  1. I'll make the Stage Setting available for download.

I worked on it a little on Wednesday, listened to the track and did some research on it yesterday and finished programming it last night. It wasn't done in one sitting so it is hard to estimate. Maybe 90 minutes?

PS. I think the XW series can probably pull off the main note sequence quite well. I'll try to do this on Monday.

looking forward to see how you do this on an xw...

  2. these are my initial ideas for improvement, in what will likely be a long line of posts..

don't get me wrong.. as is, i think the xw-g1 is great, but if you are asking me for update ideas, here are a few:

    1) is there some way (perhaps this is not possible) to make the solo synth have more polyphony? Perhaps if we remove the effects.. like an overide mode.. a solo synth which is not quite solo.. that would be amazing.

    2) changing the pitch of a note in a drum kit. Suppose i want a higher pitch on my snare, and a lower pitch on my kick, but want everything else the same. I coudn't find this feature.. but seems pretty simple to implement

    3) is it possible to layer multiple voices in the phrase sequencer.. e.g piano and drums?

    4) the sampler is not that easy to use, or i haven't figured it out yet... loading a simple drum kit involves going to the pc software, finding start/stop points (in a software which isn't too user friendly)..

    5) a deeper tremolo effect...

  3. Carl,

It is definitely possible to map out drum kits with user samples. I'm not in front of a XW-G1 at the moment but the process is something like this:

Start with a preset drum kit such as P400 (Standard Kit), press EDIT.

The first selection is Instrument Edit, select that by pressing ENTER

Next, play the keyboard you'll see the number numbers flash on the top of the screen. Once you've chosen the key you want to change, press ENTER again and it takes you to the next screen where you can choose your sample.

Mike was right. Loaded a few of my own sampled drum sounds in a kit.... Awesome

  4. Yes... the goal is to make my own drum kit with my own sampled sounds.

Will try to do what Mike said when i get home.. thanks for the input Mike and for creating this forum. you are an asset to casio for sure.

needless to say.. this casio is amazing for the price, but its a bit tricky to figure out all the capabilities.

  5. thanks. I think you can control a few elements of a drum sound within a kit, like reverb, volume.. but i was hoping to significantly change the pitch of a kick, for instance...maybe the programmers will add the feature in a future release..

also, still no luck in loading a sample drum kit and getting each key to play a separate sound...
