A3 and F4 makes surrounding notes much louder.
Display Name replied to Ripheart's topic in General Casio Discussion
Hi and welcome to the forums. It could be debris or some kind of build-up messing with the sensors, or a control board could be bad. First thing I'd try is cheap and easy: blast out the bad area with canned air. Really get the straw in there and spray all around the affected area. Also, turn the keyboard upside-down when you do this so gravity works for you, not against you. This *may* work, but my guess is it needs to be opened up and maybe some parts to be fixed. So if the air doesn't work, you may want to look at just getting a new one. 9 years is a pretty good run for an entry-level digital piano and you will be getting a MUCH better sound and feel with a brand new instrument. Brand new CDP-135 is $299. So food for thought.. GOOD LUCK! Let us know how it works out! -
I spent the last two weeks teaching a Sound Explorers Summer Camp and the CT-X700 was a huge hit. Easily the most favored keyboard (a roster of which contained some 1000+ boards!). Kids loved that they could grab it and take it to a table and make real music very quickly. Next, my CT-X700 is going on a Florida road tour! July & August we're going from the Gulf Coast to the Space Coast -- let's see what adventures (and misadventures!) the CT-X700 can find!

Yes kudos indeed. Some people really want to see EVERYTHING the instrument can do, so something like this is really nice to have (and not have to make it myself LOLOLOLOLOL). CHEERS! 🎹🎹🎹 -

Muscle memory is basically a task that you have done so often and so well, that you don't think about it --- but of course it's still all in the brain. -
Cleaning “Ivory” Keys. Possible mold?
Display Name replied to Thor's topic in General Privia Discussion
Only a year old? My guess is the plastic picked up the musty smell from the basement and it just needs time to wear off. (Ever smell a keyboard from a smoker? BLECH!) My suggestion would to be put it in a box or closet with a some baking soda or other odor / moisture absorbing material for a week.. or just run a fan on it for a few days. RE: Vinegar. I don't think it will hurt the keys, and if you try it I would do just one white and one black key and make sure it doesn't discolor.- 1 reply

Hi Clyde and welcome. Don't feel bad. I have run out of fingers and toes to count the number of times this issue has come up. :-)

What is GM Tones, How different in normal tones.
Display Name replied to Subham's topic in General CTK / WK / LK Discussion
GM = General MIDI. These are, in essence, a set of standard sounds across all brands of keyboards. They each may sound slightly different between brands, but overall it's a pretty good system. Without this, MIDI files wouldn't work right; you'd have to assign each track to an instrument manually. OK so to record to a PC? You need an audio interface and a DAW or audio recording program (Audacity, for example). So you take the audio from the CTK and go into the interface and then the interface goes to the PC via USB.- 1 reply

WK-245 Sampling
Display Name replied to SpatialSculpture's topic in General CTK / WK / LK Discussion
Honestly, any cheap mixer with a decent pre-amp. You should be able to find one for around $40-60. The Behringer Xenyx 502 5-Channel Analog Mixer is only $40. -
CTK 4400 - CHORD accompaniment
Display Name replied to Gabriel's topic in General CTK / WK / LK Discussion
Page E-44 of the manual covers how to select a chord: http://support.casio.com/storage/en/manual/pdf/EN/008/Web_WK240_CTK4400-ES1A_EN.pdf Are you following all those steps and and it's still not working for the chords you listed? All other chords play OK? -
Hi Pendejo. I wouldn't be too concerned unless it happens again. It could have had a "bad" shutdown and some data got corrupted. The fact that the factory reset fixed it is a GOOD sign! It pretty much eliminates this being a hardware issue. If you registered your 560 at CasioMusicGear.com then you have a three year warranty so I would not sweat it. Just keep an eye on it and post here if it happens again.

Try using a mixer as a pre-amp to boost the mic sound so: mic ---> mixer ---> keyboard -

which are your musical studies whith your MZ X ?
Display Name replied to MANY's topic in MZ-X500 / MZ-X300
Self-taught, but now getting tips from YouTube videos so really learning from others - but not "formal lessons". Started in 1987 and while I may slow down sometimes (LIFE!) -- -I never stop! LOL. My rule on music is: if it SOUNDS good, it IS good. 😄 -
Hi Zoey. Do you have the phone's audio jack connected to the Casio's audio in or do you just have the USB connector going? --- You need both for the audio to play into the CTK.

Is my pitch bend backwards?
Display Name replied to PaddyMusic's topic in General XW Series Discussion
Check out Block 10: Controllers and see if you can edit the pitch bend "away" and "toward" actions. (PAGE E-29 http://support.casio.com/storage/en/manual/pdf/EN/008/XWP1_1B_EN.pdf ) Lemme know if it works!- 9 replies

CT-X models do not have aftertouch!

I'm actually going to be out that way next month visiting the local music stores and training and demoing the Casios (including the CT-X700!). I'll be in touch! -
CT-X models do not have aftertouch!
Display Name replied to AlenK's topic in General CT-X Discussion
Hey Chas! Long time no talk (we still need to get together -- I'll let you know when I'm on the Gulf coast!) Anywho, the CT-X700 manual shows it receives aftertouch (channel pressure). What parameters you can route it to I don't know, but it's there. :-) -
If it was made any place other than China, it would be more expensive. As far as QA - I have a ton of Chinese-made Casios. Never had a problem, but the warranty is there for any issues that come up. 3 years for a digital piano is really good.

I'd move the computer and keyboard rig to be closer together

Powering off a PX5s swiching off the mains supply.
Display Name replied to mike71's topic in Privia Pro PX-5S
The PX-5S will be fine, of course if it has batteries installed it won't turn off even if you cut the power! I'd be more concerned about the speakers or headphones, especially in the power up sequence. The speakers or headphone should be turned on last and turned off first to prevent those loud "pops" that *could* do some damage. So to answer your question, you'll probably be OK but you really should really get in the habit of power up/down the equipment in the right order. -
CT-X700 - what instead of the pitchbender?
Display Name replied to PSS-270's topic in CT-X700 / CT-X800
If you need a pitch bender on a CT-X, I'd say go for any of the other models. The 800 seems really nice (and I don't think that's available in US.) ** If you don't like the color, play in the dark. LOLOLOLOL*** But if you are set on the 700 and need to pitch bend: USB the CT-X700 and MIDI controller to a computer and use a DAW or host app to route the MIDI chain. -
No you're fine. This thread just got a little derailed on sample legality issues.
