control volume of strings for chorus, verse two, etc...it's not assigned? It just plays automatically with the piano and electric piano sounds 2) when I hit "any key" on the keyboard and then tap the pedal, nothing happens.. There is NO sustained note (dc2k) just silence 3) (Norm) I don't understand how to program pedal2 to just sustain the"high string" (I am less than a novice...) do you program it to just pay C6? If so, how do you do that (step by step) Angry at myself for not getting this
  4. Well now I've given up....it just doesn't work. I did what you guys said and I guess I just don't get it...and I TRIED AND TRIED. I think the only way to get it is if maybe one of you ćould contact me by private email and I could get a phone number...maybe you wouldn't want to do that, but I am so disappointed that I can't get this to work, I don't know what else to do. Thanks for trying to help. I REALLY thought one of these ways would get it done, but it's way above my programming abilities.
  5. Duh...I just found that answer in a post above mine...ill try both suggestions from dc2k & norm...
  6. Normski...Is the procedure to assign the second pedal found somewhere on a video, this forum, or a manual?
  7. This sound starts at around 1 min. 22 sec into the song. FYI...
  8. I have : Zone 1 = LA Piano Zone 2 = Rock Piano Zones 3 & 4 =open for suggestions I need to develop the string/polysynth/hornzy kind of sound for the second verse of "Don't stop Believin" any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
  9. Thanks! I am so new at this...and I don't get along well with technology! Hey, I'll try it again and let you know ... Thanks again, man...
  10. Aggggh. I tried to figure it out, but failed... thanks but I don't understand how to use your stage setting... maybe I'll just stick with using two keyboards
  11. okay... dug around a little deeper & read "Phrase Confusion" on the forum... I recorded the phrase in zone 1... now I am working on adding it to my stage setting...
  12. hey guys ... thanks for your help...but I tried recording a phrase EXACTLY the way Mike Martin did in video 1 & 2 and every time I tried to record the note, there was NO SOUND. WHY would this be? very confused
  13. I have created a stage setting for Bryan Adams "Heaven" as follows: zone 1 = piano sound zone 2 = electric piano sound (which I layer with zone one) zone 3 = string sound (assigned to a slider for use on choruses, bridge, and verse 2) zone 4 = turned off (I currently use only one pedal for sustaining the piano tones) Everything is really good... but, to be GREAT, I need the ability to play the sustained high string tonic note at the beginning while simultaneously playing the melody part from zones 1 & 2... Right now, this is accomplished by playing that note on a separate keyboard and sustain pedal and playing the other parts on my Privia. My question is... Can this high string sound be programmed into zone 4 and somehow triggered, sustained , and cut off... either by a second pedal or by manually playing that note on the keyboard...while performing with the other sounds at the same time (All on the Privia 5S)? If this could happen, please explain how to do that. Thanks in advance!
  14. Oh yeah ...I forgot: 21) battery compartment!!!
  15. Love my 5s because (no particular order): 1) price 2) quality of sound 3) weight & portabilty 4) 4 zones! 5) hexlayers 6) tech support 7) Mike M's live chats 8) this forum (& all you helpful people!!!) 9) cool, neverending downloads 10) programability 11) realistic piano feel keybed 12) sliders & knobs 13) usb drive 14) mod wheel & bender 15) the 5s portal 16) usb & midi outs! 17) arpeggiator 18) the look of the keyboard...cool, different 19) editor program 20) stage setting concept...(r u kidding me?...AWESOME!) I really love this keyboard...can't u tell? Darin McNabb Bad Axe, Michigan
  16. To add to this discussion, I would like to know ...if I have all of my own stage settings (7) saved in the editor program AND my memory stick, will this" alternate order download" reset all the stage settings to their original forms, but just in a new, more logical order? (I assume this to be the case, but I want to be sure...) and...then...I believe I would have to reload MY Stage Settings again..correct?
  17. You were right. The connector I bought was 1/8" mono female to 1/4" stereo male (which makes no sense to me)... Anyway, Radio Shack had only one stereo to stereo left... and I bought it! THANKS!
  18. Ok... Here's the deal: I have a set of stereo Sony headphones with a 3.5mm end on them. I bought a 1/4" stereo adapter for it. When I plug it into the back of my 5S, I only get MONO sound... Are the headphone jacks in the back mono? ( i.e. - The sound only comes through ONE side of my headphones) Very disappointing if it's MONO only...
  19. Whoa! Really? OKAY, I'll mess around with it and see what happens.... Thanks , Brad!
  20. I am very new to programming sounds, creating settings, etc, .and I am watching videos and reading all the time to quickly learn as much as possible. Does Casio -or any knowledgeable user- have plans to make a video on using the editor software at all? I have downloaded and printed the data editor manual...just wondering about a comprehensive instructional video... (I DO BETTER WATCHING VIDEOS THAN BY READING MANUALS!!!) Thanks in advance.
  21. Looking if someone has developed the following sounds (stage settings) for the px-5s : 1) This synth sound is AWESOME! (LOVERBOY'S "Working for the Weekend") (Copy and paste to address bar to find this video) If a Roland can do it, A CASIO HAS TO DO IT!!! 2) How about this sound? (RUSH'S "Subdivisions") (Listen at beginning & listen at 2:24) Again, CASIO > ROLAND!!!! 3) Also looking for the "JUMP" sound from Van Halen I know, I AM LAME!!! ......Everybody overplays this song! ....but hey...I tried to program a GM saw wave with the 7-7 setting on the px-5s...but didn't sound close enough Would love feedback if anyone knows of any existing stage settings that are even close .. Thanks in advance!
