  1. This is my tribute to the late Ric Ocasek who recently died Sept 15, 2019 at the age of 75. This piece is from his solo album "This Side of Paradise" 1986. It has a definite "Cars" vibe to it and is a huge favorite of mine. (7) midi tracks consisting of: SynthPop1 rhythm on system track Grand Concert Piano Electric Piano 4 Stereo Strings 3 Overdrive Guitar 1 Bottle Pad RMI EP (hex) Emotion in Motion.mp3
  2. This is my favorite piece by Mozart and fittingly, his last. Lots of slow building crescendos. The PX560's slow choir voice really works well on this one. Here are the English lyrics to the Lacrimosa (means Mournful) for those of us not versed in Latin: Mournful that day. When from the ashes shall rise a guilty man to be judged. Lord, have mercy on him. Gentle Lord Jesus, grant them eternal rest. Amen. 3 midi tracks consisting of: Grand Concert Piano Stereo Strings 3 Slow Choir I included a PDF of the score should anyone want to give it a try. Lacrimosa.mp3 Lacrimosa.pdf
  3. Hit from the Electric Light Orchestra from 1980. Very fun to play once I got it down. I did speed the tempo up to 124 bpm since I could only competently play at 120 bpm max. 12 midi tracks consisting of: Disco Pop rhythm on system track Grand Concert Piano for backing melody Electric Piano #4 for words Dance Comp (hex) at intro Poly Saw backing rhythm Space Choir at chorus Pizicatto Strings at instrumental Drawbar Organ1 at instrumental Saw Lead2 at intro with pitch wheel Claps at instrumental/bridge Applause at ending Standard kit drums Please keep in mind the applause at the end is on the original and not for my own accolade, Ha. All Over the World.mp3
  4. This is considered Brian Wilson's swan song co-wriiten with Jon Bon Jovi in 2012. Beautiful but sad. 6 midi tracks consisting of: Piano Ballad1 rhythm on system track Grand concert piano Celesta Stereo strings Choir Aahs Flute1 Summers Gone.mp3
  5. This is the theme to the British TV show Home Fires on Masterpiece PBS from 2015-16. This one was completely by ear since there is no music/chords available anywhere. Fantastic show (currently on Amazon Prime) with a beautiful choral theme song that I tried to replicate. Siren.mp3
  6. This is my favorite APP song from 1984. Sounds like an ELO song. Fun to play with the octave run ups in the left hand. The original has what I think is a cog rattle/ratchet rhythm instrument that I tried to replicate with the standard drum set (Bb4 note). There is a cool saxophone solo in the original too, but I did a much more simple/short version. (8) midi tracks consisting of: UK Beat rhythm on system track Grand concert piano Finger Bass3 Cho. CleanGtr1 Deep Dyno EP (hex) Stereo strings Voice Doo Breathy TSax Dont Answer Me.mp3
  7. Classic instrumental synth piece from 1982. Took some time to learn the right hand bit to speed. However, I did like Alan Parsons and made a loop once I learned the repeating measures. I tried using various electric guitar tones for the solo, but couldn't get the sound right despite setting the pitch wheel to the correct bend range. Guitar tones are an enigma to me on the keyboard. Ended up using Chiff Lead synth tone instead. (8) midi tracks consisting of: Guitar 8Beat rhythm on system track Hex Clav2 Steel Guitar 2 Privia Synth 1 PWM Stack Concert Piano Stereo Strings Chiff Lead Sirius.mp3
  8. This is the little tune our washing machine makes when done with it's cycle. I patiently waited by the machine with my phone ready to record the song live so I could learn on keyboard later.............my wife thought I was nuts. Always makes us laugh when we hear it. I used the fun vibraphone tone. However, this may set an annoying precedent........ others may want to upload their respective appliance songs also, Ha. LG wash.mp3
  9. This is from the 2010 movie Tron Legacy in which Daft Punk did the soundtrack. Easy 3 chord melody (with many inversions), but hard to replicate sound/rhythm. I got really close to the original sound with the stock PX560 tones/sounds. I added cool sound bite from the MCP (master control program) at then end from the original 1982 Tron. 12 midi tracks consisting of: Electro Hop rhythm on system track Polysaw with arpeggiator style #20 Synth Bass5 with arpeggiator style #53 PWM Stack (hex) Fanfare (hex) with arpeggiator style #3 Saw arpeggio Analog EP2 Privia Synth1 (hex) Mannheim Keys (hex) Crunch Clavi Grand Concert Piano Stereo strings End of Line.mp3
