lil help? I bought a one octave bass pedal made by Fast forward designs...guessing late 80's early 90's....they work flawlessly on my ctk 691 but with the wk1800 i only get piano tone. unless I assign the bass pedals to channel 10. then I get drums.  Can I program the wk1800 to send/receive differently? would an interface device help? ....Tech support is no help

First off Im an old school bass player, so pardon the lack of tech knowledge.

I recently bought an old set of midi bass pedals (midi step) thinking I could assign a to bank on my wk1800 to a midi channel,

assign the pedal to that channel and reproduce that tone. All I get is (000) grand piano tone . Unless I assign the pedal to channel 10 which plays drum sounds. Would an interface help? Thanks!
