asmidir
Hi, Recently purchased an XW-G1 and really enjoying it. I've plugged an electric guitar into the instrument input, but can't hear it or record? I've tried using the MIC input, but the level is still quite low even at max volume on mic input and guitar? How do I import ZSY files? Many Thanks
XW-Addict
Hi, Recently purchased an XW-G1 and really enjoying it. How do I import ZSY files? Many Thanks Hi fellow G1 user there are several way's to check the recording level setting the Mic volume on the back of the G1 by turning the knob as you've said is one. Have you looked at the "Mixer" setting press the mixer button and use the "Part - " button to navigate to the left of the menu it will show gradually every mixer option including the external inputs which if you scroll is on the left end see if the external part is ON or OFF, if it is ON , Use the cursor control buttons on the right of the G1 to go up and down of the external menu looked at from their you can set volume DSP and auto level. Or I've connected another synth at instrument in and such set the input levels at the right volume worked pretty good. Manual says nothing about guitar thoI don't know much about guitars maybe you need a pre-amplifier before connecting the guitar to the synth maybe someone on the forum could verify if my guess is right. The best way to import the ZSY files is by using the G1 data editor you can download that from the Casio site at this link. http://support.casio.com/en/support/download.php?cid=008&pid=61 Or by downloading ZSY files putting them on the SD card in the MusicDat folder and manually load them one by one into your G1 which is tedious
asmidir
Many thanks for the quick reply - I couldn't work out how to get to all the relevant mixer options, so I'll see if that does the trick! The ZSY files are XW-P1 patches which sounded like a good idea to load. Which DAW do you use?
Scottym
You'll need a pre-amp for the guitar of which there are a lot to choose from with different features and price points. If you're on a cheap budget, you could get something like this. http://www.dv247.com/guitars/behringer-gdi21-v-tone-guitar-guitar-amp-modeler-direct-recording-preamp-di-box--26906