  10. After watching and enjoying the series on Netflix, I decided to tackle the main theme. The PX560 did a great job with the timpani and string crescendo. It's very satisfying being able to replicate "big" sounds with little effort beyond learning the chords. Can't say enough good things about the PX560. The Crown Theme.mp3
  11. This is the famous Allegretto portion of the 7th (e.g. The King's Speech movie). Lends itself well to the PX560's piano and strings layering. Symphony 7.mp3
  12. Warning! Grab a cup of coffee and don't operate heavy equipment while listening to this............sleepytime music. Satie wrote 3 Gymnopedies (ceremonial choral dances performed at ancient Greek festivals). This is versions #1 & #3. I skipped #2 since it's kind of blah. I recorded each separately with the midi recorder and then "glued" them together in one file. (3) tracks consisting of: Grand concert piano Stereo strings StairwyRecdr (hex) Gymnopedies 1_3.mp3
  13. From 1981 album Glassworks. This has a weird poly rhythm (i.e. 2 beats left hand, 3 for right) which makes it sound crazy complex when it really isn't. I sort of cheated in that I recorded the left and right parts separately on individual tracks. I couldn't get the right hand triplets correct while hearing/playing the left hand bit. Confused my head big time when together. Using the metronome helped. As per usual Philip Glass, this piece ends without a nice fermata and just stops mid stream with a french horn. I used 2 tones: grand concert piano + dreamyroadz (hex by Mike Martin). Opening.mp3
  14. I may have found a solution for when the system track seems to be corrupted on a particular midi or ZMF recorded performance. By corruption, I mean the tones and/or the settings (i.e. volume, delay, etc.) in the mixer won't stick to the header in the system track despite saving them per store+midi button. I've been having this problem on a bunch of my recordings and have been trying everything to resolve. The trick that worked for me was to record something new (just a few notes, gibberish) to an empty track with a new tone . Then you can set mixer settings on the actual tracks you want and rewrite/save the header with store+midi button and it should stick this time. I then mute the added gibberish track in the mixer or midi menu. You may be able to clear the gibberish track entirely after the fix, but I haven't experimented with that yet. I was having an issue with my latest upload of Bryan Adams Run to You cover. The hexsynthcomp tone (on an individual track) would loose all it's delay (despite the mixer delay set to 127) when I would record a rhythm to the system track. I also tried copying the hexsynthcomp track to a new track in the midi editor to no avail. Adding the gibberish new track seemed to work.
  15. Here's my interpretation of a 1984 classic. This was a tough one and took quite some time to learn all the parts. Had to listen to Youtube bass covers to figure out the bass line. (6) midi tracks consisting of: 70s piano Rock rhythm on system track Grand concert piano Hexsynthcomp Finger bass1 #20 apeggiator with square pulse lead stereo strings Run to You.mp3
  16. A very catchy and upbeat hit from 1980 that doesn't sound like "The Who". Used in numerous movies and TV shows. Fun to play and layer. (7) midi tracks consisting of: UK Beat on system track Grand Concert Piano Electric Piano 2 Crunch Guitar M2 with apreggiator set to "down" Square Lead 2 Fingerbass 1 Stereo strings Let My Love Open the Door.mp3
  17. I've always like the guitar rhythm in this hit from 1989. For those who don't know, Poco was the musical parents for the Eagles. I replicated the backing guitar lick with the piano and added electric guitar rhythm with the arpeggiator. (7) midi tracks consisting of: Country 8Bt on system track Grand Concert Piano Mute OvdGtM1 with down-down-up arpeggiator Stereo strings Finger bass1 Elec Piano 4 Soft T. Sax Call it Love.mp3

Custom hex layer replicating Jonathan Cain's Roland Jupiter 8 signature sound on Journey's Separate Ways tune. Consists of 2 layers: BriteSawPD1 + DigitalEP2 3 with most of the decay levels in the amp envelope removed.
