The iLectric app nails it -- and I use that IK Multimedia with the iRig Keys Pro but haven't yet figured out how to get it working with the WK (7500)

brattonken -- are you using the app with the WK ???

  2. In the absense of online learning for the CASIO I often look at others.

Maybe you've seen Ed Diaz series on Roland ... this one got me inspired so I attempted some arpeggios on the CASIO with disastrous results. . . .

    https://youtu.be/ycKd0AL-R-s

Is there a trick to getting CASIO Arpeggios to work...

I thought I followed each step of the instructions but they never came on.

At one point the whole keyboard went dead and I had to power down and back up.

It's just a shame there aren't better training aids.

I sometimes think I bought the wrong keyboard, just to save a few bucks.

  3. hmmmmmm . . . that sounds excellent -- I'm going to try that. . . . thanks.

Comment : some of the tones have lingering secondary tones.  How are they done?

For instance, the Piano-Pad, or Piano-strings will play piano staccato as long as you're playing, but with the pedal held down, the sound will play until you let up on the pedal.    So, if I wanted for instance, a piano with soft brass section in the background, would that be created as a user sound as well?   What would be the work flow?  (Bonnie Raitt's "Guilty")

  4. BEGINNER QUESTIONS:

As  a beginner, I'm having trouble trying to figure out a work flow to accomplish the sound I want.

Rather than taking a specific "task" the book makes you jump all over from here to there and back again to put together the steps you need ... and there's no transition detail as to what I should do NEXT.

I would like a layer that has a marimba and a flute. (Think : Margaritaville)

So that suggest that  I first must join the marimba and the flute into a "User Sound" before assigning it to a layer.

    Is that correct?

So, how do I accomplish that?

The "Creating a User Tone" assumes I"m just creating ONE tone, rather than combining two ... and follows with several pages of stuff I have no idea what they're talking about.

    ???

    Thanking you in advance

    Fred

  5. BEGINNER QUETION:

I'm trying to add a little organ to an electric piano . . . but the organ overwhelms the piano.

I'd like to LOWER the organ (organ is the layer) so it sounds like it's in the background

    1) How do I change the volume?

    2) Once changed and the saved to a "Registration" is that organ sound volume changed for ever, or does it then return to the normal default?

Thanking YOU in advance for any help you can give

    :-)

    Fred

  6. I did save it to the user tones, bank 2 #2

. . . I'm playing in it, when done, I go punch the "Piano" regular tone button

. . . but when I do, that tone is 3 octaves low, like the steel drums I set up for the user tone.

it's like the User Tone (#2#2) does not quit the octave shift when I select another sound.

    :-(

Are you changing back to a normal piano registration? or just changing the tone?

Not sure I know what you're asking...  I press the "Piano" button, or Organ or any of the pre-set category buttons.

  7. Okay . . .

I set up the keyboard with a split up at the 3rd C

so that I'd have piano below, and then could

reach up there for the steel drums.

I lowered the steel drums 2 octaves so it would

be normal although played in the upper 2 octaves.

I then saved the setup to bank 2, #2.

    Works perfectly.  EXCEPT

It won't come out of that range.

When I then return to the normal piano, it's all

transposed two octabes LOWER and I cannot

get out of it.   Have to turn the keyboard OFF

    and back on to reset.

    ????

  8. Is there a way to HOLD a sound when it's in a layer?

    For instance :

I've got a guitar sound, for strumming in one layer, then want to

bring in an accordion behind that ... lower, but holding chords.

How do I get the accodion to just hold the chord I'm strumming

    with the guitar sound?

(I'm a little concerned there haven't been any other posts since my last on the 5th of August ... is there anybody there? )

    :-)

  9. Hello showkster... I found a few YouTube video tutorials for the WK7500 that might be helpful for learning your way around how this instrument records and some other functions. Just enter Casio WK7500 in YouTube. There is one video Mike Martin posted there. And yes I agree completely with xw-there are many posts here that will probably be very helpful. We all are beginners at something and welcome to the Casio forum!

Sure . . . I've watched that video a hundred times.  Doesn't help much -- it generates fifty more questions related to those operations.   I'd be willing to PAY Mike Martin what ever amount he charges to provide live training sessions.  I would fly out there to learn.

  10. While I don't quite know what you mean by "manipulating", I find Chrome extension "notable pdf" to serve my needs. Good luck...

Printing, copying, etc.   I want to look up the voices, copy and paste into a new "cheat sheet" file for later use.  Wasn't it nice of CASIO to provide that fold out broadsheet printed on bible paper with 6 point type so it requires a magnifying glass!   Someone should invent an APP that offers search for that entire document. :-)

  11. You'd certainly think that by now CASIO would get the message to improve their manuals.    Or give us an adjunct that has bullet point step-by-step for TASKS, or specific operations rather than just describing each function and expecting the user to put them together in the right order.  I get so frustrated it's become a barrier to using the instrument for anything other than pre-set defaults. :-(
