  1. This is my first cover of a country song from 1968. Got to use fun harmonica and banjo voices for a change! I've always like the guitar lick and backing rhythm of this song. I had a heck of a time getting the "guitar" solo down by slowing the original music down to a snails crawl with https://musicspeedchanger.com/ and listening over and over. I ended up using an electric piano instead of guitar voice for the solo since Waylon's guitar bends, hammer-ons, etc., were too difficult to replicate. I cheated on this one by increasing the tempo to the insane 160bpm versus my max 125 bpm playing speed. 10 midi tracks consisting of: UK beat rhythm on system track Piano bright Cho. CleanGtr1 AiR E. 2. This one is a favorite of mine (from 1988) that will make you want to play tetherball with a nerd (Napoleon Dynamite reference). I tried to replicate the original's computer-ish bass line using the PX560's arpeggiator for the first time. (5) midi tracks consisting of: Techno Pop rhythm on system track Grand Concert Piano Sawsyn BassM on arpeggiator style Seq Line2 Symphony Orc2 (Hex) PWM Stack (hex) The Promise.mp3
  3. After much searching, I finally came across a well written piano score for this beautiful song from a French sheet music company (https://www.noviscore.com/piano-sheet-music-with-or-without-you-u2). This is the Level 2 version. (5) midi tracks consisting of: Slow Ballad1 rhythm on system track Grand Piano Dolce Finger Bass1 with arpeggiator #45 NoName Street (hex strings) Warm pad (copy of track 2 without pedal inputs) With or Without You.mp3
  4. This one is per m10538's request. Really trippy and amazing harmonies from 1967. As the piece progresses, I take a more modern take using synths & arpeggiators. (12) midi tracks consisting of: Slow swing and Pop rhythms on system track Concert Piano for lyrics Finger Bass 2 w/ arpeggiator #44 Wide Strings Drawbar organ 3 for lyrics Separate (hex) at chorus Just What I needed (hex) w/ arpeggiator #1 at ending chorus Stereo Brass at chorus Cho. 5. Is there any documentation on the various PX560 drum kit instrument sounds per individual key press? I'm looking for a finger snap sound and painstakingly going thru the each of the +70 notes per each supplied drum kit to no avail. Worst case, I can substitute a wood block (which I did find). Just wondering if there's a better solution than hunt & peck?
  6. This is a one hit wonder from 1980 by the Dutch band Diesel. It has a fun and catchy riff. Although a guitar heavy piece (worth checking out the original), I did my best by ear using the PX560. I abandoned working on this piece a year ago after getting very frustrated trying to translate the substantial guitar solo into piano notes. However, by using https://app.musicspeedchanger.com/ it's now complete.....Whew. Have to keep reminding myself I do this for fun/hobby? 7. My take on a classic from 1967. No Midi editing or multiple tracks, just audio recording of live performance. Grand Concert Piano (upper 1) + Warm Pad (upper 2) with lots of reverb and delay added. Happy Together.mp3
  8. This one is per @m10538 reguest on his post https://www.casiomusicforums.com/index.php?/topic/17879-numan-on-new-tech/ ..."Hey, how about an all Casio version of AFE, anybody ever make one?" Here is my Casio version of this song from 1979. Gary Numan is an interesting dude who has asperger's syndome (autism). Fun trivia: the British sit-com "The IT Crowd" (which is hilarious) uses a version of this in its theme song. Not too hard to learn except for the tricky interludes. 9. TAKE05121220.mp3 TAKE00121420.mp3 Very short practice things on PX560. Main piano preset. Exported as MP3 from Audacity. First one is electric piano on one track, solo piano on the other. Second one is solo piano. My first experiment with multitrack recording in the sequencer. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bit Rate Mode: Variable Quality: 220-260 kbps Variable Speed: Fast Channel Mode: Joint Stereo
  10. Another obscure but very tranquil piece by Brian Wilson and Van Dyke Parks from the 1967 Smile album. Found chords in D for this since it's originally in the difficult to learn key of Db. I like the harpsichord which really gives it a unique Baroque quality. (6) midi tracks consisting of: Coup. 11. Here's another previously unknown to me recommendation from Spotify that I decided to cover (from 1978). I was only familiar with "Whip It" from these guys. Super cool space-surf-techno sound. Song only uses 5 chords and I made use of several of the PX560's arpegiattors. 12. I have recorded a short piano cover of Taylor Swift's Cardigan using the main piano in px 560. What are your thoughts on this one? https://youtu.be/WPw8nHJk5vU Click on the above link to view the video. Thanks:)
