Unfortunately not. The sound engine in the PX-5S is 16 channel mulitimbral.  Zones 1 thru 4 of stage settings control channels 1 thru 4 respectively.  In order to control those channels from an external source, you'll need to send midi to the same channels.

This doesn't appear to be the case for me! Zone 1 on my PX recieves on all channels regardless, meaning that have a Rhodes accompanying all the music on every channel. Nice, but not required!,

  2. Hi,

How do I restrict the midi input on my PX5s? I need to have my PX respond only to Stage Setting Change (on midi ch 16) but not to note data as note information travelling down the same midi cable is destined for another module (on midi ch 10). I have tried moving the note data to a different midi channel, but whatever channel I change it to it always triggers notes on my PX. It almost seems like it's stuck in omni mode!

There must be a setting somewhere to either change the recieve status for a "part" or change the recieve channel to anything but 10.

  3. Hi,

This has happened to me on a couple of occasions too, both times I have cured it by switching off and back on - not a great thing to have to do in a gig situation. In my case I would switch to a particular stage setting (one that features of my own edited tones) only to find that the tone is silent. In both cases the stage setting was a split keyboard set-up and the non-sounding area was below the split point. Adjusting the level of S1 (zone volume) had no effect - but then worked perfectly once the power was restored and the setting reselected.
