  1. Some songs have full stops and starts, one or more times, at various intervals of a song. Is there a way to duplicate that in the WK7600, without ending the recording prematurely?
  2. I deleted all Program Changes. I can't test the edited mid file because when it's exported with Ntrack, the file size is doubled and as it turns out the WK-7600 can only play a file size of 320KB or under. Exported file size is 680kb. 🧐
  3. Here's some screen shots of the menus that are available for midi files in Ntrack. Maybe they are similar to those in other software programs. Is Ntrack like a DAW? I'm not sure if I'm changing Header data or track data. The first photo is from Piano Roll Midi editing and right click on piano roll screen. Is any of this useful? In subsequent photos, if I right click on the Midi track, the initial drop-down shows up, with subsequent menus.
  4. Hi Brad, I was afraid that might be the case. I have used Ntrack to go into properties and change the tones, but when I export the mid file to my sd card, the original tones are played.
  5. Hello all. I'm sure this topic is buried somewhere on the forum, but I couldn't find it. Anyway, just got the WK-7600 and trying to use Data Management 6 to transfer my old .mid songs from my PC to the keyboard, using the USB cable. I can see different items on the keyboard memory, but my .mid files on my Pc don't show up. I've made sure the correct directory has been assigned. I want to be able to save them in the song memory, change tones, etc and re save. I can load them from my SD card, but all I am able to do is play them. Is there a way to get them into song memory from there for editing?
  6. As it turned out, I could not find a single CTK-7200 for sale anywhere in the U.S., used or news. So, Saturday my new WK-7600 arrived and I am pleased. But I have questions for another topic.
  7. Hi Folks, Are there newer Casio models/series that have the same features, inputs/outputs as the wk-7600 ? 61 keys or 76 keys would be ok?
  8. Hi Folks, Is there any significant differences between the WK 7600 and CTK 7200, ie functions, inputs/outputs? I am about to buy one of those "used" if I can find one. Any common problems with either , that might have shown up? Thanks
  9. Update I may also consider a 61-key board. Occasionally I do a show and never know when my 3200 will start playing Demo tunes.
  10. Hey Jokeyman, Very interesting. I'll be checking those out. I'd like to find something that will record to all 16 channels, just like tracks, but still be able to save in a midi and non-midi format. But guessing it doesn't work that way. I'm also curious if any of these can somehow load a midi file but save in some non-midi format. Since I use the keypad heavily and I'm on my 3rd repair, I'm considering getting away from anything with a numerical keypad and use something with a Dial type device. The other buttons don't seem to have a problem. Also, my 3200 can only play a midi file with the smf player and I can never preset anything in the Mixer until after the song starts playing. That's the only issue making me shy away from a midi only format. But, it looks like the newer 16 track boards allow prior use of the mixer. A lot to consider. Thanks for the tips and Happy New Year.
  11. Still considering a 2nd keyboard. Is there a Casio model that has same features of a 7600 but comes in the light gray color? And if I'm reading correctly, these later models save songs only in midi format and not the older .Z02?
  12. OK SO UPDATE AS OF 12/30/23; I ended up removing all Button worx pads, cleaned up the surfaces and applied a layer of Radio Shack electronics spray, which is conductive. Re-assembled and keyboard works perfectly, for now.
  13. This is an old thread, but I wanted to post a note. I can see one very good reason for using a dial instead of a keypad for tones, etc. I'm on my 3rd keypad repair, cleaning, using buttonworx, etc. It's a constant problem if it is used extensively and now appears to be unfixable.
  14. So now, here we are a year later and after using Button Worx, they apparently lasted a year. Now my same WK-3200 is doing the same thing. What is it that goes wrong with these keypads? What would prevent this same problem on a brand new keyboard? Is they something better than a keypad?
  15. Yeah, The Audacity process works really great and fast. Very Handy, But yes, I just wanted to have live play be at exactly 432 hz including the smf player. The SMF play can be changed to -32, but only by going into the mixer After the song starts. So, I have to allow enough blank space in the recording midi file before the song starts. Doesn't look like this will be an easy fix. If there was a way to get into the midi properties to change the frequency, I could at least fix the midi files permanently.
  16. Hello All, At this point, I am attempting to change the tuning on my older Casio WK-3200 from 440 To 432 Hz. I am aware of the Master Tune Function and I set it to -32 cents. However, 432 Hz is actually 31.767 cents. I would like for it to be exact and the Tune Function doesn't have that capability. Is it possible to get inside of the keyboard and adjust the circuitry to change the setting? Also, with the -32 cents setting in place and saving a song in Song Memory to the Midi (SMF) format, the midi format does not keep the -32 cent tuning. Is there a way to remedy that?
  17. Thanks Jokeman. Since my board is probably close to 20 years old and I have stripped it down to the last circuit board 3-4 times already, I think I'll try a re-flash, then use BoardWorks to replace the numerical Keypad keys. If that doesn't work, I'll convert all of my recordings to midi and move on to a newer model. My guess is a similar model is just as old and may run into the same problem all over again.
  18. All very helpful. Definitely going to re-flash first. Hant7, your response is listed on my machine in a different language and I can't figure out how to translate it. I do like the lighter gray color of the Wk-3200, but haven't found any newer models with it. The features on the 7600 series are very cool.
  19. H i Folks, My current keyboard is the WK-3200. For the second time the numerical keypad is acting up. It changes tones by itself, plays demo tunes by itself. Casio has no replacement parts for it. I saw that a 3300 model did the same thing. I have 2 options 1. try a repair with new stick on pads 2. buy a used keyboard Problem is I have dozens of recorded songs that I don't want to have to do over. They are saved in Casio format .ooZ or something. My series keyboard records onto 6 dedicated tracks which can be converted to midi format. I notice the newer models like 7600, 6600 don't use the dedicated tracks, but rather all 16 channels directly in midi. Is this called a Sequencer instead? I'm looking for pro/cons to going with the newer models, limiting myself to 8000 series, but it has to be portable. Any advice appreciated. Thanks
  20. The keyboard never actually had anything liquid spilled on it. The most that happens is that the climate at the current location is very humid with salty air at times. (near the ocean).
  21. I might add that the high humidity where I am at the moment is also very salty. My board is a wk-3200, purchased 2002 and it sits close among cell phones and wifi much of the time. Looks like I just have to try to minimize the effects and take not of humid/dry days. Thanks much. I'll check it out.
  22. very interesting. Now that you mention it could, high humidity / condensation do the same thing? All contacts were recently cleaned with alcohol. The keyboard can go from ambient dry conditions (AC running) to humid conditions (No AC running) and back again? It can be an everyday situation where I am. If so, how would I defend against that?
  23. My keyboard will randomly start playing Demo Tunes and/or changing instrument Tone numbers on it's own, without any input from me. It will also do the same thing while I am practicing with it. I disassembled it down to the main circuit board and cleaned all of the circuit contacts and rubber buttons. A few days later it was doing the same thing. This same situation occurred about a year ago. I cleaned it as described above and it solved the problem until now. Has anyone ever heard of this happening and/or have any suggestions?
  24. 11/28/22: Fast forward to 9 months later. My WK-3200 has started playing demo tunes by itself. It also changes instrument tones by itself. I completely dismantled it and cleaned off all rubber key contacts. I played it for a couple days and now it has the same problem. Looks like it's more than a dirty keypad problem. Any ideas folks?
