My Casio PX-780M periodically stops working over the USB MIDI connection to GarageBand running on a Mac Mini, and I have to reboot the keyboard to get it to reconnect. How can I keep it from disconnecting?

Hello There! I would like to use my Casio Privia PX-150 to compose music via GarageBand on an iPad 4. I would like to know if this is possible, and if so, what connections/cables do I need, and what steps do I need to follow to set it up?

CTK-7000, MIDI and iPad Garage Band B3 app
Tropical Hunch posted a topic in General Casio Discussion
I have a CTK-7000 that I was able to seamlessly interface via MIDI with Garage Band running on my ancient iPad 1. Use it mostly for recording direct, but recently came up with a very easy way to make it practical to use (along with a tubes and timber Hammond) in a live performance setting. Would like to be able to trigger the Leslie chorale/tremolo in GB's B3 app from the keyboard, but no luck so far. This can be done with my mini-Korg 25 key controller with the press of a button, but can't seem to make it happen with the larger 7000. Any suggestions? And yes, am running through Channel 1.- 2 replies

I'm interested in controlling Garageband instrument volume via USB midi from the px5s using either the volume wheel, slider controllers or pedal inputs. I've looked in the documentation but can't find how to set the midi cc# or any other info regarding controlling instrument parameters. Is this possible? If so, I'd be interested in learning how to do this. Thanks

Hi Everyone, I use a Casio WK 1350 to record on Garageband, and I very much enjoy the sounds I can get using soundfonts. The WK 1350 had a "midi in" connection on the back, and my USB midi connector connects to that as well as the midi out. For example, in recording House of the Rising Sun, I use a nice Vox Continental soundfont that sounds great in Garageband, and will play out through external speakers connected to the computer. My question is: How can I get the soundfont to play through the keyboard speakers? When I set it to "Local On" all I get it the Casio-designated sound. And yet, in Garageband, it is playing the soundfont. Is there a way to make the keyboard sound like that Vox Continental? Thanks for any light you can shed. Cheers, GB
