Patrick Arend
Just a sort of cryptic observation about some new grooveboxes i recently heard.
Mihajlo
Those groove boxes are not Vulcancs, and they are not Krog. They are Korg. And they are Volcas. One doesnt beat another. I am not defending Volcas, but their purposes are different. Volcas are analog drum machines, with 64 steps sequencer. And XWG1 is 16 step seq with samples. But has additional sounds and features. They cannot be compared.
Patrick Arend
Hi Mihajlo, Just ribbing korg a little , actually ive preordered the volca keys, I have the monotrons too. what I was crudely saying is for band in the box the xw-p1 does more. but I agree that the korg volcas are different beast and have their own analogue flavor. would love to have all three. p.s. I really don't think one xw-p1 beats three korg volcas, or three korg volcas beats one xw-p1. If anything they would all just complement each other and play well together. Percivale
Well, you get a Volca set of three for price of a XW. Functionality and sonic capabilities being very different. Volca series are analog, great value for money and very capable synths. I even voted it as release of the year 2013 in one of the polls
