  1. In Finale (a music notation and playback PC program), it's possible to have it play the score by sending the MIDI signals directly to the keyboard, and then the keyboard is playing the score using its own sounds. It is definitely possible to have it play Casio tones, not just general midi tones, and this becomes really cool when playing with the versatile tones. But I can't get it to work! Does anyone know how to translate the 3 columns in the CT-S500 user guide under Tone List: "Bank Select MSB" , "Bank Select LSB" and "Program Change" into the Patch Select window in Finale, which has the options: "Bank Select 0", "Bank Select 32", and "Program Change"? I have already tried the obvious, for example for this tone which is the versatile nylon guitar, I have done this in the Finale Patch Selector menu. But that plays tone 660: GM Bandoneon (which is almost like the thing is laughing at me 😅😖) I'm pulling my hair out over this one - any help would be so appreciated!!
  2. I have been trying unsuccessfully for a month (with the continued help of Finale's tech support) to have Finale play through MIDI the sounds on my CTK-6200. We have tried to input the numbers from the attached scan of a portion of the appendix to the Casio user manual into Finale's bank and program change numbers, but while each different attempt DOES communicate with my keyboard and change the sound, it is never the sound we have tried to program. I am using Finale 2014.5. Any advice that anyone who has experience in this area can give that might lead me to success will be more than greatly appreciated. While Finale comes with a plethora of great Garritan samples, most are orchestral, and I would LOVE to make use of the multitude of different types of sounds on my CTK-6200 with my notation. 3. I am unable to use my new Casio PX-150 with Finale and was told by Finale that, "We are aware of an issue when using some of Casio's newest models of keyboards to enter notes in Finale on Mac computers. Keyboards such as the PX-350 have implemented a new HD MIDI technology which sends an additional controller message on CC#88. This controller is not compatible with any of our current notation products. Some users report that third-party programs, such as Midipipe by SubtleSoft, can be used in conjunction with Finale to filter controller messages. These third-party programs are currently untested by MakeMusic and we cannot offer support for using them with Finale." Has anyone dealt with this and have a fix?
  4. I spent a good bit of time with the folks at Finale trying to figure out why my PX-5S wasn't able to input midi information in Finale 2010. They finally said that it was because my keyboard uses high resolution midi velocity. And they suggested there may be 3rd party ways of filtering the midi flow and getting my keyboard to work. I just found an easier (for me) solution. I unplugged the USB cable and created an Audio Midi Setup using midi out from my PX-5S only. Now Finale is happy.
