  1. There is a HUGE thread about this amp on the Keyboard Corner. Most of the people who have tried it are blown away about how well it works for them. http://forums.musicplayer.com/ubbthreads.php/forums/18/1
  2. What Brad said. I'm a Mac user, and have never had any problems loading sounds onto the USB stick and getting them into the PX-5S.
  3. Sure, though most people do it the other way around (control another keyboard or module with the PX-5S).
  4. The video has it right - the title of the song is "Over the Rainbow."
  5. I've had a chance to play these really quickly this afternoon and I must say I'm really impressed. The first word that comes to my mind is "thin," but I don't mean it in a bad way at all. Maybe "tight" would be a better word. They have a really nice clarity and presence. "Clarity" - that's the word I'm looking for. Even though it's suggested that you play them in a mix, with a band or a recording, I liked the way they sounded solo as well. These will be getting a lot of use from me, and I think many of you will find them useful as well. Nice job, Dave! [this forum could use a "thumbs up" smiley]
  6. Right now it's the QSC K10. If I make some money soon I might get the SpaceStation v3.
  7. Why do you have the Casio set as Slave? If anything, I think it should be Master. Also, you may want to turn off High Res MIDI. I know my Electro 2 expected different info on that channel, though I don't know about the NE 3. In any case, it doesn't know Hi Res MIDI so no need to send it.

  9. They should always notice new posts in a thread. The forum software makes threads with new posts bold, and when you click on the dot or star on the left, it takes you to the latest post. One might say you should be posting these in the area where we're supposed to share our music, but that's for another day.
  10. It's hard to say if the included rotary speaker effect in the PX-5S could be improved. Only the people at Casio know what can be done with it, especially via a firmware update. BTW, on organ, chorus/vibrato and rotary speaker effect are two different things, but you knew that, right? (Hammond created the C/V to eliminate the need for the Leslie speaker, which Laurens Hammond hated, but instead they just created another effect people put to use and used with Leslie speakers.) You could keep an eye out for a used Burn or Vent, which can be had a bit cheaper than new. That's how I got my Burn.
  11. Yeah, pretty much. My wife is a sweetie, but she'd agree! P.S. It was about 80° here yesterday, 75° today. That was another big reason I moved here. Believe it or not, I don't see many guns here. I think people talk more about that than they actually do it. Also, my dad was a U.S. Marine and I grew up with guns. I still have a few (a couple of rifles and handguns), but I never do anything with them. They just sit at home. I spend my money on musical gear and my time playing music!
  12. That's why I moved here - the pretty girls, one of whom I married. Lyle, Delbert, Joe Ely, and others were just a very nice bonus.
  13. I just had a look at the listings for the updated ALL file and I don't see a mono piano Stage Setting, and I'm not sure if there was one in there by default. Sorry if that's led you astray. Theoretically, you could change the tone in the Stage Setting to the mono piano and leave everything else as is. That could get you what you want if you're okay with the mono sound.
  14. There should be a mono piano stage setting, though if that uses a mono sample from the start, it doesn't help if you want a narrower stereo piano.
  15. There's a mono piano somewhere, but that might be too narrow. You could see if that leads you to find how to narrow the stereo piano.
  16. I was hoping it was the option to Open "safe" files after downloading, but I tried it both ways and the update.bin was identical for me in both cases.
  17. I'm still trying to determine what the problem is for some Mac users. I have a Mac, I've never used a PC to do any of the firmware update steps, and I've never had a problem. I did some experimenting with "opening" the update.bin file, but that didn't cause any problems for me. Hmmm.
  18. Worst case is that you can get the default ALL file from the Downloads area here and load that back in. In fact, you should download the updated ALL file first, as it's a major improvement upon what the PX-5S ships with. Then start playing around. http://www.casiomusicforums.com/index.php?/topic/6324-px-5s-updated-all-file/
  19. I'm not going to lie to you - I rarely look at nor think about impedance levels. But if a piece of gear says it can handle "line level" signal, it should be able to handle that from a number of different kinds of sources. As far as the speakers, same thing, and I would think Presonus speakers should work with any of their devices unless they say otherwise. That being said, I saw but didn't get a chance to read your thread on FB and you might be going in a different direction by now. There are many choices out there for this kind of thing. I still have a FirePod/FP10, so I don't think about it much for myself. I think I'd get a headache if I had to, or just ask someone.