  19. Is there any way to edit the length (in measures) the intro to a factory rhythm? I've read the owners manual (page EN-42-43) regarding the rhythm editor, but it seems you can only edit the sound parameters. I would like to increase the intro beats from default 4 measures to 8 measures. My workaround has been starting the rhythm with the "normal" button and then hitting "intro" button at the 5th measure. This works, but the change in drum pattern is noticeable and not desirable.
  20. For those who don't care for Journey, I promise this is my last upload from this band. Despite appearances, I'm not a huge fan but I do like their keyboard heavy songs. This hit is from 1983. I made a custom hex layer for the first time to replicate Jonathan Cain's Roland Jupiter 8 signature sound (http://www.casiomusicforums.com/index.php?/files/file/1277-sep_wayszlt/). (5) midi tracks consisting of: Rock rhythm on system track Sep Ways (custom hex) Rock Piano Standard Set2 drums Chiff Lead I had a difficult time making the mp3 in Audacity on this since it had many clipping spikes (I was playing too harshly, Ha) throughout when I made the audio recording on the PX560. I ended up lowering the midi recording volume to 110 instead of full 127. Then I ran compressor effect in Audacity which also helped. Separate Ways.mp3
  21. I like the piano bit in this one from 1981. Very tiring to play since it's mostly octaves in both left and right hands. Proud of my trill in the piece. Thankfully, it's a top-to-down trill which is easier for me than down-to-up trills for some reason. (4) midi tracks consisting of: 70s Piano Rock rhythm on system track Grand Concert Piano Stereo Strings AiR E. Piano1 Dont Stop Believin.mp3
  22. From 1992. The piano backing in this was tricky to learn since it has a weird syncopation. Took me a week of practicing daily to retain the muscle (and brain) memory. This is a shortened version so as not to be monotonous (i.e. without the varied singing of Michael Stipe). (4) midi tracks consisting of: Grand Concert Piano (with extra chorus added) Stereo strings Oboe Stairway recorder (hex) Nightswimming.mp3
  23. My tribute to the greatest female vocalist (IMO) ever! This hit is from 1973. Had a hard time finding correct chord data for the chorus. I ended up cutting/pasting 2 different versions of chord data from Ultimate Guitar to make one that sounded correct to me. (6) midi tracks consisting of: PianoBallad2 rhythm on system track GrPno Concert Stereo Strings Flute 1 Voice Doo Elec. Piano 4 Yesterday Once More.mp3
  24. Classic one hit wonder from Wayne Fontana in 1965. Very fun to play. I made it sound extra "cheesy" with the drawbar organ rhythm! My kids say it sounds like something from SpongeBob Squarepants cartoon, Ha. (9) midi tracks consisting of: 60s Pop rhythm on system track Drawbar Org 1 Air 60s EP Air E. Piano 4 Dizzy EP Tuba GrPno Bright GM voice doo Brass sect 1 Game of Love.mp3
  25. From 1967 written by Stevie Wonder (I didn't know that prior to learning song). Has a cool left hand piano stride. Had to "Google" what the opening instrument was..........a bassoon. 8 midi tracks: Old Soul rhythm Grand Piano Concert Rock Piano Larrys Roadz (hex) Bassoon Trumpet 1 Voice Doo Vent Lead Tears of a Clown.mp3
