  1. From 1992. The piano backing in this was tricky to learn since it has a weird syncopation. Took me a week of practicing daily to retain the muscle (and brain) memory. This is a shortened version so as not to be monotonous (i.e. without the varied singing of Michael Stipe). (4) midi tracks consisting of: Grand Concert Piano (with extra chorus added) Stereo strings Oboe Stairway recorder (hex) Nightswimming.mp3
  2. My tribute to the greatest female vocalist (IMO) ever! This hit is from 1973. Had a hard time finding correct chord data for the chorus. I ended up cutting/pasting 2 different versions of chord data from Ultimate Guitar to make one that sounded correct to me. (6) midi tracks consisting of: PianoBallad2 rhythm on system track GrPno Concert Stereo Strings Flute 1 Voice Doo Elec. Piano 4 Yesterday Once More.mp3
  3. Classic one hit wonder from Wayne Fontana in 1965. Very fun to play. I made it sound extra "cheesy" with the drawbar organ rhythm! My kids say it sounds like something from SpongeBob Squarepants cartoon, Ha. (9) midi tracks consisting of: 60s Pop rhythm on system track Drawbar Org 1 Air 60s EP Air E. Piano 4 Dizzy EP Tuba GrPno Bright GM voice doo Brass sect 1 Game of Love.mp3
  4. From 1967 written by Stevie Wonder (I didn't know that prior to learning song). Has a cool left hand piano stride. Had to "Google" what the opening instrument was..........a bassoon. 8 midi tracks: Old Soul rhythm Grand Piano Concert Rock Piano Larrys Roadz (hex) Bassoon Trumpet 1 Voice Doo Vent Lead Tears of a Clown.mp3
  5. This is a gorgeous piano piece from the 1998 movie The Truman Show. I set the reverb to "stadium 2" to match the original. The ending "keeps you hanging" (i.e. not resolved), it's not a mistake on my part, Ha. Truman Sleeps.mp3
  6. Theme to one of my favorite TV shows. Fun to play along with German march rhythm and use the tuba! (6) midi tracks consisting of: March 3 rhythm on system track Grand Piano Tuba Acous. Bass 1 Drawbar Org 3 Brass Sect 1 Hogans Heroes.mp3
  7. I recently was asked by my son if I could learn this piece to play at his upcoming wedding in May. Never heard of the Italian composer or song prior. I must be living in a cave since it has over 5 million hits on YouTube. Found free sheet music at Musescore and here's the result. Note, this is just the "main bit" from the overall. I had to shorten to work with the bride walking down the aisle. I Giorni.mp3
  8. This is one of my favorites from the Cars 1979 Candy-O album. I really like the cool keyboard work of Greg Hawkes on the original. Did my best with the guitar solo interlude. I can't fully replicate by ear what awesome guitarist Elliot Easton is doing there, but it's reasonably correct. 8 midi tracks consisting of: Pop rhythm on system track Grand Piano Elec. Piano 4 Stereo strings Overdrv. Gtr2 Square Lead 3 Fing. Bass M1 Charang Its All I Can Do.mp3
  9. In keeping with the the current "space" theme post (i.e. sslyutov), I've submitted my version of a 1981 classic. 4 midi tracks consisting of: Slow Ballad 2 on system track Grand Concert Piano Deckards Lead (hex) Synth Bass 4 with arpeggiator Gtr Strk1 Space Age Love Song.mp3
  10. Can anyone recommend a great synth to go in the backgroundto download from here. I play lots of new age contemporary christian and looking for some good sounds. Any help is appreciated Casio PX 560m
  11. Please excuse my constant uploading which I'm sure is annoying to some however, I just LOVE playing the PX560 and I can't stop playing this fine instrument! I've never practiced this much ever. This one is just the clean Grand Concert Piano sound from the PX560. I resisted adding strings (my usual route) since this piece is so beautiful as is. The only editing I did in midi was to remove the gap when I had to turn the page of sheet music (I'll never master that skill while keeping tempo). Clair de Lune.mp3
  12. Hi. As the new owner of a Px560 (coming from a Yamaha MOX8 I want to use an Organ simulator on my iPad controlled via the 560. Iwant to be able to control the volume of the iPad and , for example, turn the piano volume to zero on the Privia whilst I assign a control knob to turn up the iPad organ whilst I use it.i thought it was a simple matter of assigning one of the control knobs to MIDI volume but it doesn’t seem to work. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could do this? It seems so simple in principle but I just can’t seem to nail it! Any help appreciated. (I connect via a Korg key to the iPad rig). Thanks in advance.