  13. This is a cool Kraftwerk sounding piece from the Australian new wave band Pseudo Echo who have been around since the early 80's. They are heavy into Korg products, but I figured my awesome PX560 was more than capable of making a cover of this song (by ear) from 2014. Here's the link to their video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRhb6Tc0SRE I especially like their band graphic logo: Ultraviolet.mp3
  14. From the 1966 Beachboys Album Smile. I found a very good and free sheet music arrangement for this piece on YouTube (see attached PDF) after getting frustrated trying to learn from a poorly chorded score I recently purchased online. Still, it took several weeks to master. I practiced in chunks, breaking it down into the rhythm, verse, and the 3 movements which I "glued" together in MidiEditor. I added a small/free ocean wave sample to the start of the "Surf's Up" movement for fun using Audacity. (5) midi tracks consisting of: Grand Concert Piano Sub sine (copy of track #1 without pedal inputs) Standard drum kit Stairway recorder (hex) Wide Strings Surfs Up.pdf Surfs Up.mp3
  15. I tried to replicate the Alan Wilkis Remix version of this song after hearing it on the SuperStore TV series. This remix is "friendlier" than the original since it omits the complex intro and outro organ bits. I think I have a handle on the PX560's guitars now. (10) midi tracks consisting of: Techno Pop rhythm on system track Syn Bass + Lead with apreggiator #46 Brite Piano Hex poly synth for lyrics Overdrive Guitar2 Saw Lead 1 Trance Bass Percussion organ bass Dance drum set with arpeggiator #31 House Top (strings) Baba ORiley.mp3
  16. This is a very catchy tune from 2001. Semisonic is also famous for the song "Closing Time". 11 tracks consisting of: Straight Rock & Ballad1 rhythms on system track Bright Piano backing rhythm AiR E. 17. This is an Elton John-ish sounding piano piece from 2001. The original video is a real tear jerker if you have kids. I found out I could use 2 (or more) different rhythm styles on the system track. I programmed them as saved registrations which could be called up on cue. Still Fighting It.mp3
  18. This is from the 1979 musical "The Demon Barber of Fleet Street". I like the juxtaposition of half notes contrasting the with 1/8 notes in this piece. Also, the dissonant chords are interesting. I added Big Ben Westminster chimes using tubular bells voice on PX560 to give it a Victorian vibe. (4) midi tracks consisting of: Grand Concert Piano Tubular bells Stairway recorder (hex) Stereo strings Johanna.mp3
  19. From the 1988 Album Watermark. Hard to replicate the rich vocals, but the piano sheet music from Musicnotes.com is quite nice. Consisting of 6 midi tracks: Grand Concert Piano Wide Strings Warm Vox Warm Pad Sub Sine (hex) Vocal Pad (hex) Longships.mp3
  20. Is there a way to calibrate the mod wheel? Once my PX-560 warms up, I can hear some modulation, even on the default grand piano. If I hold the mod wheel al the way down, it goes away. I think it’s also messing with my ability to use the sequencer, as it always starts recording immediately when I press the play or record buttons. Thanks in advanced!
  21. Yes, that's the crazy name of this piece from 2008. I have no idea why the Van Halen reference? I noticed it from the Giant Mechanical Man movie soundtrack. The original artist (El Ten Eleven) uses a single bass guitar with multiple loops and effects. I used several bass and synth tracks. You'll either love or hate this one. Fun using pitch wheel for slides, but they kind of make me nauseous too, Ha. I Like Van Halen.mp3
  22. This is a nice adagio type piece from the 2013 animated series Tron Uprising. Has a Daft Punk vibe, but instead written by Joseph Trapanese. Here is a pic of the character playing the futuristic sequencer pad which becomes this song. I used the very handy ChordU website which can roughly determine the chords of a Youtube music video: https://chordu.com/chords-tabs-tron-uprising-paige-39-s-past-monome-remix--id_b9uoDUioKPQ Paige Past.mp3
  23. This is a real nice piece for piano from 1988. (4) midi tracks consisting of: Noire Piano Sub Sine Warm Pad Vocal Pad (hex) I've included a PDF of the sheet music which isn't very hard. Watermark.mp3 _Watermark_-_Enya.pdf
  24. My wife has been wanting me to learn this one (after watching "The Graduate" movie), but I could never find a good arrangement (either too simple or too hard) until now. Hit from 1966 (original melody is from 1650) using the medieval sounding Dorian mode. I initially struggled with the timing when adding the counterpoint melody (i.e. canticle) above (fantasy2 voice). But, after much annoying metronome practice, I got it down. I included a PDF of the sheet music too should anyone want a go. Scarborough_Fair_-_Paul_Simon_and_Art_Garfunkel.pdf Scarborough Fair.mp3
  25. A classic from 1939. I did my best on this one, but I really don't understand triplet notation like this........ I don't have the jazz expertise of Hugh Mility or Jokeyman123, Ha. (3) midi tracks consisting of: Grand Concert Piano Breathy Tsax Stereo strings Harlem Nocturne.mp3
