Hmm...
LMMS free plugins also have distortion problem with PX-5S midi input.
So, I'll try your methods. Thank you.

I'd move the computer and keyboard rig to be closer together
My room is not suitable for that right now.

I bought (USB 2.0) 5 meters long cable with active repeater. No problems such as latency.
-
Ah, i recognized another problem...
USB 2.0 standard allows up to 5 meters. If we want more, we must buy repeater cable.
-
Will 10 meters long USB cable, create an input lag/ latency especially playing VST instruments ?

Since you have Audacity, I recommend simply copy the recorded wav file onto your computer then use the Audacity normalize effect.
Using the amplifier effect also helps a lot. Just pay attention to distortion problem and don't over-use amplifier effect.

Since many of the parts are common with other members of the Privia line (and a few not called Privia), sure.
Quite right. ( If Casio won't produce other keyboards with different parts...)

I remember that some people using their keyboards up to +30 years!
So, can we find spare parts to repair PX-5S for years ? What do you think? -
THANKS A LOT!
Hmm Capxon capacitors. I wish the PX-5S had Japan caps.

Here's a starting point. Season to taste...
- Start with a bright electric guitar patch that you sorta like.
- Set the low-pass filter frequency in the midrange, around G and octave and a half above middle C.
- Increase the resonance of the filter as much as you can stand it.
Instant Twang (single-coil) guitar! Fiddle a bit with the filter frequency, resonance, and key follow.
Thanks. I'll try asap.

Seems like I have to use different brass instruments one by one instead of ensemble brass sounds.
Okay, how to create 60's spy electric guitar ?
-
I'll use my keyboard with a PC editor (via laptop).
That way, I can increase lifecycles of the buttons. (longevity...) -
Sorry for wrong English usage in the title. I recognized it now, but too late.
I need electric guitar, strings and brass sounds for creating James Bond or No One Lives Forever type soundtracks.I tried tweaking. Electric guitar is maybe acceptable for the purpose but I couldn't get brass part especially.
Did anybody try before ?
-
People want/ need a better keyboard for their purposes, I understand.
But keyboard isn't like a mobile phone or something, which you want to upgrade it every year.
I am emotional when it comes to my instruments.

I would leave it alone. Sometimes transporting these keyboards at various angles can cause a shift in the button that will reset itself eventually. Have you moved the keyboard lately?
I didn't play at any gig. It is a house keyboard.

Any advice ?

Light button of my aspirator,
Volume rocker of my Nokia N82
Power button of my tablet Asus Memopad HD7
They are all softened and I have to press hard for work.
Like the examples above, I have the same problem with PX-5S.
"Num Key" of my keyboard is already softer than others since I bought it.
Now, " -/No " button works only I press the right side of it.
Can I change the switches of these buttons myself with soldering iron, solder and other tools ?
Where can I find the button switches ?

I tried the effect today. I got noticeably better sound.

I don't know when they will introduce any successor. But sometimes I'm thinking about my choice, if XW-P1 with Cheap Privia keyboard is a better solution compared to PX-5S....

Hi!
When I record something via recorder of the keyboard or when I connect PX-5S to my PC with 3.5 mm to 3.5mm cable via headphones output and record the sound with Audacity, i got significantly lower volume and thinner sounding. How can I solve this problem?
I don't have audio interface or external sound card. So, my onboard sound solution of motherboard is not so great which i can accept. But why keyboard itself also records so badly ?
How do you record the sound of PX-5S ?(Additional note: When i connect to the PC as i say, the sound is great and full, but i can't say the same thing for recording unfortunately. )
Classical flute sound?

You can try flute waveform with HEX LAYER editing/ tweaking.
Waveforms don't have vibrato effect.