  13. This is the Largo portion of the New World Symphony, Op 95. I used to play this in church to the lyrics of "Goin' Home" which was very comforting. Goin' home. Goin' home. I'm a-goin' home. Quiet-like some still day, I'm just goin' home. It's not far, just close by, through an open door. Work all done, cares laid by, goin' to roam no more; Mother's there 'xpecting me, father's waiting, too, Lots of folks gathered there, all the friends I knew. Morning star lights the way, restless dream all done. Shadows gone, break of day, real life just begun. There's no break, there's no end, just a-living on; Wide awake, with a smile, going on and on. Going home. Going home, I'm just going home. It's not far, just close by, through an open door. New World Symphony.mp3
  14. This one is a favorite of mine from Mozart. Except for the dreaded 1 measure length trill (that's rough on a left-handed player, as myself), I think it came out nice after 3 takes without any editing. Mozart K467.mp3
  15. This one is from my favorite band ever (Electric Light Orchestra) on the 1981 album Time. Always liked the similarity to Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. This was a very challenging piece with a complex piano arpeggio backing track. I did not use the PX560's arpeggiator but did it "old school". (5) MIDI tracks consisting of: Piano Ballad2 rhythm on system track Grand Concert Piano Digital EP5 Stereo Strings Finger Bass1 Happy New Year 2019! Ticket to the Moon.mp3
  16. I always liked this song and makes me laugh when I remember Michael J. Fox playing it at the Under the Sea Dance in Back to the Future. I always find the bridge of a piece difficult to mimic since I only use chord data from Ultimate Guitar typically. Had to listen to the original many times to get it reasonably correct. (5) midi tracks consisting of: Oldies 8 beat rhythm on system track Grand Piano Acous Bass1 Cho. CleanGt2 Drawbar Org2 Happy New Year to All! Earth Angel.mp3
  17. Here's my contribution towards the season. Merry Christmas! Note: I changed key between verses during the audio recording using the transpose button. I had to do it this way since key changes are not included with the MIDI recording information which seems strange. But whatever, this workaround is fine. (4) tracks: March 3 rhythm Piano Bell Riser (hex) Stereo strings Do You Hear What I Hear.mp3
  18. This is from (IMO) the best mini-series/docu drama ever made. I had to purchase and download the sheet music for this today (https://www.musicnotes.com/sheetmusic/mtd.asp?ppn=MN0052375) after having no luck trying to figure out the melody via free internet chord data which is my usual route as a cheap-skate, Ha. I transposed it down 2 steps for a deeper sound per Sergio's tip, thanks. Band of Brothers.mp3
  19. Here's the big hit (a.k.a. Oh What a Night) from "Jersey Boys" and is also the year I was born, Ha. (6) midi tracks consisting of: Modern Dance rhythm on system track Grand Concert Piano Finger Bass 1 Chorus EP 1 Voice Doo Brass Sect 1 December 1963.mp3
  20. I heard this song (from 1961) while shopping in Walmart the other day and thought it would be fun to learn. Special shout out to Brad Saucier for giving me the tip on how to add rain & thunder to this piece (see post in PX560 forum). I downloaded the free rain & thunder mp3 from Soundbible.com and imported into the audio recording of the music from the PX560 using Audacity. Always learning new tricks! Celelsta Piano Strings 70's organ Rhythm of the Rain.mp3
  21. Does anyone know where (or if) I can get a "ZTN" file for the PX560 that sounds like thunder/rain? No, I'm not doing "Riders in the Storm", Ha. Is there someway to get a General MIDI (GM) version that is compatible? Thanks in advance for any advice.
  22. This is the haunting theme from the 1969 movie "Midnight Cowboy". I have never seen the movie, but love the theme song. (5) MIDI tracks consisting of: Rhythm = OldiesBallad Grand Piano Stereo strings Velo clarinet (original uses a harmonica which I didn't care for) Symphony2 (hex) Midnight Cowboy.mp3
  23. This tune was written by the late Carl Wilson in 1971 and largely known from the movie "Almost Famous" from 2000. I really like the "stride" pacing. 9 midi tracks consisting of: Pop Rock1 rhythm on system track Swirling Keys (hex) 5- velo Whirly (hex) GrPno Concert Choir Aahs Streo String1 Digital EP6 Flute 1 Finger Bass1 Feel Flows.mp3

    Out of tune?

While practicing the intro to the Bittersweet Symphony, I notice the right hand melody notes in the range of: E5, B5, D5, and A6 are out of tune with the left hand playing octaves in the range of E2, B2, D2, A2 (in tune). Playing right hand part lower or higher than E5 area sounds correct. I rebooted the PX560 several times, changed the piano tone to no avail. My pitch wheel and modulation wheels are neutral. I then adjusted the tuning in the system settings menu from 440hz to 450hz (see MP3 of both versions) and it sounds better at 450hz? I haven't noticed this out-of-tune problem until now. Am I crazy or am I doing something wrong? I installed the latest v1.15 firmware when I got the keyboard in September and have had no other issues. There is a factory reset button, but I don't want to resort to that if I don't have to. 440hz_out of tune.mp3 450hz_sounds better.mp3
  25. Martha Mier is contemporary jazz/blues composer who lives in the same state I do, Florida. Coincidentally, it happens to be a "misty night" this evening in Florida with cool fall temperatures and humidity fog. I found this piece while cleaning out my file cabinet of sheet music. Never noticed this neat little piece until now. The PX560 is so fantastic to play, it's making me practice more than I ever have, which is a good thing. Misty Night Blues.mp3
