I was looking at the preset performance. There is a phrase set with multifunction key and then another key that stops the play of the phrase. I think I read that that stop phrase key is automatically assigned when I am creating the multi-function key settings. My question was concerning how I designate that stop phrase function which I could not find in the function menu. However, it appears to me to be automatic? A steep learning curve here for a guy that has never messed with programming a synth. I am trying to create a performance that I can use for my band live. Need brass, synth, loop sounds, and a couple of phrases all within the performance so I can focus on playing the different parts. This may not be the synthesizer for that, although I believe it will do everything I need to do and then a whole lot more. Just have to figure out how to tell it what to do. Another problem I have been facing is when I insert the phrase into a multi-function key I get some other tone? Once again, I am a complete Rookie at synth programming. Thanks, Geoff

Ok, so I enter the phrase, how the heck does the phrase stop get inserted? I see it in the performance P-01. But, Can't figure how to put it in the synthesizer? Geoff

I found it, holding the keyplay button pulls up the phrase menu. Wow, I am a rookie! I am going to try to the multifunction keys for assigning phrases and let you know how it goes. Thanks my friend. Geoff

thanks for working with me. So, is it possible to have a loop or phrase running while in performance mode, using the 4 zones for other tones for performance? Like a sample loop or phrase? I am trying to figure out how to get about 5 or 6 different parts out of the keyboard during a live performance.

So, I recorded the phrase, edited performance and designated a key trigger. But, I have to have that tone assigned to the zone it's in? When I set 3 or 4 zones with different tones it changes the tone in the phrase. Ill double check, but swear this is happening?

seems like almost all the files are not compatible? I think I am only downloading g1 specific files. A few have worked. Only tone files though, not performance. ANy suggestions?

Mike Martin showed a Filter mod on the XW-G1 live CLinic, July 2013. There was a tone FILTERMODDub03 that was a dubstep bass wobble using the mod wheel. Anyone know if this is available for download? Or, best answer would be how to create that sound? PowerTrader

Any suggestions on sound equipment for live work on the xw-g1? I have been using my bose computer speaker system which sounds great, but is low level. Would like to get that stereo and quality for practicing with the band and for live monitoring. ANy suggestions? Tight budget constraints. Thanks for any help, PowerTrader

Anyone know how to increase the rotary speed on organ or two get the fast organ tremolo or whatever that effect is. Sounds like an organ at a cafeteria in the 70's. Thanks, PowerTrader

Is this for xw-p1? I downloaded several different files from the support forum and cannot see them when I try to open them in data editor. New at this and don't understand the different file formats and why I can't seem to see them to open. Also, I downloaded a couple of different performance files and when I try to open in data editor I get a format error. Please help PowerTrader

I am trying to create samples from Bruno Mars Uptown Funk You Up. Basically wanting to get the DOO and use my xw-g1 to manipulate the pitch. There are no wav files on the internet that I can find. NORD forum has some NSPM files available but that won't work for xw-g1. Anyone have a way to work around this? I am so new to sound programming, tried to grab sample off playing the song but it grabs all the song, not just the voice part. Thanks for any help! PowerTrader

Thank you Brad. I find the user manual very hard to follow. Guitar player trying to learn how to incorporate the XW into band. Nice purchase. I like the synth a lot. How do I adjust the modulation wheel on the xw-g1? I would like to slow the mod rate as well as assign the wheel to cutoff or other controls. Trying to get the sound of the synth from The Killers Somebody Told me and have seen the MicroKorg easily handle the tone and effects. Thanks, PowerTrader
